Very well managed property and service. My manager (Carolos) is professional, pleasant and happy to work with. Thank you

Tried to calling building manager for appointment. Listed on website. No one is replying. Posted query on website but no response. This is not professional. People are investing time to find out apartment.

We are a family of four and are really enjoying our experience at the Comma Fraser. The 3 bedroom condo we are renting is super nice and well-designed and the kitchen has way more cupboards than usual. The kids love playing ping pong in the multi-purpose room. Cheyanne the property manager has been wonderful. She is very organized and helpful and gets back to you right away if you have questions. Great place to rent and awesome location in Fraserhood!
24 July 2023 12:38
I want to express my heartfelt appreciation for the exceptional assistance we received from Cheyanne Edgren and the building administration during our recent move. Cheyanne's dedication and support made our transition safe, smooth, and stress-free. She provided prompt and informative communication, offering valuable guidance and ensuring our needs were met. Cheyanne's commitment to our safety and convenience was outstanding. We are grateful for her professionalism and the excellent service from the entire building administration team. Highly recommended!

Beautiful, welcoming building with a seamless move in experience. Any problems I’ve had in my unit have been sorted out day of. Super clean and spacious unit with an amazing view. Building is also very walkable to main street and restaurants around Fraser.

I just moved here from Brazil and so far enjoying a lot living here. We are still getting things together, getting to know people. The staff has been really helpful so far especially Cheyanne E. Thanks for making this move smoother for us!

Would give zero stars if I could. If you want a rental where they don't fix a hole in your ceiling for 6 months devon properties is for you! If you want to live somewhere where you have asbestos exposed and they don't bother covering it or communicating when repairs are going to be done look no further!
05 June 2023 9:26
Their service kind of sucks. But i guess when renters outnumber rentals you can afford lack luster effort.

Maximum profit minimum effort
26 May 2023 9:32
Very good experience moving in. Management has been professional, helpful and responsive. Off to a good start.
26 May 2023 7:54
'This is just moisture', apparently Devon Properties does not think this is mold and they think it is okay to let someone live in these conditions. Damp walls, moist bedding and clothes every morning, rusty water pipes and so much moisture that a dehumidifier had to be ran 24/7. I wouldn't recommend Devon Properties to my worst enemy. ZERO stars.
27 April 2023 13:49
Incredibly unprofessional company. They treat tenants in good standing very poorly. I suggest looking elsewhere if you want a business to manage your property, or if you are thinking about renting in one of their buildings.

Robert has been a great manager for our building (Fernwood Manor). He is very helpful and kind.

I am living in Seaview tower and the Property Manager (Mr. Dexter Liam) is very supportive and helpful always.
16 March 2023 8:11
My experience at these place has not been pleasant. From slow elevators and all. All these people care about is money not about how the tenants are living after paying such expensive fees for staying in a luxurious apartment so they say. The moment you sign. Your lease they forget about you. They are unresponsive and always looking for how to squeeze more money from the tenants. That they are very good at. I thought they were good but will never recommend this place to anyone. Visitors can't come to your place as they will have to pay to park after paying such expensive fees. All just to make money. I would not have given a star because any thing that is less than a star is what they deserve.

Just wanted to give a big shout out to Jeremy one of the Rental Agents for Devon. He has been absolutely amazing and super accommodating in both our rental process and my in-laws and we could have not been more thankful for all the time and care he puts into his job and to make this process smooth for us.

We were not physically in Nanaimo during our rental process and he was extremely helpful in going the extra mile to set up a video chat for the viewing and helping us remotely with all our questions and concerns.

Thank you Jeremy and to Devon for having such awesome staff!

Jeremy, you are the best!

I would like to share a positive experience. About your resident Manager at One Tree Meadow.
Jennifer Allison Runs this place like a shinning star. I have been a home owner for most of my life. I observe many issues that arise in an all rental building. Jenn keeps everything running like a well oiled machine. I commend you for hiring such a competent manager, she is one of the biggest reasons I continue to rent here.

I have been asking to have the stairs outside our apartment be safe for rain, ice and snow. It's been weeks since I complained after injuring myself, other tenants have fallen as well. Devon properties showed zero remorse, took zero accountability and even went the extra step of blaming me for slipping on the ice and falling down the stairs instead of taking responsibility for their negligence. The amount of turnover for building managers has been ridiculous. Our Devon managers have progressively gotten worse and worse (never answering the phone, no responses to texts, sighing when you finally get ahold of them, asking if you can fix the specific issue yourself, or can you put an out of order sign on the laundry room and call the repair man) this company does not care about their renters whatsoever. Guess I'll be going through the BC tenancy board dispute route.
11 February 2023 5:45
Where do I start whether it has to do with parking, storage, rent increase.

