Attending Douglas College for PBDCIS was an incredible experience! The exceptional faculty, engaging curriculum, and vibrant campus made my academic journey here truly enriching and memorable.

Douglas College has absolutely gone downhill over the years. From a proper learning institution in 2018 to a joke in 2023.

Rampant cheating by international students goes not only unnoticed by faculty, but is fully allowed. Constant plagiarism during group projects (50% of classmates in business classes don’t even speak English at a 2nd grade level), causing you to essentially do nothing to get A’s on group projects because professors completely ignore poor grammar and clear plagiarism. Grades are being watered down and the quality of education here has become worthless.

Rampant cheating during exams by International students sit at the back of the class and speak across the room in their native language - while the professors pretend that nothing is happening. If you have a 2-hour long exam, you’ll hear constant talking (literally distracting you from focusing) and see your classmates showing each other their answers for 90% of that exam time.

I witnessed (multiple times) where assignments were submitted during the beginning of a class and the professor told students who cheated that they’ll be getting a 0 on their paper/ assignment because they copy/pasted their entire assignment from a classmate in the same class. These students received absolutely no punishment from the faculty, just a verbal warning from the professor for blatant plagiarism.

It seems as if Douglas College stopped caring about the quality of education and reputation of earning a diploma or degree here to earn more and more international student tuition fees.

I stopped pursuing my degree at this school because of these issues. Professors are clearly being told by administrators to absolutely ignore any and all cheating by international students to ensure the money funnel keeps operating.

If you want to attend a school that honours the education being taught and actually cares about teaching the next generation of society, I’d recommend BCIT.

It’s good for visitors to enter and have an indoor place to chill. You can enter the library as well. The toilet is clean. Just not sure why in a male toilet napkin and tampon are available. It’s a small-medium size college.

I had a worst experience today. I am fourth semester student, not a dumb but the guy who is assistant in international office with black and brown curly hairs (don't know his name) insulted me very badly. I went to book an appointment with academic adviser but just five minutes before the sign in.when i asked them he gave all slips to the students that were before me.i was like.no prblm.okayy.but then everyone wrote their names and reason to meet and he pointed me that why are you not specific, why you tick on other option.the reason behind it last time i had other questions along course planning questions and assistant told me to tick at other option.but this guy just argue me at this point why you choose other option not a course planning option, but i am not misleading anyone. "is it very serious issue to argue for or being insulted. He treated me so badly and loudly there was huge line of boys and girls who were staring and laughing at me.and i was feeling very embarrassed at that moment. We are paying large amounts of money to not being insulted but treated nicely. I complaint against him, he should treat us nicely and politely.he spoil my day. We r not here to treat like this.

As a student at Douglas College in New Westminster, I can confidently say that this institution is top-notch. From the moment I walked through the doors on my first day, I was welcomed with open arms by friendly staff and faculty members who were eager to help me succeed.

The campus itself is stunning, with modern facilities and state-of-the-art technology that make learning a breeze. The library is a particular highlight, with an extensive collection of resources and comfortable study spaces that have helped me ace more than one exam.

But it's not just about the buildings - the people here are what make Douglas College truly exceptional. The professors are passionate and knowledgeable, always willing to go above and beyond to help their students. And my fellow students are a diverse and welcoming community, with clubs and organizations for every interest.

One of the things I appreciate most about Douglas College is their commitment to supporting their students. From academic advising to mental health resources, they offer a wide range of services to ensure that every student has the tools they need to succeed. And as someone who's struggled with anxiety in the past, I can't say enough about the support I've received from their counselling services.

Overall, I feel incredibly lucky to be a student at Douglas College. It's a place that's truly dedicated to helping their students succeed, and I'm excited to see where my education here will take me in the future. I would highly recommend this institution to anyone looking to further their education and achieve their goals.

It is Such a bad & worst college in British columbia. Nobody should enroll in this college

Douglas has such an amazing atmosphere to learn in, the small class sizes and instructors make it a great place to gain valuable skills. They have good choices for food as well as some nice places to sit and study or relax between classes. Compared to some of the bigger institutions the social life aspect is lacking but I'm usually more focused on learning than making friends. Parking is a bit difficult. Street parking near by can be a bit sketchy and the parking lots for the campus and Anvil tower are very limited. Price for parking nearby is pricey.

This college is very futuristic. To elaborate, I must provide a historical context.

In the past, mankind answered the call of nature in a position with the knee angle of roughly 30 degrees, which has come to be known as a "squatting" position. With the advent of toilets, in the present, the knee angle has opened and is usually 90 degrees in a position usually referred to as a "sitting" position.

In this regard, this college is truly innovative. Many toilet seats here are so high that men of mountainous stature such as my barely 5'7 self are offered a glimpse into the future where the aforementioned knee angle is further opened, and one must answer the call in a position bearing most resemblance to that of "standing. "

As such, I have seen the future, and, uncoincidentally, am now a paying member of the anarcho-primitivist party of Canada. Let it be known that I will reduce ALL modern civilization to dust and return it to its primitive ways, unless Douglas College stops this silliness, and only if so.

DISCLAIMER: ALL CLAIMS OF INTENT TO CAUSE DESTRUCTION UPON CIVILIZATION ARE SATIRICAL AND NOT TO BE INTERPRETED AS REAL THREATS. PLEASE DO NOT SEND THE MOUNTIES AFTER ME.

I will never forget Douglas College which provided me with the vital education. I am grateful to all my professors who not only taught me the knowledge and skills, but also gave me love and confidence. Meanwhile, I miss all my best friends and classmates because we worked together, hung out together, cried and laughed together when we were students. Once we worked as a team and gave a presentation, we actually were a little bit nervous that led to our team forgot an important part of the presentation. But we pretended to be confident and didn’t care about the score. Also, We loved participating many events that were organized by student unions. On the energetic campus, there is our best memory.

