I went back recently and have dropped my review from 5 stars to 3. It went way downhill from when they were on the waterfront in White Rock. Maybe new management/chefs?

It used to be very spicy authentic Sichuan food with home-made pickled veggies. The Suan Cai Yu Pian Tang was amazing. This time it was bland - tastes like a Cantonese version of Sichuan food or something. Pickles weren't sour, and the spiciest soup on the menu wasn't spicy at all.

Old review, for old location: You would never guess from the name or the exterior. Best Sichuan in the area. You need to be able to take the heat, but the 'sour vegetable fish', and the 'water braised beef' are as good as the best you will find in Chengdu.

Small portion size, slow service

The dishes are getting smaller and smaller. $25 for a dish gets you an appetizer portion.

Often, there is only one lady working outside the kitchen. Service is very slow. She won't have time to refill your water or tea.

I was deceived by the pictures on review pages. The dishes tasted terrible, looked unpleasant, even not eatable. I guess that those pictures posted online were false ones. Who would possibly take pictures during mealtime and post online?

To say the food is delicious is an understatement. LOVED it! The meal was loaded with complex and a different flavour that will keep me coming back for more. I recommend the Lamb with bone and cumin, and the ginger beef crispy.
The servers were friendly and the food arrived quickly and hot.

Giving 3 stars for atmosphere because there was a large family with yelling kids. Not the restaurants fault, but people should be mindful that nobody wants to hear their kids yelling in a restaurant.

Restaurant waiters are less, we had a terrible waiting experience, so I don't want to give the tips, but the cashier didn't let us go, and added $20, then asked me to pay, it made me so upset

Very authentic Sichuan food. This is our go-to spot for spicy Chinese food in the community for the past 5 years. We buy tons of take out for family dinners and parties.

Great food. Not sure if there is a new chef but food was noticeably better than before. Not that before was bad but now it is great. Looking forward to my next meal from here!

The service elder sister of this store is still very caring, just like the elder sister next door, she is enthusiastic. But the product is really average. The pickled fish is made of longli fish fillets, and the taste of this fish is very poor. The cumin mutton is not hand-cut mutton at all, it looks like pieces of mutton, all rotten, and the price is not cheap. Generally speaking, Sichuan cuisine is very oily and not very healthy. I give three stars, the merchant needs to further improve the dishes.
