I phoned Alex at Dr. Appliance to tell him that our 20-year-old washing machine, with a full load of laundry, had filled with water but then wouldn't continue to the wash cycle. He promised to come the next morning - which he did, right on time. This visit was to give me a quote.

Within five minutes he had diagnosed the problem. He had the necessary part in his truck and the fix was completed on the spot. He also fixed some loose screws in the lid of the washing machine while he was here.

I found Alex to be personable, polite, and knowledgeable. His price was reasonable, especially considering I was looking at new machines costing around $1000.

I would highly recommend Dr. Appliance based on my experience today.
Added note: I chose Dr. Appliance in part because he had an A+ rating the Better Business Bureau, and from reviews.

Scheduling a service with him was incredibly convenient, and he proved to be exceptionally punctual.

Upon conducting a thorough diagnostic on my dryer, he demonstrated a level of honesty that surpassed my expectations. Unlike other technicians I've encountered, he didn't attempt to overcharge me; instead, he accurately assessed the issue and provided a fair and transparent service.

Alex was extremely skilled, knowledgeable fast and friendly. I called him late on a Friday evening. He then arrived sooner then he expected, the best part was HE WAS HONEST and FAIR. He will forever be at the top of my list! Oh ya he would not accept a tip for his work. Thank you

I had my washer broken on a Sunday night and on Monday 1pm it was fixed. Alex called me prior to the visit, told me what could be the issues and brought the parts with him. He was knowledgeable, fast and the communication was great. I found it a little pricey, but might be due to the expensive parts. I will definitely call them when I have an emergency.

Came out on a Sunday long weekend. Diagnosed the problem real fast. Had the part and now my fridge is working again!

This is the second time using Alex. He is great at deciding what's wrong and how to fix it, and he did. He's also honest about whether it's worth fixing or whether a new appliance is needed. I would recommend Alex to my friends and anyone else who may ask.

We contacted this company because they were highly reviewed on the Internet. Alex came to look at our dryer, and he tried the most obvious things and charged us for a call out. He did say that this may not work, as he thought the water pump was the problem, but that he would come back for free, which, incidentally, he had to do. He again tried some less obvious things to save us money instead of replacing the water pump right away. This again didn’t work and so ultimately, the water pump was later replaced and all we were charged for was the part. Alex could’ve saved himself all this hassle by replacing the water pump right away, but we appreciated him trying to save us money first. Alex is very kind, knowledgeable, informative, willing to engage in dialogue, and we highly recommend his company. We certainly feel like we have found our go-to appliance person!

I called Dr Appliance on a Saturday when my washing machine went kaput and he showed up almost right away (lucky me!) but when he came, the machine suddenly worked again so he gave us some advices, told us to give him a call if it happened again & left without charging. Sure enough, it stopped working again after few weeks. This time he came and figured out what was wrong with our rather old machine, estimated what would have cost if we decided to fix it vs option of buying a new set. We ended up with a new one so he set up everything prepared for the new set to come. Overall it was a pleasant experience with Alex. He’s considerate, knowledgeable. I definitely will call him again if I need help with my appliances. One plus point is that he’s local and can arrange time to come quickly as you know how stressful is it with a broken machine in a house, we always need some kind of solution/disclosure asap.

Well, I paid more than $200 for repairing my refrigerator and he failed. He came over again for free but failed again. He said he’s going to order a part but never contacted me back. I used another company and it took less than an hour to get them fixed the issue. The problem was the heating coil not the temperature adjust sensor you were going to order.just to let you know.

Saw good reviews for this company and so decided to contact Alex. Very responsive. Arrived at my home and went straight to work and fixed my dryer. No more squeaking. Fair pricing for labour and parts. Saved me from buying a brand new washer/dryer!

Great experience with Alex! We had a leaky fridge. I tried to find a local company but it seemed a lot of the web sites were run by a company out of Toronto. I eventually found Dr Appliance and very glad I did. I had done some research on the issue and had some theories and Alex did a good job listening. He explained the pricing clearly. When he arrived he took off his shoes and went right to work. He had it figured out and fixed in about 15 minutes! I would recommend Alex and Dr Appliance!

He got down to work without fuss and haste, carried out diagnostics and identified the cause of the breakdown, it turned out that the drain pump flew. It was inexpensive to repair the washing machine with the replacement of two sensors, including cleaning the drain system. A normal technician, he substantiated everything he did. I have no remarks, he provided a guaranteefor his work.
