The staff on our tour was amazing. They were so knowledgeable and informative, happy to answer any questions. This company respects the wildlife participates in education and conservation efforts. They provide binoculars, hats, coats, gloves, etc.if you need them. We spent an hour watching a beautiful family of orcas and also saw some seals and sea lions. Well worth it.
I would highly recommend this amazing team of dedicated whale watching experts. They are environmentally conscious and respectful of both the native animals and land in which they sail. Great experience!
Amazing experience, highly recommend! The crew was great, they helped our daughter with her nausea, we saw orcas and a humpback whale. The boat is very comfy and warm inside.
We are still in awe of our amazing trip with Eagle Wing Tours. This was a long awaited bucket list item for us and the highlight of our trip to beautiful Victoria from Australia. The joy expressed by the crew at seeing the orcas was infectious and their knowledge was invaluable. I highly recommend this family run business.
We've booked with Eagle Wing Tours twice now and would highly recommend! The staff were so friendly and extremely knowledgeable. You can tell they prioritize what's best for the wildlife. Both tours were similar yet completely different at the same time, we will definitely book again when in Victoria!
We absolutely enjoyed our trip! it was my 3rd whale watching tour, and the best one (so far!). Thanks to the wonderful crew, and also lucky weather and sightings:)
Wonderful experience. Extremely knowledgeable staff. Seen a handful of humpback whales, sea lions, sea otters, porpoises, and birds. The boat was beautiful, providing space to warm up inside and outside for better 360 whale watching.
Did the wild 4 Whales cruise on November 13 on the catamaran. The boat is super comfortable to ride in and there is a covered space so that you can stay warm. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and do everything to make your experience special. We were out for a little over 3 hours and saw 16, yes 16 humpback whales as well as a variety of sea lions and birds. My wife and I have been on at least 10 whale watching excursions in Mexico, Hawaii and even the Caribbean but this one was one of the very best. I would highly recommend this company. We’ll be back!
I went on a whale watching tour with Eagle Wing Tours. I generally have loved whales since I was little and was excited to go! I gotta say I have never seen such a passionate group of tour guides and crew. They really do care about wildlife and it shows through and through. I was very impressed about the knowledge they had about the whales and the wild life and it was so worth the money! We saw so many humpback whales and it was so breath-taking. They were feeding without a care in the world and this tour made me appreciate the role these whales play in keeping our world healthy. Thank you so much Eagle Wing! I would love to go on another watch when I'm in Victoria next. I really recommend watching whales through this company!
Got to see orcas, seals, and the rare minke whales. I usually get sea sick, but the waters were calm and my wife, 3 young daughters, and I didn’t get sick at all! Such an amazing experience and the crew members provided us with interesting information throughout the adventure. Highly recommend if you’ve never gone whale watching before!
We had a fantastic tour with Eagle Wing! The staff were both friendly and incredibly knowledgeable about the wildlife. We were able to see a lot of humpbacks, one orca, a bald eagle, two seals, and a lot of sea lions on our tour.
I would absolutely recommend Eagle Wing to anyone looking for a whale watching tour out of Victoria!
Hands down one of the best experiences of my life! For the first time ever after being on the island for over 11 years, I saw an orca! And that wasn’t even the highlight! There were over 80 humpback whales in the area we went, and 2 curious beauties came so close to the boat you could see VERY clearly for yourself their sheer size and majestic grace. To top it all of, the sunset was spectacular, casting the world in hues of violet, fuchsia, and orange.
In addition to having two humpback whales essentially be close enough to shake hands (or flippers), the incredulous amount of information, cultural teachings, and anecdotes coming from our naturalist Derek made the trip a MUST! Learning about the haunting musical songs of the humpbacks, their matrilineal nature, and so much more, you would be remise to not add Eagle Wing Tours to your ‘MUST DO’ in Victoria!
We had an amazing whale watching experience. We had two fantastic guides and were lucky to have great weather, and see Killer whales, Humpback whales, hundreds of porpoises, and many types of Sea Lions and Seals. Would highly recommend
It was one of the best experiences! The staff are amazing kind and informative. Tom, Derek, Joe and Mel were awesome. Strongly recommend them for wild life watching.
We went on a Thursday whale watching with yourselves from Victoria. What an experience! All staff were helpful, professional, and knowledgable.the briefing beforehand excellent! 2.5 hours out to sea we hit the mother load. 60-100 humpbacks! They were very curious and came quite close to our boat. No other boats around? Seals and Killer whales on the way back. Definite highlight for our two week trip to BC. Weather good as well. Highly recommend this company. Spend the money you will not regret it.
