You know I pass by this place everyday and always wonder. We’ll today I stopped in there and oh my let me tell you something. This is straight up a hidden gem the food is unreal! The service is top notch! Definitely going back! The patties are unreal and the jerk chicken is the best I’ve ever had!

I used to spend a lot of time here and the food was always great. I stopped in a few weeks ago for some Jerk Pork and patties. Patties were great and the same as before. The jerk pork was absolutely terrible, dry dehydrated pork, very little meat, almost impossible to chew and the portion size was shockingly small. Rice and peas was mushy, almost as though it had been reheated. Absolutely zero flavor. Generous portion of rice but a waste as it was barely edible. Cornbread was good.

All in all, I won’t be returning. To spend that kind of money for a meal that ended up in a trash can is not acceptable to me.

Loved the vibe and food was delicious. Hot sauce was indeed spicy. Use sparingly.

Nice atmosphere, Great service, even better food! Do yourself a favour, and stop in and treat yourself to a Patty and a Red stripe!

Food is not good gritty. I ordered the ox tail and curry goat. It's sad that this is what they have to offer as Jamaican food

Pretty expensive and not very much of it rice was cold had to buy a couple Jamaican patties to fill up on going out the door they were good

Thank God this place is open again! I left a great review a long time ago but looks like it disappeared. Love the warm Jamaican patties here which make your body feel so good and the authentic peaceful vibes here are amazing. This place makes me happy to be in an otherwise sometimes nightmarish area.

This place is a jewel. The food is amazing, servive excellent and the music fantastic. Didn’t get to try the plantains today but their oaxtail and the jerk pork were out of this world.

Great tasting authentic food cooked with love and passion, family owned and operated. The place is clean and inviting with a great ambiance and it's a place that you want to sit down and enjoy your meal with friends!
OMG try the Oxtail, try the Roti, try the Brown Stew Chicken everything's good!
If you're not sure ask the staff what they suggest or what the special might be they are warm and friendly every time! Even the soft drinks are authentic!
Even with the whole Pandemic thing you can still order your favourite food and eat in or take out!
My favourite are the Jamaican patties with Ackee and Saltfish but anything in the menu can be taken home!

We ordered a beef patty and jerk chicken dinner. We were really excited because it seemed promising but when we actually ate the food, it was mediocre, at best. The rice and peas didn't even taste like rice and peas (the rice was also undercooked). The chicken did not taste like jerk chicken but worse, it lacked any flavor - completely bland. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Save your money and go elsewhere for authentic jerk.

Great sized portion, good flavours, has a little patio outside. Ordered the jerk chicken and oxtail this time (pictured), have also had the curry goat and patties previously. Saw that someone said the jerk was too spicy, but I didn't find the jerk spicy at all.

I ordered the Oxtail dish. There were dumplings, potatoes and carrots in the sauce. There was a fried ball of bread on the side. It was mild, delicious and filling. My boyfriend ordered the Jerk Chicken. It was two drumsticks. He thought it was too spicy but he's not used to eating spicy food. The two fried plantains on the side where delicious!

You took me back way before most you were born in the early 80s.
I was doing my chefs practical training at the Rose Hall Beach Hotel in Montego Bay. I would sneak off to Black River to swim in the interior of Jamaica, where this little restaurant served rum cake with a shot of rum and a red stripe on the side.
I just moved into this area, i was walking by this morning looking into my new neighborhood. I seen this beautiful sign “ Di Reggae Cafe”. Two blocks from home.
I looked up you guys on the Internet, looked on the menu into my wonderment and delight there it is “ Rum Cake! So I headed down just as the sun was setting the moon is rising to me the it taste of the Caribbean at home. I’ll be looking into more of the menu next few months to come.

The portions are small and expensive.

I got the oxtail lunch meal which cost 21.50 and had barely any oxtail.

The other one we got was ackee and saltfish which cost 19.50 and also barely had any protein in it.

The beef patty I got looks and tastes exactly the same as a grocery store bought one except it costs 4 dollars.

The presentation was pretty good though.

The lowest setting on the tip was 18%. This was a little bit irritating after I had paid dinner prices but got lunch portions of food.

Overall the meal was very carb heavy. I wish there was more oxtail and/or sauce to go with the rice. It was a nice experience but I can't recommend it because the portions were carb heavy and there was so little protein and sauce to go with it. I felt like I was paying for just rice and macaroni. The quality just isn't quite there, sorry.

A beef patty, ackee and saltfish, oxtail meal, and 1 rum cake was 58 dollars. Not worth it imo.

Good Caribbean food. The portions could be a bit more for the price. But a good experience nonetheless.

Disappointed. It's been a few years since I came here. Last few times my order wasn't correct and they didn't have some food items. This weekend was no difference for my takeout order. I ordered an oxtail meal with dumplins (no dumplings in my order) also a second order of just oxtail. However, they just placed a few extra oxtail on top of my meal order.
This wasn't worth the $34 I spent.
On top of that I sat for awhile finding out she didn't even place my order and asked me what did I order again.

Ordered ahead and it was waiting. Nice! Service was excellent.
My chicken roti was 100%. Also got the Oxtail stew fingerlickin' good. I'm a fan of Di Reggae Cafe.

Shamoya is very pleasant and patient, she always smile and seems friendly. I appreciate the service she gave all the time I'm there. Nice place to relax.
