Donair city gyros

Good portion, very saucy. Chicken could have used more spices (cumin, paprika, all spice whatever they use on the chicken it could have used more). Garlic sauce could have been more flavourful

Hours are very inconsistent and havent been able to return. It is Saturday lunch and closed again. Update: No holiday hour signs or door notice

I’ve been eating here since I was a teenager. The portions are generous and the food is delicious. The owner is very nice. 10/10

Goodness, what are people thinking rating 4.7 average? I ordered a variety of plates and donairs and regretted every item. I'll succintly lay out the mediocreness of the food in order of greatest disappointment:
Meat: Indistinugishable what meat is what and can't even tell it's meat by taste and texture, it put me in mind of vegetarian "meat. "
Sauce: Great slabs of salty Tzatziki style yoghurt sauce that drowned my donair. It's a simple way to obscure poor meat quality and certainly does not make up for it.
Rice: Lack fragrance, somewhat compensated by it being cooked to the right level of chewiness.

For what it's worth, the hot sauce was nice and salad was fresh, but if you have any standard for lovingly prepared meat or a well-rounded proper meal, this is not the place to go.

For those looking for further tips on how to spot a good donair joint - if it's a shop of this size, at lunch and dinner hours, you should see dedicated counter staff and dedicated kitchen staff and a flow of customers and Uber drivers waiting and leaving with their orders. None of that was found at this restaurant, and it's no wonder.

Great tasting donair. Got a regular falafel and it felt like I got a super. The portion was huge! Definitely great value!

The boss most likely here, small shop but have a few table for sit in dinning. Food is fresh and tasty, donair is well price and decent size. Most of the donairs are $10. You can get your order in 5 minutes. This place has been here at maple ridge for quite some time, this is such a good place to grab a healthy meal which I will continue to eat here when I pass by maple ridge again.

At one time or another I have been to all the donair restaurants in Maple Ridge. This one stands out as the best. Great price for the portions received. My dog Angus just stares at me waiting for something to fall. He loves the gyros too.

My wife and I moved to Maple Ridge summer of 2021 and go here as often as we can the food is amazing the owner is so nice and is always accommodating. Our go to is a Hawaiian chicken salad hers with extra hot sauce and always have been impressed by the quality and the amount we get. We have tried other donair places in Maple Ridge and they aren't bad but nothing beats Donair City Gyro's. We can never agree on what we feel like for take out but anytime either of us suggest Donair City its always a yes from either of us. I highly recommend to any one in the area its a must get! Can't wait to get our for dinner today

Couldn't find a better donair in town! I mean the portion is insane! The taste is even better! I went there for lunch, the normal portion was so large I could not eat dinner anymore!

Best Donair in all of the lower mainland, and best I have EVER had! So flavourful, great pricing, great portions! Usually I’m left hungry, but this is spot on! Have been coming here since I was a kid and will continue to come back forever. Owners are extremely friendly, place is always clean, and smells wonderful as soon as you walk in. A must try! Thank you!

Best Donairs I've had in Maple Ridge, and the surrounding areas. I've tried many others and always regret not having driven the few extra minutes to come to get my favourite chicken Donair.

My partner loves the mixed beef and lamb Donair, says they're way better than anywhere else we've tried.

Also if you're craving a Greek salad, try theirs. It's freshly made when you order it and has so much flavour. (I'm not "allowed" to buy Greek salad from anywhere else since I brought one of Donair city's home for my honey)

Portion sizes are huge and the people seem very nice, but for me the flavour and seasoning was a bit plain.

My son and I each ordered a beef Donair, this was our first time at this location. OMG absolutely amazing, couldn't have been any better, will definitely go back.

Donair City came highly recommended. They did not disappoint. Portions are huge, it was all extremely good and tasty. We will definitely go back and tell everyone we know where the best Donair is!

Was in Maple Ridge for the day so stopped at Donair City Gyros. Got a beef wrap, two chicken wraps, and one plate with chicken and lamb. Chris told me he and Pary have been there for 20 years so obviously doing things right.
I think this was the most food I've ever had from similar types. The wraps were huge. The plate had rice hiding under a mountain of both meats, a white sauce, lettuce and cucumber salad, red onion, tomato, and tzatziki. I actually had enough left over for a second lunch!

This place has the biggest and best donairs and not expensive either. I went here for the first time in 2004 and not much has changed. Still awesome.

Great family run business who care about quality, value, and service. Not only that, but their super donairs (extra meat) will definitely fill the emptiest of stomachs.so big, they need 2 pitas to keep them together!
Their Greek Salad is also a great value! If you are passing through Maple Ridge, and want the best donairs you've ever had, make sure and stop in for this local treat!

The best Donair place I've been to. CLEAN. The meat is prepared properly and safely and is always good. Is the classic hole-in-the-wall with great food. The only critique is they're closed Sunday and probably costing themselves a lot of business from hungry customers.

So I gave them 5 stars but there are some concerns that I will lay out here. First of all there is a sign that states there is no public washroom, that"s just not good considering there is seating for a dozen or so people. Secondly, the signage is unclear to what kind of a meal is being offered for the price, I suspect that they offer more than donairs here but I am not quite sure since the menu has not been defined well enough for me to know this beyond the fact that I can see a guy at one of the tables eating something other than a donair. And finally, the place is messy.

But here's the thing, what they do well is make fantastic donairs at a really great price and so the quality of the food overshadows the other shortcomings of this establishment enough to earn them full mark's.

My husband and I been eating here for a long time and I can say that they serve amazing food. The flavors are always there.

Been serving me since high school! This is simply the best bang for your buck in the lower mainland. Ask for the man sized chicken caesar and welcome a NFL football sized donair.