For the record, I did not receive notice of any of these except the other day. She finally emailed me a copy of the parking increase.

Back in September I had an issue with changing my storage locker. The previous manager allowed me to switch to a smaller storage. Arina did not have that information and was asking me to pay the extra mounts for a large unit. I sent her pictures and said that it was changed months ago and that I did not owe money.
A few months later, they had apparently sent notices to fill out a form, saying your unit number your parking number and your storage number. A notice I did not get

A few weeks later I went to my storage only to find it empty. I called Arina and she said that she found out that way. She said the lock was even gone so they had to put a new lock on it.
I spent the week in fear been taken. I had my sons. Last belongings he passed away two years ago. I also had my daughters metals and gifts from my. Stored in there.
So a week later I ran into the maintenance man asked him if he had been instructed to empty a locker. He said yes, I asked him to show me and also described what was in it. He said oh yes. And was about to show me and we bumped into Arina. I asked Arina, I talk to you last week. And she didn’t know anything about my locker. She said oh no you gave me the wrong numbers, I said no I did not. I gave you pictures.said she would give my stuff back to me.
When we went to get my stuff, they had been stored in three different places in the building and some of my stuff I did not get back.
She denies the fact that some of my stuff is missing.
The next day I went through my stuff left a huge tote Christmas decorations that I was going to donate to the downtown Eastside women’s shelter. It was too heavy for me to carry. So I had to wait for a friend to help.
Arina messages me, reminding me that the tote is there I said yes I was going to donate that stuff.
My friend and I went down into the lobby I noticed the decorations hung on the tree in th lobby.
Unbelievable
As for the parking I received proper notice yesterday, so do not expect to till the proper time is up
As for the rent increase, I’ve only been here a year and a half and has already had one rental increase. I have also still not received notice for this.

Should I be going to the tenancy board
About this?

Additionally in November and December I was struggling financially because
Of residual Covid symptoms and had to be referred to VGH Covid hospital. The biggest issue. Was that I was missing too much work I found. And Outreach company that was going to help me. But they wanted a rental agreement.
My manager refused to give me a rental agreement for some reason there was no copy of it in the Devon properties paperwork from when I first moved here.
She just said no I’m not doing that so then I didn’t get the that I needed

Zero stars if I could

Real quick to communicate any issues that offend the property overlord, but takes months to get a reply back on issues that don't immediately effect them. And good luck with repairs. Over a month for a microwave replacement is ridiculously incompetent
05 January 2023 17:27
I have been sooo disappointed since they started managing my apartment building in October. I very much miss the old management company.

- The poor management started with a very poorly communicated take over, only giving residents about two weeks notice that they needed to change who they were paying rent to; many residents are elderly and were informed they now had to travel to Fort St to pay by cheque, instead of leaving it at the building office.
- In under 3 months we've had at least 3 different building managers.
- We can never get a response from the building manager when emailed. I have had to call a week later every time and each time the building manager has read my email, but did not bother to reply even an acknowledgement of receiving it. It took two weeks for me to just get a form to request a storage unit because I emailed, called a week later to be told he would email me a form and then I had to follow up the following week because he still hadn't sent the form. Now I'm told I can't get a unit for over a month because they're doing an audit of the building and he couldn't keep track during it, which is again just a sign of poor management and not being able to keep a basic ledger of units issued. So even though there are storage units available, it's going to take 2 months from my first request to get one. When I inquired with the old management company in the summer, they offered to get me a key for a unit within 24 hours and replied to my email within 5 hours.
- Contacted Tenant Experience as asked to share my experience, and the email was forwarded to the property manager, John, whose response was condescending, deflected responsibilty, and was overall victim blaming.

If you're looking at two buildings and one is managed by Devon and the other isn't, I would highly recommend avoiding Devon (Starlight Investments). They're proving to be more interested in publicity events in Centennial Square than actual quality building management.

I have been living in a building managed by Devon Properties for almost a year and I have to say, they are the BEST property management company/landlord I have lived with!

There were a few hiccups in the beginning with moving over from Vancouver to Nanaimo, and a bit of miscommunication from the contractors Devon Properties hired to complete some renovations. However, when these issues were brought to the attention of Devon Properties, they resolved them for me and went above and beyond to ensure I had a roof over my head.