This is a five star college EXCEPT mr. Bambang Sarif!
The worst teacher you may imagine!
if anyone from administration is reading this comment PLEASE consider asking him to leave!

Want to become a broke and woke left-wing libtard and this is the place for you!

Don't expect to get hired when you leave here

Really I agree with the reviewed by students. No recommendations to join this college. CSIS. Prof. Bambang Sharif and many others are not human being. They didn't value the sincerity, it is Definite the students got failed or re-try for the same exam again. Why not management or college understand that why students left or failed in their class. BIG mistake to join this college.worst.
12 September 2022 19:48
Please don't take admission into any Computer Science or CSIS program, especially international students. There is a professor named bambang sarif who won't pass you at any cost. You need to take retake the course and repay all the fees again. Also he insults students and does not clear any doubts when we go in office hour. I don't know why Douglas has kept him. Honestly it's a scam.

Super location! Steps to everything including Skytrain.

Construction work on a Holiday.

How do you even get people enrolled if you are not willing to reply to emails or give any information? The person replying to me was incredibly rude, she did not even address my questions at all, and she clearly did not even read my case. I am actually shocked that you have that kind of client service and admission team.

Apparently, I am not the only one who had a terrible experience by just requesting some information by reading the reviews. Clearly won't waste my money (getting charged 4x more) as an International student in this place.
13 January 2022 19:22
Terrible teaching methods. Julie Crothers is a horrible prof. You will not succeed in her classes.
10 January 2022 22:00
Teacher's are extremely rude and condescending towards students. I have had teachers that will make fun of you're answers and make rude comments towards you if you try you're hardest and think you are doing good think again all the teachers I have had all have favorites if you are not a favorite YOU WILL NOT DO WELL PERIOD. I was in class once and a student goes up to the teacher and says "can I have an extension" the teacher says why the student says "I did not want to do the work" teacher says "okay and I just got my wisdom teeth taken out and told the teacher a week in advance and said I was going to get them removed and could not do the assignment for communication and the teacher says " THAT DOES NOT MATTER YOU WILL GET A ZERO ON IT AND FAIL THE ASSIGNMENT" very rude staff stay away there have been many other stories staff think they are better than you they patrol the halls like no tomorrow I was finding my class and a teacher comes out red in the face and yells "WHAT ARE YOU DOING! " I said " finding my class" the teacher says " UGHHH YOU DONT EVEN KNOW WHERE TO GO HOW DID YOU GET INTO THIS SCHOOL" then mumbles stuff and walks away.

It's a very huge college, ambience is very good.
Facts - 200m away from new Westminster sky train
Library books can be issued only by student ID
cafeteria - ahhh! Always full
07 December 2021 19:21
The IT service here is the worst. The program I am in is very disorganized. Going somewhere else to get better internet and better education since the profs in this program are very disorganized. Not saying which one and which program it’s confidential. Oh I forgot to mention one more thing, the cafe at Douglas doesn’t have that much selection with food. Not impressed. Oh, and they also got rid of the fish bowl and they used to let people print out 300 pages back then now it’s 10 and they charge you too which is absolute bogus. Ever since they renovated the library half of the computers don’t work. Bring back the fish bowl and bring back the old rule when it comes printing out pages PLEASE! It’s not our fault the system was hacked. Douglas college as I remember it was better now it went down hill.

Love this college, this is where I study. Thank you to Luke from the Global exchange program for helping me to explain the details.
01 November 2021 4:59
Good college everything is good. However, the only weakness is the way to the college is uphill and there are lot of stairs in order to get to the classroom. So if you go to college by walking you are going to be pretty tired.
26 October 2021 23:10
Vibrant with life, now that activities have resumed on campus. I really like studying there, most teachers are awesome, campus is huge, bright and collegie, it inspires you to learn.

As an international student of Douglas college, One can realize how welcoming this college is. Be it academic, international advising or just fun activities, this college has it all.
26 August 2021 14:28
Love the small class sizes here, they really allow you to get a more personalized learning experience and really connect with your instructors and get help when you need it. It's also really good if you're transitioning from highschool, too! The campus location is so convenient as well, and the people are so nice!

5 stars for Mrs. C, R and librarians. Last time I checked Mrs. C passed away so that's really sad. Back then (early 2000s) there were no laptops, smartphones etc lol. Profs had to write everything down on the overhead projector and you had to scribble everything down in your notebooks. What a wonderful memory of Prof C

I emailed them twice inquiring about classes and they spelled my first name wrong each time. I emailed back the second time just to see if it was a typo. Nope, and my name is even a part of my email address. Go somewhere they bother to spell your name correctly.

A Great experience! Seek out professor Tanya Haye of communications. I've never met a better teacher who made a bigger difference and real effort. She is wise and kind and will help you to succeed. Even online classes, which can be challenging àre a joy. Definitely recommend, going back for more myself.

Rude behavior of the teachers very rude, no help, it was sooo stressful time during my study due to poor pattern of the syllabus which is set by my teachers, teachers give no review before exam, simply said that you have to learn all book, which is really hard for everyone to remember all book, during this pandemic time it's very tough for us to learn online, and teachers makes it worse more, they just give assignments and give you marks that's it, during my course I submitted my all assignments on proper time not even miss single one, all worksheets and I passed my labs also but my teacher set all the course on the basis of quizzes, in this quizzes you have to complete 30 questions in 4 or 5 minutes, which was very stressful, every time when that quizzes was started I was feel toooo much anxiety and due to that stressful situation I lost my marks, and I fail the course with the difference of just 3 percent.
