I highly recommend Dr. Mentz if you’re looking for a competent and personable Obstetrician. He cared for me during my pregnancy and made me feel well taken care of. When it came time to giving birth a few months ago, his colleague Dr. Lampen was on call to perform my emergency c-section since baby was breech at last minute. It was my first time meeting Dr. Lampen the day of my emergency c-section, and we were impressed with his care.

I am truly thankful to dr ments and the whole team. I got life threatening infection after my c section but got saved because of the best team of obgyn at ridge meadows hospital. I really appreciate the dedication, hardwork and knowledge that blessed me with this new life.

Dr. Mentz was my OB throughout my entire pregnancy and I would highly recommend him and use him again. Dr. Mentz is the guy you want in your corner if anything goes wrong! I was very fortunate that he was on call when I went into labour. He made me feel very comfortable and safe through the entire process. I ended up having to have an emergency c-section and Dr. Mentz delivered my son quickly and safely. Bonus points that his detail to stitches is superb and I healed very quickly.

Dr. Mentz is so Respectful and professional, he answered all my questions and gave me the best treatment, I no longer struggle with what is was a problem with me. I highly recommend him. Thank you Dr Mentz!

First off don’t believe that BS article that came out in maple ridge. Be mad at the hospitals policies not the doctor who was truthful and direct about something that could’ve been potentially life threatening to the patient if the doctor were to gloss over for sake of your feelings. Absolute fantastic doctor and 2 birth experiences. One of the last good, passionate and honest physicians left in BC. Highly recommend. Teresa at the front desk is an incredible person to be in health care. Dr. Mentz and Teresa put my health concerns first and worked together to get me referred to the correct professionals after a c section and I had some concerns. They put me first and made sure I was not left out and did not slip through the cracks. I felt extremely safe with Dr. Mentz in the operating room, when I was waiting to be operated on. He came in at the same time as the other staff but I wasn’t at ease until I saw him, I was feeling worried when I didn’t see him in the room yet because he is the only reason I’ve brought my 2 pregnancies to maple ridge because he has continuously put my concerns first and let me ask a million questions and never lost his patience. I came all the way from south surrey. That’s endless doctors appointments and gas just to pass a dozen other OB/GYNs. He did both. Emergency c section and then planned c section. Saved my daughters life the first time. Always gave knowledgeable and in depth discussions about your options and overall science of how everything works. Truly blessed to have had him twice for such an insane miracle as pregnancy and giving birth. Crucial to have him in healthcare. Protect good honest physicians. Please remember if it’s an “attitude” thing you experience with a doctor once in a while that they are people too and if they operate on people every single day multiple times a day, sometimes things happen and you wouldn’t be bright eyes and bushy tailed after either and they do their best to sit in a room with you and act like everything’s fine. It’s their job to be thorough and focused with each patient, and he truly is. Have some understanding, it’s humans helping humans. Thanks.

Best doctor! I had him for both of my pregnancys! Highly recommend. Great bedside manor and was able to refer me out when he felt there were risks he couldn’t take on at ridge meadows.

Dr. Mentz has been nothing but kind and patient throughout my entire pregnancy. I would recommend his care to anyone, particularly anyone who struggles with anxiety as his bedside manner is kind and thorough without being placating. I'm very grateful to have been referred to him.

Dr. Mentz was an absolute god send. He is a true professional who really cares about his patients. He explains everything very well and never makes you feel rushed when you are in an appointment with him. Sometimes womens health is ignored and not taken seriously so finding someone who is the complete opposite is a breath of fresh air!
