Donair Town Robson

I wanted to share my recent experience at the Afghan Dolanır shop, and unfortunately, it left me feeling quite disappointed. The customer service I received was, in my opinion, exceptionally rude. I believe good customer service is crucial for a positive shopping experience, and I hope that improvements can be made in this aspect.

During my visit, that contributed to my perception of the service as rude. I understand that everyone has challenging days, but I believe fostering a more customer-friendly atmosphere could greatly enhance the overall satisfaction of patrons.

Good food, but the service was far from friendly. I was the only one there and the gentleman preparing my salad rushed through the prep, didn't ask which ingredients I wanted. Had to constantly push him to add more of this or that, and ask for the included pita.

NO WASHROOM

Lovely, friendly staff and great affordable food. The falafel was a perfect consistency and the rice is amazing! Nothing dry or dull about this place, just delicious! Sediqi, will brighten your day too:)

This is one of my favourite restos here in the lower mainland. The price is great for the portion that you get. But most importantly the food is really good. Servers are friendly and I love the interior of the restaurant. A must eat spot!
Can’t wait to come back.

Healthy food with strong protein and great size with well-equipped and professional service

We were trying to order and find the menu. And because we ordered from somewhere else already. And I wanted to try this place as well. We got told that we weren't allowed to order here. And leave. Then the guy started yelling at me and my bf who was in a wheelchair to get out. They discriminate against disabilities. And people trying to buy their food. Let alone look at the menu that they have. Do not eat here. I repeat Do not eat here. The manager and owner are absolutely disgraceful and Are the most rudest people I have ever encountered.

One of the best chicken shawarma plates I’ve had in Vancouver. Must try! It’s a small set up they have there but that doesn’t stop people from going. They’re always crowded so be ready to wait a while for ordering. The service is pretty quick though!

This is a hidden gem in Vancouver. I absolutely love these guy's Donairs and chicken platters. Everything's fresh and hot, you want it extra spicy he'll do it. Awesome prices and he's so friendly. Definitely my go to donair place!

My family and I were in Vancouver for 2 weeks from 9th December. The shop is right across the road from our hotel and the first time we went there, we were welcomed so nicely by the two gentlemen working there at night. We just loved the hospitality shown by them.

Food was so awesome we kept coming back there for a few nights after just so we could get the nice hot plate of chicken shawarma rice and donair fries platter which my boys love! They keep asking for it everytime we go out!

Today was a snow day in Vancouver, I came with my two kids to pick up a takeout order. The guys were prompt and very understanding that kids were whining at that point. They even stopped me as I was leaving to share a lollipop for each child. I was surprised and I really very much appreciate the kind gesture. My kids are 2 and 4 and they loved the meal! I will definitely be supporting this place and keep coming back. Again, reminded me to warm up amidst the cold and be kind. Thank you for showing a gesture of kindness to my children. It brought a smile to their faces and a lighter weight on my shoulder. This is what life and community is about.

The place is run by a couple and they seem lovely.
The food is delicious and you get a lot for the price.
Definitely recommend.

This was the best shawarma plate that I've ever had. Everything was fresh and the flavours really popped in my mouth. The staff were kind and welcoming. We visited in July, so we ate outside and were well taken care of when we needed something. I definitely plan to return next time I'm in Vancouver.

I love shawarma and I’ve eaten it around the world. Afghani is legit. They use a masala that isn’t present in Turkish or Iranian shawarma. It’s very tasty, almost like a curry chicks but with roasted on a giant spit tastes.

My only complaint is the sauces are a bit too drippy and the donair is soaked. The tziki especially. That spicy red sauce is to die for.

Tasty fast food. Good first experience. Will definitely come back to try other tasty sandwiches!

Definitely up there with the best donair spots in the city, and the donair does not fall apart whatsoever which is a major factor.

Get the number 1 its so good huge and filling. I cant wait to have it again when i come back. The sauces are so good its perfect. I felt good all day after eating there i dident even need diner. I would eat it every day if i could.

