ACCUSING ME OF STEALING
Today (Aug 28,2021), I was accused of stealing 2 packages of Lime Juice WITHOUT ANY PROOF.
I bought these 2 packages from another store nearby by cash and had no bill before going shopping at Dong Thanh market.
I found out they also had this product. I took 1 package, checked the price with the cashier and put it back right away (as I couldnt find a price tag at the counter).
When I paid my bill around 60 CAD and left, they called me back and accused me of stealing these 2 packages (about 16 cad)
I asked them to check the cameras or call the police. The cashier without my permission took my 2 packages and put them on their counter. I told them not to do that as it was my asset.
The cashier kept asking me the bill. Well I dont have to prove myself or where I get my stuff. They accused me, they should have given me their proof.
The owner showed up after 1 hour. He asked me to give my contact and my driver license then would let me go. I didnt want to leave. I wanted them to apologize me in person for making up things.
I asked them to call the police as my phone was dead. They kept rejected it. They asked me to leave and return tomorrow (and kept my 2 packages). They asked me to call my family. They asked me to take photos of me. They treated me like a criminal WITHOUT ANY PROOF after 2 HOURS.
Eventually, the cashier after raised her voice, took my 2 packages, said 100% I stole from the store, compared my 2 packages with theirs. The barcode were the same buy my 2 packages had DIFFERENT EXP DATE from theirs.
Now she wanted to leave (as the store was closed) and said sth with the owner, she gave me my 2 packages and said "Im sorry. Ok". The owner gave me some fruits but I didnt take it.
I wont come back to this place ever again.

Rude owners. The place seems to be recently renovated, but its empty of customers. Lots of old veggies and expired items. Beware of their canned and foods, and meat products! I bought meat that was old and brown on the underside where it is hidden! Beware!

Beware of expiring dates and quality of fruit, vegetables and meat. Some bargain and specialty items to be found.

I would rate it 0 stars if i could. Rudest cashier that i have ever met. Condescending, disrespectful, and down right humiliated me in front of other customers. She lacked the patience you are supposed to give a customer. Absolutely disgraceful. DO NOT SHOP HERE!

We bought a box of mangoes from the supermarket yesterday. The mangoes looked decent and firm. But when we opened it today, they are all rotten inside and we cannot eat any of them. Be careful if you want to buy discounted produce from this store.

This is a great spot to grab Vietnamese groceries like noodles, herbs, and vegetables that you can’t find at the white people stores. It’s rough around the edges, but will be better stocked than the ethnic aisle at Price Smart a touch further down Kingsway.

Support local owned grocery stores! They actually have more unique selections than the big box stores like superstore. Great place for Asian goodies

Reasonable price, variety of Asian foods like noodle, fish sauce, instant sauce and spice and so on.their frozen prawn with head is my favourite.more walking space is better

Wouldn’t recommend going here right now. Not very hygienic and the cashier lady was coughing pretty badly. Even though she was wearing it mask, it doesn’t seem safe.

Prices are right if they have the produce that you seek. There is a butcher in the back, they have eggs, fruit, veggies and i went looking for potsticker wraps. Cash only folks and that comes with a bit of grouchiness as the cash. Very little conversation and english.
They do have a good selection of asian noodles - some junk food and fresh-ish veggies. Just buyer BE-Ware.