More recently, I have had typical house hitches, such as a broken cabinet, hot water tank accidentally shutting off, fire alarms going off at weird times and carport lights burning out, and Devon Properties has come by to fix the problem within 24 hours of the request being submitted. Their tenant portal system is AMAZING for putting in maintenance requests. It's super convenient and the maintenance guys are always so efficient, skillful and friendly. They even came by and set up my washer/dryer for me!

Not to mention, their admin staff are on the ball for responding to inquiries and are always prompt, pleasant and professional.

I am so grateful to be living in a place with a property management company who really seem to care about their tenants. I think the most important thing is that Devon Properties allows you to enjoy living in your home with no disruption. It's a beautiful thing when you have a mutual respect with your landlord. I will definitely be here for the long haul.

Thank you for being so awesome, Devon Properties! I appreciate you all.
15 December 2022 7:42
Jeremy and his whole team was amazing to work with! Such wonderful people who were prompt with email responses when I needed help and got me into our place when I needed.thank you to the team and it's still been great the last few months working with you.
10 December 2022 13:26
Absolutely the worst rental management company i have ever seen. I would rather live on the street than have to rent off these people. I strongly suggest avoiding any property that they manager
22 November 2022 17:25
When Devon Properties took over for Cornerstone, there was a difficult patch during the transition period. It's not easy for any company to do, and it was during the pandemic to add to that difficulty. We had some issues with overflowing garbage, but Preet Gill was able to completely turn it around and now the cleaning/maintenance is completely under control.

She's an extremely hard worker, sometimes doing the cleaning herself when the usual person isn't able to come in. The painters for the building left a bunch of their old materials and she came out herself to deal with it. Devon Properties as a company I can't speak much about because my contact has mainly been with Preet, but she's doing a great job.
01 November 2022 18:26
Since Devon Properties took over Glenvalley Grove apartments in Langford, there has been so much positive change! Jenn (building manager) is kind, firm and hardworking. This building was newly built but lacked supervision and was being disrespected by its tenants. Devon Properies has completely changed the culture here and this building has become a safe, enjoyable place to live!

Devon became new property manager at Robert’s manor in Sidney. Terrible experience so far. Met with Christian to set up properties vista account. He said my account is all set up but I have to email him for the information? He said he doesn’t have access to emails while he’s sitting in the office at Robert’s manor so he would get back to me later tonight. How did you set my account up? But don’t have access to emails? Big waste of time. This guy parked in my parking spot I pay for as well. He admitted he knew he was in the wrong. So why do it.
10 October 2022 10:27
Horrible company to rent from, complete scumbags to deal with, they will charge you the absolute max they can, lie to you about amenities when you move in and scam you for all sorts of things when you move out, we are currently starting a case with the tenancy board regarding their illegal behaviour with returning security deposits, be very aware of these scammers rent elsewhere if possible!
10 October 2022 5:24
Steer clear of Devon, especially if it's a building managed by Andrew Capeau, or overseen by Rick Restell. Andrew's taken it upon himself, with Devons support, to railroad me into being involved with his personal drama. Supposedly there's been a tenant writing anonymous letters, an email and a txt message. Neither Andrew, Rick, or anyone else at Devon, chose to do even a basic investigation. None of the identifiable info from the adimistration mail they recieved, or the txt message, was cross referenced to verify they had it right, but both certainly feels they know I'm involved and Rick has attempted to threaten me with "arbitration" for something I was never involved in. Andrew has also been actively defaming me to other tenants. Devon was made aware of Andrew's self-involved and emotionally immature behaviour 3 times over a week, and chose to ignore the issue. So now I've been forced to pursue a defamation suit against both Andrew and Devon as well as a rental appeals complaint.
If you don't enjoy being dragged into manufactured drama, and building politics, then stay away from Devon. It's become more than obvious that professional standards aren't enforced, if they even exist, and tenants negative experiences are fantasies.
Given the current issues with multiple industries having problems finding employees, post COVID, this is something you can expect to deal with. Andrew has 0 experience managing an apartment building. He's a pedicab tour guide, and owner of Victoria Pedicab co. The incompetence is palatable.