Oh My God! Tastiest chicken wrap downtown. All halal. This is the best chicken wrap on Robson + Denman St. It was so delicious, flavorful, and spicy because ai asked for it, the sauce was amazing! The staff is super friendly too. I’ll gladly be visiting regularly. And another thing, food actually looks like what it is advertised as. Beautiful to look at too!

Friendly and caring service that goes above and beyond to make sure you get the best meal possible. This place is the real deal! The recipes are similar to other kebabs I’ve had in the past but with authentic Afghan flavours and touches. Whether it’s a quick snack on the go or a meal before a night out the family of Afghani Kabul Kebab has you covered.

I was really hungry after a long haul flight from Aus and popped into this place as it caught my eye.

Delicious lunch for a very reasonable price. The chicken wrap was so flavorful and the chicken rice plate was similarly amazing. Very friendly and quick service, too. The "to go" packaging made it really easy to eat in the park. Thanks so much for a great meal.

I bought 2 shawrma plates and the chicken was so burnt and dry, you could tell it was at least 1-2 days old. The service is usually good especially if the younger guys are there as the main owner doesnt take criticism well and has no customer service skills. When the food is fresh the place is amazing but not everyday is like that.

The wrap has a lot bread since they overlap two pita bread inside each other. The food has value for the money. Felafel was over priced and served with ketchup.

Best donair place in town. Everyone is very friendly and provide top notch customer service. They offer very tasty foods and huge portions. I highly recommend this place

Ordered the beef one. The beef was dry and some parts were overcooked- you can’t chew some portions at all.

We went there for a late night craving and were surprised as it was better than what we expected.
Very nice people with decent food in good portion at reasonable price.
I only didn’t like their samosa and everything else was very good

The donair was excellent, big portion, with even mixture of contents. They had the 'Maritime Cream's sauce which I hadn't tried before which was a nice new discovery, sweet and tart. Friendly and efficient service.

Huge and tasty donair sandwiches the goat/beef tasted much better than the chicken, but both were really good! The place is clean, the service is friendly and the sandwiches delicious! Especially after a long bike ride around Stanley park! ;)

Ahh their food is amazing. So clean and just the perfect amount. Staffs are also so friendly and take caution for allergy (I am allergic to sesame, so they refrained from using tahini)

Honestly. I went in after reading the reviews thinking that it can't be so bad.sth must be wrong with the reviews.the food is below average good.come on kebab is a safe menu it can't be so bad but then this kebab was very disappointing

Well-run operation with good prices, but the food is on the mediocre side of ok. The chicken in the wrap didn't have much of a taste.

Went with my friends awhile ago. I was the only one planning on getting anything but they tried some of mine and had to get their own. Really delicious spicy sauce and affordable price. Owner was really nice and even gave us a free rice dish.highly recommend

Try the Afghani Poutine! I love this place and the owner is so friendly too. The food is fresh and delicious and great care it taken with every order. This is our favourite donair in Vancouver, so glad that this new restaurant opened up in the West End:)

GUYS. Listen, this place is a real hidden gem. I've been living next door for the longest time & only just now got to trying it— the food absolutely blew me away. Every ingredient was so meticulously prepared, from the saffron-infused rice to the multi-layered salad to the absurdly delicious donair. The people lining up outside of Chung Chun's for a cheese dog are SLEEPING ON DONAIR TOWN. Get #8, it's the best. The flavor is unbeatable & unmatched, and I've travelled thru 38 countries, including Greece. It's 10: 24am and all I'm thinking about right now is getting more as I write this review. OH, and it's so dang *affordable* ugh why didn't I try this place sooner?
Also, the owner is extremely nice and very clearly passionate about his cuisine. He actually signed both my receipt and my friend's and guaranteed a full refund if we were not satisfied with the food because he was that confident in its quality (as he should be). As he was serving us, he told us about each of the ingredients, like his homemade sauce that's a family recipe. Very impressive service, very impressive food, very impressive guy. Honestly, more people need to know about it. I know I sound so extra writing this review but I'm such a foodie & this place genuinely excites me. Go and see for yourself!

