It was a nice sales experience with Rick, but the "store closing" sale didn't really reflect in the price of the furniture I wanted. Asked when the store was closing, they didn't know. I ordered some furniture, paid half down on good faith, with the balance to be paid on delivery. Then they asked for the balance to be paid two days BEFORE delivery. I refused, wanting to inspect the delivery as ordered and in good order, quite willing to pay ON delivery as I had agreed. They refused, so I cancelled the order.

Had a good experience looking around, with a salesperson. They have some nice quality furniture. Some canadian made, which is our goal.

EXTRAORDINARILY AWFUL customer service department! It's actually zero star rating. I purchased an expensive custom Elran couch from Dodd's. The leather is mismatched and the recliner electric mechanism is faulty. Dodd's has one customer service person "Tina" who looks after the whole island and has 600 complaints that she cannot get to. I've been waiting 6 MONTHS to have my problem resolved (couch arrived July 29,2022). They never let you talk to Tina as she is always in a meeting. "just email her". But she never emails you back. They hired one person "cole" who they have since "reshuffled staff" and he is now gone. He at least got the couch looked at by service to confirm it is a manufacturing issue. Now he is gone so I am in Tina's never ending waiting room. I would NEVER buy an expensive product from this distributor again. Go to Urban Barn. They are lovely!

Over the past 3 months I have bought numerous items at Dodd's Furniture. Tristan Tolley served me every time and he was absolutely amazing.

I bought 3 book shelves, sofa, love seat, extra large ottoman, king queen and twin mattresses and boxsprings, coat rack, and lamp. I LOVE every single piece and I would highly recommend going to Dodd's and having Tristan help you.

I live in the Kelowna area and my father on Vancouver island. Back in October of 2022 I spoke with Chanvir Batra in Nanaimo. We had arranged to have a recliner delivered to my father for his 90th birthday. The day before the delivery a situation arose beyond Mr. Batra's control and delivery was not going to be possible. To say I was heartbroken would be an understatement. Within 30 minutes Mr. Batra called me back with a solution to the issue. I feel that Mr. Batra went above and beyond to make me happy and I am grateful for the excellent customer service from this gentleman. I would highly recommend this salesperson/Manager. I would also like to extend my gratitude to the delivery people who were excellent and very accommodating to a 90 year old man. Thank you all, a very satisfied customer.

Purchased two recliner chairs in 2021, it took 8 Months for delivery One chair malfunctioned wi months after receiving it.
Reported the issue to Dodds and have been waiting nearly 1 year for warranty work. Numerous phone calls have resulted in no action by the store.

I recently spent 2k on a new mattress there. When I went to pay, I was told the only way to get their 120 guarantee was to buy their mattress protector and so I did. When I got home, I looked over the paperwork I was given on the 120 day guarantee and no where on it does it say I need the mattress protector to qualify for it. My gf went back in to try to cancel just the mattress protector and upon talking to a guy named CJ, he said they couldn't do it as it would void the 120 day guarantee. Id be very weary shopping at this store. I won't be shopping there again.

I had a pine bed delivered in August. There was a fairly large chip out of the wood in plain view as you walked into the room. The delivery people reported it to the store. I have made 6 phone calls to find a solution. Calls are simply not returned. When I call. I am told they are looking into it? I am told they will call right back. I am told they will call tomorrow. I explained that the damage was there at delivery. It was reported by your staff.no solution and still not returning calls. I have purchased several pieces of furniture from Dodds over the years. I will not purchase anything from them again. Very unhappy with my smashed up new bed and terrible service. Dodds, shame on you!

Here is the difference between Dodds and the big national chains, we went to the Brick and were eventually greeted by a sales person who said if you need me I will be here on the couch (on her phone texting) we left with zero interaction and went to Dodds and Bill greeted us immediately and directed us to where we needed to be, answered all our questions, checked on us regularly and was a pleasure to deal with. They unlike the Brick will enjoy a lot of new business from us in the future.

I shopped at Dodds back in April for a new couch and kitchen table for my home before the arrival of my baby in June. While my shopping experience was pleasant, once I'd spent over 3k, including extended coverage - that service stopped abruptly.

I negotiated a deal for a table and couch saving close to 800$ Total. Even though the total seemed a bit pricey I was happy with the negotiation and awaited delivery which would be ~1 month later - no problem. Delivery day comes and they bring me the entirely wrong table. Thankfully I have photos of the one that was agreed to at the sale 1 month prior - I call the store and the sales agent tells me he "thought" I wanted this other table (a much cheaper looking one that doesn't work in my small space) - and the one I want is actually 400$ more.seems shady but then after some pressing they agree to replace it with the one I had initially asked for. Another month goes by - its now the end of May and my baby is due in 3 weeks. Replacement table shows up a week or so later.the finish is completely cracked. This is the first time I've splurged on new furniture and it arrives damaged, even the delivery guys said it was unacceptable.so I call again. They ask me to email photos, so I do. (Delivery guys also take photos). They offer to replace with another (of the same) table to arrive in a few weeks. THIRD table shows up - scratched worse than the second. Same issue with the finish plus big scratches on the finish on top. (Photos attached) Again, I email and call. They agree it's not acceptable and let me know my original table has now been re-finished and they can replace the replacement with the fixed one. But it'll be another month. (early July). I even call back AGAIN 2 weeks later to double check delivery and I'm assured it will be delivered within 2 weeks. Cut to today.here I am half way through August with a 9 week old baby and still a scratched table and no word from Dodds. I know everyone is short staffed right now but this level of service and quality is just unacceptable for a first time customer and new mom who spent over 3k in store just to be run around for 3 months and end up with damaged goods and no resolution.