Absolutely loved our afternoon tour. Amazing crew, very knowledgeable and informative. Vessel was very clean and comfortable, booking process was very easy. Highly recommend. Can't wait to go back
Our tour with Eagle Wing was pure magic. I was so excited at the possibility of seeing killer whales, and boy did we get to see them! Even if you're not a whale fan, being immersed in British Colombia from the water in this way was indescribable. Pete and Tom were absolutely fantastic, not to mention SO knowledgeable. We were able to observe two groups of killer whales with some amazing encounters. They really care about conservation, which is just a massive win on top of an already amazing experience.
Amazing experience. The people are friendly. They worked hard to find solutions for our concerns. Everything was clear in their instructions.highly recommended.
Cannot recommend this company enough! Supporting the environment and teaching the newer generation about oceans and wildlife through their programs. Had an amazing time with this company on an evening tour. It gets cold and wet out there, make sure you dress up!
The best adventure of our holiday. The crew was amazing, special thanks to Izzy who told us sooooo much about the whales. No doubt that this is the best whale tours company that you can find.
The crews are so kind and friendly. They prepared to educate and share the info. My kids were so seasick, but they could endure the motion sickness due to the efforts of the crews. They cared the people including my kids who suffered the sickness and gave ginger flavored candies, pop and snacks. I appreciated for their kindness.
Me and my friend went on a tour with Trev and Lili, and we could not have been happier. Both staff members were super kind, friendly, knowledgable and funny. They had an abundance of facts which they shared, and made the whole experience so special. We had the privilege of seeing a humpback whale right up close to the boat for about 20 minutes, which was absolutely incredible. Thank you Trev and Lili for making it such an amazing trip! So worth it.
Took a trip on Aug 24/22. Had a great time. Came ridiculously close to a Humpback whale. My kids absolutely loved the experience. Super friendly staff. There is a reason this company has a 4.9 out of 5.
My wife and I had a wonderful experience with the captain Rodrigo and Rebecca our guide was so very fascinating, and full of amazing information on the wildlife including the history of our beautiful ocean. We seen 3 humpback whales 2 transient orcas hunting as well as seals, sea lions and of course eagles. Very professional and fun also with the suits they provided I was warm and cozy.
I can't say enough great things about Eagle Wing Tours. Their staff is super knowledgeable and know how to show a group of people a good time! They make sure you get your money's worth for sure. We saw Orca's, Humpback Whales, Sea Lions and Seals. The Catamaran they took us out on was so comfortable which is important for 4 hours on the water. They also do great things for the environment! Your $5 conservation fee allows them to donate $ and in 2019, Eagle Wing donated $224,000 to Conservation efforts!
Waouhhh! That's my first reaction to this marvelous experience! From the receptionist on the dwarf to the boat crew, it was amazing. You can tell that they all love doing what they are doing, they have experience Kerek's explanation were comprehendible to all the different age groups and made us all want to educate ourselves more about whales but also the life happening in the seas. Lily was great in describing the orcas family structure and the whales code naming. We saw about 6 whales and a 3 generation orca family (from a respectful distance). Thanks to the captain too, it was wonderful. I will certainly take another tour on my next visit to Victoria.
Reserved this tour based on the reviews and we were extremely satisfied! Had an incredible time on the water, got to see many whales, seals, and got stunning views of Mount Olympus and Mount Baker. Our captain and the crew were extremely knowledgeable and passionate about their work.
Eagle Wing helped out super quickly with any questions we had over the live chat function. The tour itself was super interesting, we saw a lot of killer whales and other wildlife. The guides gave a lot of useful information. Definitely recommend this company!
Grant, Russ & the team at Eagle Wing are top notch! This was hands down our best experience whale watching! We saw the transient orcas & humpbacks & tons of other wildlife! The crew on board was full of knowledge, and we learned so much during our time aboard! Would highly recommend this company to everyone:)
I have to say, no company can truly guarantee that you’ll sight whales but the level of professionalism, experience and preparedness experienced at Eagle Wing Tours was beyond my expectations. They know so much about whales and give you the best experience not just from a whale sighting perspective but also to educate us about them.
We had the sunset tour last weekend and everything from the quality of the boat, to the tour provided, to the professionalism of their crew on board, everything was top notch. Really loved learning about the whales from Melissa, the really comprehensive putting our minds at ease measures taken and orientation provided by Derek, the overview of how the tour will work and safety measures provided by Karac, and the boat operator who happened to be the co-owner and the social media specialist - all of them were fantastic!
I recommend touring with this company because it’s not just the whale watching, it’s the whole experience you get, and treated so wonderfully well. The boat is huge so you have all the opportunity to get up close and personal with the ocean life.
We had a great time on this tour. Our guides we're passionate and very knowledgeable about the whales in the area. We saw a family of killer whales for several minutes and had a brief glimpse of a humpback whale. We highly recommend this tour.