HUGE RECENT UPGRADE. This place has gone from an average shawarma place that used to have expensive Donair with tons of cheap sauces and poor salad to an extremely high quality and authentic place with organic ingredients and is $2-3 cheaper price. The new owners completely overhauled the interior, replacing all the old equipment with new and cleaned up the place + menu. He brings a new spicy green sauce that's his family's recipe and has incredible flavour. Every component on the plate works now, including the rice being flavourful and spiced. I love it here now and come here all the time - it's by far the best shawarma in the West End.

Honestly not sure why the rating is not higher! Tasty food with good sized portions and price. Happened to notice that the person working there (owner?) gave food to a guy that looked like he needed it, so huge plus there. Will definitely come back!

I'm not usually a big fan of Donair kebabs but this place is great. They make all their own sauces and the kebabs are well packed, not falling apart and messy. Their fries are also great, very crispy. Portions are huge, great variety of dishes and a very clean restaurant.

Tried a lot of donair in this town and this is the best.
Not shy with the meat portion and the toppings.
But their secret is the sauces which are top notch and the way that they uniformly mix them with the toppings. If you happen to hit it with the owner slinging, praise the donair gods.

One of the best spots in Vancouver! The owner stuffs the donair wrap and it's super saucy, this is my go to donair place.

Quick, efficient, very tasty, and reasonably priced. What's not to like? Be warned, the "super" is A LOT of food. You'll likely be fine with a regular.

I went here based on the good reviews, I had beef donair, I did not like it, tasted weird. I had diarrhea few hours after.
I might go back for chicken instead next time, will give it a second chance.

This is personally the best donair from me. There is mostly always this one gentleman working who I think is the owner. Local business, support him you would not be regret it. He also has "Donair Poutine"

Had the Chicken Lebanese donair and it was really good! Everything was fresh and well seasoned. Great place to grab food before biking around Stanley Park.

The best donair I have ever had in Vancouver!
And OMG the sweet sauce which I can't find anywhere else is mouth watering!
Got the beef donair special with fries and drink for $12.50 and shovelled it down. The wrap is stuffed to the max with meat and veggies and the fries are delicious especially when doused with sweet sauce.
Everyone should come and try the donairs.
Will definitely be back for more donair!

Love coming here whenever i am near downtown. Best flavors, love the chicken donair. Absolutely huge doniars so unless ur super hungry, stick with the regular size lol. The owner is super nice as well.keep serving up delicious donairs:)

One of the best donairs I've had here in Vancouver. Big! Tastes good. The guy (owner? I'm not sure) may seem reserved but is friendly, and seems to care about the quality of his product. The space is tiny, but there's "hidden" upstairs space with 2-3 more small tables.

I've been coming here for years. Arash is one of the most genuine people I have ever met. He is generous with not only his portions, but with his hospitality, too! If you haven't eaten a donair from this Donair Town, you are missing out.

Try it! Just try it and be amazed by the sheer quantity of their delicious donairs!
I tried it once and always prefer to go here whenever Im there.
They are worth every penny, I especially love their Lebaneese chicken donairs.

The donairs are huge and delicious; an excellent value. I'm especially fond of the sauces. All ingredients are prepared in-house & the owner/staff is super friendly!

I was walking by, on my way to a late ramen lunch, when the aroma of slow-roasted meat stopped me in my tracks - gone was my craving for ramen. Only halal gyros mattered now. I ordered the lamb, Lebanese style, and then I died because it was so delicious. I'm telling you, Donair Town Robson is a MUST. The guy who runs it is very kind and personable, and you can tell he puts a lot of love and care into his food. Please do yourself a favor and eat here - you won't regret it.

Awesome donair and extremely kind staff. We ordered one normal portion of fries and he gave us a huge one since we were 5 people. 5/5 Would visit again.