Thanks for the deal Dodds, but it wasn't worth the hassle. Next time I'll be shopping elsewhere.

The Sales Associate, Emily Frankcom of Dodd’s Furniture & Mattress assisted me the other day ordering a new Sofa and Love Seat. She was very professional, efficient and actually listened to my needs. I appreciated that she took the time to fully understand what my need were and as a result she was able to assist me in my decision making. Also she explained the ordering process to me thoroughly and ensured that I understood.

The Dodd's staff and customer service are amazing. We were looking for a specific kind of power recline chair for my mother-in-law. The available chair in Nanaimo was great but we were hoping for black. Alyssa helped us find a black one in Victoria and saw it delivered to my house. The delivery guys loaded the box right into my SUV so I could take it to mother in law's place in Ladysmith. Once we set up the chair at my mother in law's house we tested it. On the 2nd reclined it stopped working, would not go back up. We contacted the store, Courtney from Nanaimo called us back and had their technicians come to us in Ladysmith same day, within an hour. The chair wouldn't work, Dodds agreed to replace it with the red/brown one in Nanaimo. I was able to take the broken chair to the store in Nanaimo next day to exchange. The replacement works perfectly! Dodds staff and service were amazing and friendly the entire time. We are very happy.

I went to Dodd's to purchase a sofa. I found one and was told by the salesperson that I could choose another upholstery and/or she would check to see if I could purchase the floor model. She gave me her email address and directed me to a website to choose fabric and said she would check to see if floor model could be sold. This was nearly 2 weeks ago. I have emailed her twice, called her 3 times and no one is responding. Very poor customer service. Very poor communication. I would not recommend this store as they cannot seem to manage simple query's and requests.

Decent furniture, but the warranty is brutal if you have to use it. If you're buying in the hope to be able to have a warranty for 5 years then stick to the Brick or Costco. If you want to support a local business and don't really care about quality or warranty then dodds is a good choice.

Read on. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! Purchased a set here with extended warranty. One piece had to be exchanged and it was done so with no issues! My son lost his iPod (so we thought!). Dodds in Victoria called us a few weeks later saying they found an iPod that belonged to my son. They arranged to return it to the Nanaimo location so we could pick it up. My son is over the moon excited he got his iPod back. (It has fallen into the couch that was being replaced)

Dodd’s has always been my place to go when I lived in Victoria, and now it will be again here in nanoose bay! I had the pleasure and absolute blast of working with Sharon! She made it fun and incredibly easy. She got as enthused as I did and got arms deep with me as I designed my living room as if it were her own! I couldn’t have asked for a more helpful partner in this and the entire team was wonderful and always asked if we needed help. They were informative and even made sure we had all the measurements we needed to make informed decisions and colours!
There are many rooms to a house and expect me back again!

I was so impressed with my service at Dodds. When the sectional I bought was delivered I knew right away that it was all wrong for the space. I was so worried that I was going to be stuck but Dan and Rick helped me return it and were super nice about the whole thing. Hands down the best customer service I've received from a Nanaimo furniture store.

I went to Dodd’s Furniture in Nanaimo under somewhat stressful circumstances (buying for my sister to go to an Assisted Living Home). When delivered there was a problem with the bed. They assured me not to worry, they would get a new one there the next morning. Sure enough, by 9: 30 am they had called & had it delivered & set up by 10: 30 am. Great customer service by all the staff from the people in the store to the delivery guys.

Had a feel good experience as soon as I walked in. Sharon greeted me but with no pressure. We came in for a bistro set which they didn’t have the right style/colour but found an unreal deal on two leather swivel tub chairs which we ordered. Now we are probably going back for a king mattress also in a few weeks.

We went to Dodd’s in Victoria to look for kitchen stools for our Parksville home. We received very helpful service with no pressure. Robert was very knowledgeable and when he determined that they did not have our desired product in stock, he arranged to have the stools sent from another store to Nanaimo - closer for us to pick up. The price listed on the tag was what we paid, taxes included. Delightful experience - thank you!

I was totally amazed at finding a power controlled couch today for a far better price than the one I waiting for. Plus I get delivery tomorrow. So I cancelled my order with the Other place and bought the couch at Dodd’s. Exceptional sale. I will be going back.

I contacted Dodd's through a text message from their website, asking for a quote. The salesman Dan got back to me quickly with a price, which was lower than the competition. The rest of the sale went really smooth and Dan was easy to deal with and in the end gave me a more than fair purchase price, especially since it is a custom order. I can hardly wait for my new furniture to arrive!

Couldn't complain about a thing. Both women who helped me were exactly that, helpful. Not pushy, not in my face, let me browse, and offered other selections at appropriate times. When the trainee was ringing us through she took a little longer, but communicated and engaged us a comfortable amount while we were waiting. Super pleased.

We met with David Wilson one of the salesmen and when we left we had purchased a loveseat exactly what we wanted and for a good price. We are very happy and are expecting delivery next week.
