Doug's Homestead

I've been here multiple times to try their so called world famous jerky yet everytime they seem to have been sold out. Even a couple hours within opening! If it's such a hit why not make more instead of selling out and having dissapointed customers. Seen a bunch of pepperoni so decided to try it and it was the worst pepperoni I've ever had! It was very coarse and had chunks of bone in it! That will be the last time I go there.

Such a gem of a storefront. Super easy to miss, so don't blink your eyes when you're driving to or from Penticton! The pepperonis and beef jerky are just amazing. Nothing but natural flavour. Go early as the sellout fast!

In Kaleden on the road main leading into Penticton Doug’s Homestead is a must stop. Fantastic homemade beef jerky and a range of beautiful home cured and smoked meats. Doug’s has it all, try the Elk which is only available on fridays for as long as it lasts and don’t miss the pepperoni. Great people doing great things. Tip: get their early the jerky does not last long at all.

Must try! My go to for my charcuterie board spread Delicious and wonderful staple in the community. Definitely stop by when you pass by Kaleden, BC.

Had way more stuff than I thought.pizzas, dressings, spices, pies (savoury and fruit).
My toddler (who is obsessed with spinning things) wanted their ceiling fan on and even tho it was dusty, they made it happen

Very popular place for beef jerky. Apparently they usually sell out before 12. I found it to be pretty average beef jerky to me. I've had better and I've had worse

A very popular place with a great selection of assorted pepperoni, fresh and frozen meats and let’s not forget their famous jerky. The jerky is so popular that customers are now limited to $75.00 per order to allow others to get their hands some.

Get there early. The first in line when we went there arrived 1 hour before opening.

Busy, but great. They have a maximum for beef jerky over the summer so there was actually some available in the late morning. Glad we stopped!

I moved back to BC in August and was so happy to find Doug's and its new location! It was my family's go-to place on our camping trip in the area! They have the BEST beef jerky in the world - well, at least the best that I have ever had:) I lived in Ontario for some years and I kept trying different bucher shops in search of something remotely comparable and I could never find anything even close! I love their cheesy and beer pepperoni, too. People are always super awesome and it is totally a must go place!

I have missed out on Jerky at this place so many times it drives me crazy. You have to be their first thing when they open. Bacon is excellent and my favorite pepperoni is sweet and hot. I stop every chance i get. I won the pepperoni game once at the old location.so much fun.

Friendliest staff, amazing quality and flavor of meats and convenient location. What more could you ask for? Definitely recommend this place for all your meaty needs.

Purchased frozen beef burgers 2 weeks ago! Amazing cook on the BBQ, Brioche bun and YUMMY! I will always have a package in my freezer! The staff are amazingly friendly! And also never leave Doug’s without pepperoni and pot pie’s are pretty good too!

We have been shopping here since he opened in Penticton. We Love the different flavored pepperoni, burgers and many flavors of sausages. We shop here regularly. The staff are very friendly.

Sooo salty and completely inedible. Didn’t even want to give it to my dogs. I tried contacting the business several times with no response to my messages. They don’t care.

Friend brought me there 15 mins to close on Sat Jan 30. Top notch pepperoni. Tried them all. They had this one type, Elk pepperoni that had a little kick to it. Amazing.

Mussels Steamed in Red Wine & Elk Pepperoni
1-1½ lbs mussels (fresh or frozen)
1 chopped onions (or equiv shallots)
1 head garlic chopped
1 foot of Doug's ELK Pepperoni, finely chopped
2-3 oz of red or white wine
½ cup of water or clear soup broth
1 slice of lemon

Sauté onions & garlic till they look cooked, add pepperoni and keep stirring for about 2 more mins. Add wine & water, bring to a boil. Add mussels until the shells open up then continue to cook for about 3 mins (about 10 mins total). Squeeze lemon juice from slice all over. Serve. If you have some green onions or scallion chop one up and add on top for presentation.

OMG Becky what a great meat and deli store! I have come to learn that people come from far and side to buy products from Doug’s. The staff are always friendly and it’s fun playing the guess the weight of your pepperoni stick game for the chance to win it for free.

Honestly this is the best place for cured meats in the south Okanagan. You have to stop by. So happy to have them in Kaleden now.

Pepperoni and beef jerky is to die for. I wish they made more jerky because if you don't get there as soon as they open you'll miss out.

Seems like a decent place but never tried anything that Ive gone for. They’re constantly sold out. First come first serve starting at 9 am. I guess working people dont get the opportunityto try. You cant order ahead or reserve.

Great place to get some meat. Love the pepperoni and the salami. The service was fantastic, friendly and helpful. The sausage were very flavourful and perfect on the BBQ. We made homemade pizza's with the salami and it was so delicious.

OVER the years we have had the pleasure of buying Sundried Tomatoe Sausage in Headley Now that he is in Kaleden it's great His specialty is beef Jerky but all his meat products are # 1 Quality and the staff are always pleasant. Go early if u wish to get his famous beef jerky it sells out real fast

Love the beef jerky.but have only been able to get it one time. Even went 30 min before they opened and already 30+ people in line. I hope and wish they do something about that. It's a shame that so many people never get to try it, due to not enough to go around. I guess you should bring a sleeping bag and get in line the night before. That is why I gave it 3 stars instead of 5.