Just go here. Don’t even think about it. These guys are TOP NOTCH. We had the pleasure of going out with Karac on a beautiful day and it was one of the best experiences we have had. Not only did we see whales, but Karac gave us a whole new appreciation for these creatures with his in-depth knowledge and amazing perspective. We will be back. Thanks again Karac!
We had an incredible outing on the open boat-saw several humpback whales (maybe 10?) as well as a pod of killer whales and some sea lions. The crew was great and the staff on land was very helpful. Fisherman's Wharf is such a cute area and I don't think we would have ventured over there had we not booked this excursion. It was a trip highlight for sure!
It was a fabulous experience for my son and I. We saw hundreds of sea lions and two sightings of humpback whales. The day out on the water was enhanced by our amazing captain and the marine biologist who accompanied him. They were professional, informative and genuinely dedicated in finding whales for us to see. The air was crisp and the water calm. I would absolutely recommend Eagle Wing Whale & Wildlife Tours to make some very special memories.
My wife and I took a tour here a few years back and it was wonderful. We saw 2 pods that day one of which were harassing a humpback whale and than they took us out to see a lone male who had recently lost his mother and explained to us how important that first year would be for his survival. In fact the staff on the boat were all professionals in the field so the information was thorough and engaging. I would recommend taking a tour with this group and I will be looking for them again when we are next in the area.
We had a great time on this tour. We found whales basically 5 minutes into the boat tour. Our tour guides were very knowledgeable. They supplied windbreaker jackets if you were cold when outside. I really enjoyed this. The trip to the protected islands with all of the wildlife and lighthouse was just great. I will go on this again.
Excellent experience! We had a wonderful tour with a nice crew giving us good information about the whales and the wildlife out there. We have seen humpback and killer whales as well as seals, awesome!
Amazing staff and whale watching experience. Staff Pete and Kaitlyn are very knowledgable and full of information. We had a great time and we will be sure to let others know about our experience:)
Went whale watching with them.first time.very good experience.we saw two kinds of whales.hump back was the best, it passed right below us.everyone was so excited.
Probably the best whale watching company (I didn’t test the others, but) : you can feel they are passionate about their jobs and really care for the environment and marine life. We had a wonderful time in their company and had the chance to see whales ans sea lions. Highly recommended!
Such a great experience from the booking experience to the farewell hot chocolate at the end of the tour. Kerik and Pete were fun knowledgeable guides with a great sense of humour. They took us straight to a family of orcas feeding along the beautiful sunset. We were the only boat around for the majority of the trip. Doesn’t get much better than that! Also didn’t know until the end that they are a family run business that is carbon neutral. Will recommend to all my guests that come to visit the Victoria area.
Went whale watching with this company for the second time. Spacious and comfortable catamaran. The crew did an excellent safety review and provided great information on the wildlife encountered. We had an amazing encounter with humpback whales that came right up to the boat and kept moving from one side of the boat to the other. Even the crew was awestruck. I would highly recommend this company if you are planning on whale watching from Victoria.
Had a blast whale watching yesterday, saw a couple of ocras, 3 humpback whales and a lot of seals. We were out longer than expected and very well taken care of.
Great guides and tours. The catamaran is a nice different way to whale watch too. We've been 2x and both times saw whales. 1x was humpback, 1x was orca.and a bunch of other sea animals and really cool places.
Afternoon tour on boxing day (Dec26,2018) was absolutely fantastic. Although the weather wasn’t the best the crew made it a trip to remember. The pleasurable agent doing bookings, knowledge of the guides, and the excellent navigation by the captain gave us the chance to view orca and humpback whales, bald eagle, sea lions, and sea otters. Highly recommend this tour to anyone who hasn’t done it.
Me and my girlfriend went on a tour with Eagle Wing twice. The first tour was fun! We saw about 8 different humpback whales in 2 different locations, a crazy amount of harbour porpoises, and many different sea lions! I was disappointed on the monday trip as it was a dream of mine ever since I was a child to see Orcas in the wild, but we went in the morning so the location of the orcas is unknown. This was obviously not Eagle Wings fault as we are coming late in the season as the residents are leaving.
We decided to come back before leaving because I really wanted to see an orca. We went in the afternoon this time so that there was a higher chance of knowing their location. Within 30 minutes of the tour, we found T123 Sydney, T123A Stanley, T123C Lucky, and the newest member T123D. The boat followed all of the regulations by staying far away. For people who cannot afford it, the tour provides binoculars so that you can see them. However, the orcas decided to come up to our boat. At one point, the mother and her 2 youngest babies came up beside the boat. T123A also came up to the boat earlier presumably to make sure we weren't going to cause harm. There are no words to describe how amazing this section of the tour was, and I am thankful I chose to come to eagle wing again.
