Dr. Rick Wong Optometry Clinic

Two years ago the doctor gave me a wrong prescription. I had to pay for a second exam to get it corrected when my $1000 glasses were useless. They wouldn’t give me a new contact lens prescription even though they increased prescription for my glasses. My new optometrist said the prescription I’ve been using for 2 years is still too strong and reduced it. Much better now. Dr Rick Wong’s office keeps sending me emails saying ‘sorry you missed your appointment’. No unsubscribe link or even their phone number. Didn’t have an appointment with them and don’t want one!

Dr Wong gave me a thorough explanation on why my right hand eye has a worse vision than my left eye after performing the check up.

Dr. Wong is a meticulous professional with an amicable demeanor, and his staff are obviously very happy to work at the clinic and work as a coordinated team. I will return to this Optometrist with confidence in the future, and recommend Dr. Wong and his clinic and staff without reservation.

We came back after visit quite a No.of years ago. We especially asked for Dr Rick Wong, the owner of this company, but he only stations here on Sat, and at City Central Mall at King George Hwy rest of the week. They charged $115 for full eye exam this time. More expensive than before, but fair enough, everything goes up especially after pandemic. Dr Wong did further testings on my husband after finding questions on his regular test results, and even refer him back to his previous eye specialist to do further checking with results to be given by him later. Staff are polite and organize customers nicely. But if they could really line them up according to their check in order, it’s better then. We came here 15 mins earlier before 3 other customers, and we were all scheduled for the same appt time, but me and my husband ended up be the last to be seen, we ended up waiting for 45 mins finally. My husband was not happy. But considering the rest of the service of this clinic, we are still happy about that. The line up thing I see it as the issue of the staff.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Rick Wong at LC since 2008 and have never been disappointed. The service at LC is amazing they really put the patients first and want to make you feel comfortable and will always recommend what’s best for you. I have always been super picky with picking out my frames and I always get the best help and always leave happy.

Staff were pleasant and helpful. Dr. Wong explained our results and didn’t beat around the bush. I felt confident I had a good exam!

Since moving to Canada 20 years ago, I’ve only ever gone to Dr. Rick Wong’s Optometry Clinic for my eye exams. His team is the absolute best. They’re so friendly and accommodating. The doctors who have done my eye exams really listened to my concerns and talked me through the whole process and provided advice to keep my eyes healthy. Most recently, I had Dr. Runping Tao attend to me and he was so lovely and made my visit a very pleasant experience. 10/10 would recommend family and friends to go to Dr. Rick Wong’s clinic.

He is super polite and a highly knowledgeable person. He made sure I was comfortable and walked me through the procedure. He explained me the rationale behind every kind of test he was conducting which was amazing to listen to.

Had an appointment, was on time, and had to waited 30 minutes after my time was up and gone to finally see the Dr. So why do we book appointment anyway?

This appointment was for my Dr.the staff were pleasant however the wait time was quite long. Our appointment was for 12: 40 and my daughter was not seen for 45 minutes. This was frustrating as a parent with multiple children with different needs

Took a exam for my contact lens and got a spectacle lenses prescription.then front desk said need a fitting with $ 100 extra charge.this prescription useless for contact lens.waste time and cost.so disappointment.

I found Dr. Wong and his staff very pleasant, welcoming and professional. Every test was explained thoroughly as were the results. The office was set up for everyone’s protection and each machine was cleaned prior to use. It was a great experience overall and I will recommend Dr. Wong and his staff to anyone needing eye care.

9 years ago I came to Dr. Wong after telling my GP I was experiencing blackout like episodes. She said see your eye doctor. I saw Dr. Wong. He immediately reassured me and sent me on my way. About two hours later he called me while I was at work and said calmly that I needed to leave and go see a specialist and from there my journey started. After months of tests and hospital visits I was diagnosed with an eye disease called retinitis pigmentosa. Years later the blackout episodes were diagnosed with epilepsy. This would not have been possible if it weren’t for Dr. Wong and him advocating for me that day. I am grateful for him and we should all be so lucky to get a doctor who cares so much about his patients that he doesn’t dismiss them but actively assists them in getting the help they desperately need.

Dr. Orendain is amazing! Most doctors I have seen in the past are either in a hurry to finish the exam or just want to upsell you glasses, but Dr. Orendain was kind, knowledgeable and answers all of your questions. Also, if you have kids I highly recommend that you book with him as he is patient and is quite personable with young kids. Highly recommend
