Looking for 2” round downspout connector. Finally found them at the Duncan home hardware. Other places said they had and couldn’t find or just did not have them.
The guys a Home Hardware new exactly what we were looking for and had lots of stock.

Great improvements here in last 5 years with plenty of knowledgeable friendly helpful staff.

They are very helpful at this store. Every time I go there, I can get the help I need. This time I needed to fix a leaky outdoor tap. They always have what I need.

I am newer to the area and Home Hardware was my go to place back in ON. The Duncan store staff have been very helpful & knowledgeable and go above and beyond each time I have been in there.

Convenient locations and quality products. One word of advice though, make sure you leave with what you need, and it actually applies to your project. Chances are it isn't the correct application.and "special orders" are non-returnable.even if the error is theirs.

Prior to visiting the Duncan version of home hardware I had no idea sauce this weak was even possible but since experiencing the Duncan home hardware I can now confirm their sauce is the weakest sauce in the cowichan valley. Possibly the country and maybe the world but I can't say for sure as I've not tried all of the sauce to say with certainty. Either way weak sauce Duncan home hardware very weak sauce.

Just walk around in the shop. Interesting brand that I think I havent seen in the other hardware shop. Never been shop here but would like to one day. If you bring backpack, leave your backpack in the cashier, you are not allow to bring your backpack inside the store.

I like the location and selection of most products available at this business. I like that I can generally find most of what I'm looking for quickly and easily. What I don't like so much is I sometimes feel somewhat smothered by the staff as I'm a professional with decades of experience I rarely need someone to "hold my hand" as I locate the various items I've come to purchase. In most cases I've already determined that they have what I'm looking for and what the price is before I show up as I for lack of a better term "let my fingers do the walking" thanks YellowPages for forever polluting my mind with that add from the 80's, lol. Thus I feel a little bit insulted when I have someone almost insist on taking me to each department and "helping me" find my purchases, if I need help I'll ask for it, and sometimes I do, I'm happy to say in general the service is usually quite good, the owner is both knowledgeable and not afraid to address issues as he should. I respect that, I have a harder time when an employee who is barely an adult is convinced that I need them to direct me to the correct selection or worse when my girlfriend goes on my behalf and she has to call me because the air filter I asked her to pick up for me seems like it's more than I suggested it should be so I tell her to skip that item on the list only to find it myself for $7.50 for a pack of three and she was offered a single filter for nearly $35.00 without being informed of other options and price points. As this was for a Landlord who is having trouble getting his tennants to pay rent on time he isn't interested in the top shelf HEPA Filter option he only wants the minimal cost measure to prevent damage to his HVAC system. She isn't nearly as assertive as I am but that doesn't equate to an opportunity to gouge the customer either, that being said it was a fairly new and very young employee she dealt with that day. Unfortunately it meant I had to attend the following day as well.

I often forget about Home Hardware when I'm searching for anything, but they really do have a great selection on everything and the staff are super friendly.

Phil, I am disgusted with your staff, I was actually accused of stealing by the short fat old man who works there. May 23 2022 aprox 4: 30pm. Unbelievable experience. Again, forced to give a star, but would rather see that store closed forever.

I love this store! The staff never make me feel like I'm a bother. They are always good natured and very helpful.

Came in for water/ice hookup supplies for new refrigerator. Staff were very helpful, and knew exactly what I needed. Everything was in stock. I had gone to Home Depot before that, and staff were not knowledgeable. Great service at Home Hardware.

Some things here are great, others are not, so far the only product I won't buy there is cement, a 40kg bag of Portland cement was nearly twice the price of another outfit. Otherwise quite compatible and sometimes more friendly/helpful.

The customer service level in that store is off the chart. So nice! Everybody said hello. The product we were looking for wasnt there so this nice man ordered it for us. Everybody really wonderful.

Guy walked right by me as I was loading drywall. No offer to help.three stars for not shuffling the inventory. I always know where to find the stock.

Too friendly lol if thats possible staff chats you up points out good deals got a bow saw for $3.50 heck i dont even need a bow saw lol but i got one

I love this store, they have all the essentials and more but most important the staff are there to help. They are knowledgeable and friendly. What more can you ask for?

Always love going to this place whenever I move to a town I always find out where the home hardware is because they all seem to be laid out the same way so if you're used to 1 you'll be used to leave a new one there pretty much almost identical a few slight changes here and there but most of the time they're pretty much laid out the same way and if you can't find something there's always somebody around that you can ask there's always somebody that's working that's close by and if it's too busy well you might have to wait a minute or two at the most until somebody's free and they've had probably 95% of the stuff I've ever wanted at a pretty good price if not just ask for a contractor's discount you may or may not get it it just means you have to pay right away when you get about 10 to 15% off if you do get it

I was in the store with my wife looking at soaker hoses and timers. Some guy whose name tag said ”Gardener” swooped in and helped us out.

Top Notch customer service. People like The Gardner are the reason I shop local and the reason I will return to Home Hardware!

He even recommended a cheaper product to us than the one we had picked out because it was of higher quality (hopefully this doesn't get you to in trouble G)

This is a great store with equally great staff. I live less than three minutes from the ladysmith home hardware and refuse to shop there. I come here instead. Dan recently managed to get me some special order drywall in two days and had it delivered for a reasonable price. These folks are totally deserving of your business. The ladysmith store in my opinion is not. Ladysmith should take a few lessons from these guys.

Staff is good and helpful. Carol spent a lot of time with me dealing with every detail of my order. I will shop here again.

A fellow in customer service supported mending my shopping cart free of charge. Their support is awesome considering I didn't buy the cart there

I have found if you go near closing they are pretty strict and want people out at closing time. (Far enough I suppose)

I once went to the lumber yard 15 minutes before closing and had to be a little strong in requesting that I could buy something because they had closed the till on that side.

Some staff have no idea what they are doing or selling. The store it's self isn't organized well.thanks to staff that has no idea what they are doing.

First of all I know we have an issue with shop lifting in Duncan.

Way to go Home Hardware, way to may a customer feel like a criminal.

I am reorganizing my kitchen and I am looking for sometbing specific - one of those things that you cant describe but will know it when I see it.

So I go to Home Hardware in search. I'm browsing the isles and an employee asks if I need help. I say no thanks I'm just looking and I continue. I walk down an isle and the employee is watching me - I get it shop lifting in town is bad I understand. So I come out of an isle and I over hear the employee that was following me tell another employee that I was suspicious looking. I browse for like another 10mins. NOW I'm being followed by both employees - NOT ONE BUT TWO EMPLOYEES. I did NOT give them any reason to think I was going to shop lift so I walk out. Go sit in my car and call the store manager to make a complaint. The store manager makes excuses for the employees how they are trained to watch for suspicious customers and they have people stealing from them everyday. I saw 4-8 other customers in the store at the same time as me, I did not notice them getting the criminal treatment. I get it I've worked in retail for a long time bit to have TWO EMPLOYEES following me for no reason is ridiculous.

Feels very comfortable shopping there. Good customer service friendly. Not as big as home depot but they have most items that you might find at home depot.