As soon as the legal nonsense is out of the way, it's off to NFLD. Be amazing not to have to deal with the infantile behaviour of, supposed, adults that Devon employs. And good riddance to the lot.
28 September 2022 5:15
I had to give a star to post this. But they are not star worthy.
Devon properties does NOT care about their renters. We live in a complex with two more buildings, and unfortunately in one of the buildings there is a dog that is quite aggressive and get away from the owner. We have a service dog and when we leave our building, if that dog is out it will charge at us and try to attack.
We've contacted Devon properties on numerous occasions and they have done NOTHING about it. No response at all!
I've now escalated it up to animal control so that they can hopefully deal with things in a timely manner. It is unfortunate that Devon has done nothing to deal with this. We talked to the leasing manager because he seems to be the only person that actually cares about what is happening to us and others tenants in the building. We are not the only ones that have made complaints about this.
It would be really nice to see Devon Properties actually care about the people that are living in their buildings and not just making money off of us.
It will quite interesting to see the outcome if one of the tenants gets bit by this aggressive dog knowing that there has been communication and nothing is being done by the property manager.
If you care for your sanity do not move into Devon properties. If you like a headache the this is the place for you!
25 September 2022 4:33
Stay away from Devon Properties if you care at all about the place you live in.

I moved into Ocean Terrace, a brand new apartment, in Parksville. It COULD have been a nice place to live, except it’s managed by Devon properties. It looks nice from 10 feet, but when you actually look at what’s going on it’s an absolute disaster.

The apartment was never finished and there was damage all through the brand new apartment, including damage to the walls, appliances, floor, and bathtub. All this work was promised to be completed when I took possession of the apartment. 10 months and, dozens of texts emails and phone calls later and none of it has been done. The washer and dryer haven’t worked properly in 2 months. The AC unit randomly turns off. The towel rod fell off the wall because it was never installed correctly and never fixed. I didn’t even get my storage locker that I was paying for for half a year. This building has been through 3 building managers in less than a year because Devon Properties is such a horrid company to work for and they keep quitting.

I moved out and the person doing the move out inspection told me all this work and all these problems were due to them having issues finding staff. Staffing issues don’t cause work to be left undone for 10 months.
20 September 2022 8:08
We have been providing our security service to Devon Properties for over 10 years. Number of our staff also reside at Devon managed properties. We have found their staff and management to be dedicated, professional and truly care about their residents.
25 June 2022 5:44
Horrendous business to deal with. We have yet to receive our pet/damage deposit back and will be going to court over the matter. Worst rental experience largely due to staff.
18 June 2022 1:00
Leslie harrased me until i felt so unsafe in my home i am now moving out. I filed a harrasment charge with the cops.
01 June 2022 23:21
All staff here are religious nut jobs. Management doesn’t fix reported issues, they try to impose illegal lease changes without notice, they have no basic understanding of the RTB rules and regulations, the male property managers talk to women like they are scum and less human than a man and are all around horrible human beings. Avoid these clowns like the literal plague they believe will come to remove all us “non believers” from existence. (It’s what they actually believe)
17 May 2022 13:53
We are new residents to Devon Properties at 984 McKenzie Avenue. Janusz Slodzinski is our building manager. He has been pleasant and quick to get back to us on any issue we have had since moving in. On meeting other tenants in passing everyone has the most respect for Janusz and the great job he does in his role as building manager.
14 May 2022 10:00
This is to show appreciation for our building manager not Devon Prop specifically.
Mark who looks after the Highlander on Haultain is always busy and running around to make sure the building is in top shape. He always has a smile and friendly greeting whenever I see him
11 May 2022 20:18
Patient, kind, knowledgeable, quick to respond…Mark is working 24/7 with a smile on his face. He knows everyone and listens to those who need help. An all around dedicated manager. What a pleasure to have an apartment building manager with a smile every time.
08 May 2022 23:32
The building Managers at Ocean Terrace, Renee and Iris are wonderful. So was Leanne, but she got fired the third day the new Sr Manager was on the job. All three of them have done a wonderful job of looking after problems and helping to make the moves a pleasant experience.

The Sr Manager on the other hand, I consider a power-hungry bully. His name is Mr X, funny because he is not much of a man. The second day of his employment with Devon, he took down our information and handed out keys as we paid for the first month’s rent. While waiting my turn, I explained to him that I had a bed and dresser being delivered at that time, and I would return shortly. The doors were unlocked to the suite, so no problem. I greeted the movers in the front, and guided them up in the elevator. Upon arrival at the suite, I discovered that he had come to the suite and locked the door. Fortunately, I found Leanne, who unlocked the door for us. (That May be why she was fired by him). Bad enough we were homeless for four months, waiting for construction to be complete (not Devon’s fault), but then to be treated this way is unimaginable.

