The staff & Vet were very friendly & prompt. Professional care for all 9 puppy vaccinations.

We had Dr. Brown for our 3 previous dogs till they passed on. We rescued a new doggie who was being followed at another vet's clinic. We were not happy with their services there. However, when we called Dr Brown she was able to give us an appointment that same week. She did a thorough examination and discovered things the previous vets had missed (an umbilical hernia and a cyst). The staff there are very professional kind and helpful. It's nice to have always the same vet for follow up and continuity of care. She has never ordered unnecessary expensive tests with our previous dogs, she is in her profession for the love of animals and not for lucrative reasons.

The staff at departure bay vet are very friendly and knowledgeable. They are keen to answer any questions I may have and are always welcome to clarifying anything I am unsure about. They treat my dog like their own. I would definitely recommend them!

What a horrible horrible experience. The vet was very aggressive rude and abusive. Never will I return and everyone will know what a Terrble place to go. Please don't take your beloved pets there

When I moved to nanaimo I took a chance on Dr Brown to be Jack's vet.the first visit did not go well.my dog felt uncomfortable around her and instead of listening to me on how to handle my fur baby she we t ahead and muzzled my dog against my wishes.when I just tried to bring him In for one of his scheduled visits to my dismay I found out which was unknown to me that she intends to drug my dog everytime I bring him in for any issue including shots.my dog is not aggressive and I found her and her Staff very rude. I will be changing vets as I found this intention of hers very unacceptable as she has not once discussed her concerns or future intentions on my dogs care with me

I recently switched vets and Dr Brown and especially her staff taught me new things about Pepper and offered practical advice for his day to day care, teeth, nails and anxiety. I felt heard and safe. On top of this wonderful care, the cost was way less than previous vet, awesome bonus for a senior.

Very clear explanation on what needs to happen. I feel well informed on the treatment plan. The cost is below 2 other previous estimates, the cost and treatment plan make sense. I wish I would of known there are vet clinics that are affordable.

Departure Bay Veterinary Hospital is great! Dr. Brown is very thorough and explains all the steps, etc. Great to know my pets are in her care. The team there are also fantastic.

I find the receptionist friendly and efficient and the doctor is great. She always lets me know what everything is going to cost, up front, and immediately, she doesn't order unnecessary exams, and she is thoughtful in her decisions. Their prices are good and the care is excellent.

We have been clients of Departure Bay Vet since we first moved to Nanaimo over 20 years ago. My dogs have always been happy to go in and visit with Dr. Brown, she loves the animals and always explains treatments etc in simple language.

Dr. Brown genuinely cares about my Chinni. Not a product pusher like the others. Does not put her on all sorts of pills needlessly nor does she want me to buy products at her clinic. Recommends me to get it. She does not recommend numerous tests that are not absolutely necessary like our previous clinics. We are glad we found Dr. Brown. Taelon is very warm, friendly & patient. Absolutely great service! We’ve been going to Departure Bay Veterinary Hospital for well over a decade and not only are they great with our animals they are super knowledgeable as well. Not to mention having fair and reasonable prices. If your looking for the best Vet in Nanaimo you just found it!

I brought my small dog in for her annual check up.
The service was awesome. All the staff is very nice, calm and friendly. Dr. Brown is very informative about what is specific to your visit and communicative in a plain and simple language so that we understand everything. They are patient and listen intently. I would recommend anyone to take their fur babies here as they are in very caring and capable hands. I appreciate that the most.

Vet was very rude to me as I have a mask exemption and she screamed at me when I tried to explain. You can't really make policies that are against the law. Medical exemptions should be honored. My friend dealt with her and said she is a good vet however. Cost was same as any other vet

The vet nurse and doctor were very nice and thorough. My nervous cat was made comfortable by Dr. Brown during his exam - she’s a wonderful vet.

The staff are wonderful, but the vet was not friendly, made my son and I very upset when we put our dog to sleep, she said you should have done this years ago. Not comforting at all.