Throughout the rest of that tour, we saw about 4 different humpbacks. Many coming up to the boat and travelling to either side so everyone could see. We saw many different sea lions as well on this trip.
Both trips we took were amazing. The staff is amazing.the Wild 4 Ever boat is comfortable and large enough for everyone, and the experience was unforgettable.
They picked us up from our hotel this morning in Victoria and they were so welcoming. Staff on the boat are so very friendly and they have so much knowledge about the wildlife here on the west coast. Boat was very spacious and comfortable. We were blessed to see dozens of Humpback whales, lots of elephant seals and California seals. It was an amazing day. Eaglewings has so much respect for the wildlife and they provide a lot of information how we can help to keep the whales in our waters. Keep up your great work.
We had a great time on our whale tour with Captain Ron, and Derek and Melissa. They were really informative, and fun to listen to. You can really tell they love their jobs and the wildlife they teach people about. My husband and I took the "Wild 4 Whales" boat. Even if it feels warm on land, bring warm clothes because the winds are strong and it gets cold on the water. They did have coats, beanies, and sunglasses you could borrow on the boat if you needed. They had a taxi that picked you up from your hotel free of charge (be sure to tip though!) which was really nice. We saw a large pod of "resident orcas" which was a rare sighting. We would definitely recommend this tour company, and would go again if we were back in the area!
What an amazing tour and people that run Eagle Wings. Can't say enough. They are the most informative people on the tour, helping you learn so much about the whales, area and history along with all the other animals in the area. They go out of their way to make sure you have a great time. Was running behind (our fault) and they met us in the parking lot to park our car so we could just go directly on board as to not miss the tour and also not hold the other passengers as well Recommend Eagle Wings very highly to anyone that wants a great and fun whale watching tour.
Sadly a lot of money for a long bumpy trip in a fast boat.yes we saw orcas but from so far away. Nothing at all like the video on your website.staff very nice and efficient but sadly did not live up to our high expectations. Especially after reading all the other reviews. Yes we understand wildlife cannot be ordered up to view but nonetheless a very disappointing trip today.
My wife and I were expecting to see whales. We were not expecting to see all of J Pod, though! We were extremely lucky to have such a fruitful outing with Eagle Wing tours, but I am under the impression that this group makes their luck through research and preparation. Everyone on board was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and the naturalists were entertaining and informative. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in seeing some of the local marine wildlife while visiting Victoria.
Called in and was able to book the next excursion 40 minutes later. Boat loaded promptly and the staff was friendly, if not humorous. Our trip was at the maximum, 4.5 hour limit as the whales that day were so far away. We saw 4 orcas quite clearly for 30-40 minutes, who apparently made a kill. We also saw a pair of bald eagles. Because this took the entire time, we were unable to see any seals, sea lions, etc.
Beautiful trip with calm waves, although was unseasonably chilly - definitely bring a hat and scarf if it's in the Teens C/60s F. (The catamarans have jackets, hats, and gloves to lend out, however! Very appreciated.)
This was somewhat more expensive than their competitors, but lasts an hour longer and had both the most and best reviews - probably because they're willing to go far to find whales.
The docking area has a floating food court.
Thank you Captain Kace and Seamen Holly and Brenden.
This was an amazing experience and I highly recommend that you should take the time to do this whale watching tour, You won’t be disappointed. The staff from check in to the actually tour staff were absolutely amazing. Well worth the time and we got to see some amazing whales. Very knowledgeable guides who took the time to make sure we were well educated on the whales and other sea animals we saw on our tour. Can’t wait to do this again in the fall!
What a fantastic day. The staff and crew of Wild 4 Whales were great. We experienced every possible type of marine life out on the Salish Sea. JPOD of Orca Whales, a baby Humpback, California and Stellar Sea Lions, a white Otter, and a Oyster Catcher. I highly recommend this tour to everyone. Thank you for a great day.
Consider that whales are fast moving animals and so the best way to get to them is on the fastest boat and boy was this boat fast. Like many other boat trips they offer another free trip if you miss the whales but they knew where to find them. Having been in the past to see the killer whales at Sea World this by far was an amazing experience in seeing killer whales in their habitat.
Eagle Wing Tours- you IMPRESSED us! We were so pleased with the tour. We were fortunate to see 2 pods of Orcas swimming and spent a couple of hours watching them. Then we went to watch a humpback, then over to see the sea lions and an old lighthouse.the second oldest in Canada! Scott, our Captain and Sydney, were unbelievable! Fun, knowledgeable.but their love and respect of the ocean was so inspiring. Highly recommend these guys. What a great, memorable day we had! Thanks Eagle Wing! An experience of a lifetime!