Since then, he has taped notices on all doors with messages. The first was regarding our lockers. He was not organized enough to keep track of which belonged to who, so he threatened us with a warning that he would remove the contents and rekey the locks if we didn’t report to him which locker each of us are in.

The next little gem was that anyone caught smoking on their balcony may result in eviction. He requested that we rat on each other, giving him “details and/or evidence”.

His behaviour is known. Yet he remains. I wonder, are the people who hired him any better? Your request for feedback is a mystery to me. You seem to indicate that you care, window dressing. I’m thinking a chance of litigation, elder abuse, on His Bulliness’s part. Does Devon even care about their reputation?

I've been living at the same apartment building for the past 15yrs and I've seen building managers come and go, but there is one that sticks out better then the rest and that is Mark Pavia. Mark has been and continues to be an absolute wonderful, friendly manager. I don't think I've seen anyone work as hard as he does. He strives to get the work done. He is thoughtful, understanding, personable and honestly wants the best for his tenants. I couldn't have asked for a better manager, and lucky to have him manage my building. If there is anyone that deserves to be recognized as a valuable Devon Properties employee, it's Mark!

Edit: I have increased my rating for 1 to 2 stars as the head office staff have been responsive and good to deal with.

Our building manager Mark is amazing. He gets everything done in a timely manner, and the building is always in great shape. He was really helpful when I moved in and has continued to be great for the entire time I’ve lived at Cranmere. No complaints.

Living at 1488 2 1/2 years.
Great location for walking: ‍️downtown, Cook St village, Govt House, coffee, dining, theatre, harbour, work, etc (should mention that the noise from construction on Johnson St is so very loud & annoying). I like that 1488 is a concrete build as well as the open nature of the building. Victoria has quite high rent prices / sq ft ; wish there were more features for the money spent (eg, guest room/parking, gym for residents, free parking…) which friends have at their residences (Langley). I suggest that company communication of rules/expectations could be communicated more consistently/ explicitly across the residence (eg, we chose this property for location AND it’s completely non-smoking but some tenants smoke and the smoke immediately fills our apartment, especially during warm summer days).
I want to also give a big shout-out to our property manager: from my own experiences, even at the best of times managing is never easy, yet our manager has adeptly balanced the opposing & challenging demands of tenants vs Devon management hierarchy. And she has done this with grace, dedication, consistency, and a great sense of humour…all during a global pandemic no-less!
Well done

Unprofessional company with little regard for confidentiality. I wanted to give zero stars but it wouldn't let me.

Lived here for about 15 years, never had a problem, things are always fixed when need, great relationship with Mark!

Mark at Woodridge building in Oak Bay is one of the most hard working people I have encountered. He is always there when you call or message him about any issue no matter how big or small. He is consistently seen at his buildings into the evenings and on weekends as well. He will go out of his way to help you when he can. He also takes the time to know his residents which adds another layer to how great he is! I feel lucky to have Mark as the building manager!
13 April 2022 16:52
Mark is a very capable and hard working manager, with always a smile and acknowledgement of your name whenever you see him.

Mark has been wonderful, selfless and kind. Constantly goes out of his way to ensure things run well. Well done Mark!
07 April 2022 12:33
A year ago when my partner and I were excited to rent at the regent towers as they advertised a dog friendly building with a perfect little grass patch in the front.
They carefully worded the contract in a way that disguised a massive construction project taking place directly on the advertised patch of grass for the pups that got underway just 6 months after moving in. They will not allow us to break our lease even though we have been able to find ample amounts of worthy renters on our own who are more than willing to take the lease.
My partner and pup are only a few of the many who feel deceived by this dishonourable way of business.

We are very happy with Blair Jensen our building manager. He is very accessible and responds quickly to issues. He’s also very pleasant and takes the time to connect as he goes about his busy day.

We are really appreciated to building manger 1202 harwood pacific cove Wayne Young who is a great guy with nice personality and really cares about our building! We are so glad to live in this building with Dear Wayne management.thanks a lot for everything

Ignore tenants when there is an issue and don’t have proper communication. As well as they don’t force tenants to follow the quiet hours rules.
Also in the winter the snow and ice wasn’t shovled/iced and my daughter took a hard fall, I called them to discuss it and no one got back to me.
01 April 2022 11:42
Its almost 3 years for me in this Devon building and I cannot be more thankful and grateful for the work done by Mark Pavia. Thank you Mark for your kindness, support and your smiling face through all your hard work day & night. All respect.
