Such a fun place to go get your hair done. Sky is who I get my hair done by and she is the best. She listens and always comes up with great solutions.

My best experience at a hair salon ever. I was lucky enough to have a cut with Kristi, the Boss Lady. I have curly hair and have been hesitant to cut my hair for years. Kristi just gave me the best cut I’ve had in 10 years. I love the vibe and the energy of this salon as well as the fantastic new cut. I can’t wait to come back!

I was really nervous about my appointment but Amanda was wonderful. I have never had a hair cut that I was able to make look quite as good the next day but Amanda provided me with a hair cut that not only fit me but was intentionally cut to fit my lifestyle and hair styling ability and it still looks great. I really appreciated how Amanda encouraged me to work with my hair type rather than attempting to fight it, the product amanda recommended really came through as well. I don't think I can get a hair cut anywhere else it was such a positive and empowering experience. Thank you Amanda:)

I had an amazing experience with Bailey this morning. My hair has been dreadful since post partum. I’ve attempted help with different hairstylists, and no one was really able to help me create a change that felt good. Bailey was honest, had vision, made me feel seen and safe and ready to do what needed to be done. She is AWESOME. The space is dope. I’m actually looking forward to going back one day.

I hate leaving these types of reviews, but I need to be completely honest.
The stylists here are great. Great vibe. Love getting my hair cut here.
However, $35 (before tip) or a 5-minute bang trim seems really unreasonable and steep. I went in for about 5 minutes and had maybe 3 cm of hair removed from my bangs, and it cost me nearly half of what I paid for the whole haircut a month before. I understand needing to charge for these things, but the cost completely caught me off guard. Never in my life have I paid that for a bang trim. I got into the salon at 7: 26 and was gone by 7: 30. So under 5 min. I wasn't let in on the cost when the appointment was booked, and it was definitely a shock.
Also, this review isn't reflective of the stylists and staff. I would give them all 5 stars. They're all wonderful, and I understand that they're just doing what is expected of them from the person in charge. But the person in charge needs to revaluate.

Heard about this place from my sister and I love the energy and vibe it gives. Everyone there is such a great joy to be around and are super friendly. They do amazing haircuts and offer great products for your hair.

Chloe did super job. I had a complicated hair history but she did pull it off to get it fixed. I can't thank enough

Okay so I had not prior to this day gotten a haircut in 12 years. I was terrified honestly. I managed to get an appointment same day because they have a new stylist who started TODAY and I have been trying to work up the courage to schedule one so the fact that they could get me in so short notice was incredible. Anyway the stylist Chloe, on her first day at this salon like actually changed my life. I had been told my whole life I couldn't have bangs due to my cowlick and Chloe said "no way you totally can, I'll just show you how to retrain your hair to not part" and she did. My ego is so large after my appointment today, my power level is TOO HIGH. Thanks so much Chloe and team at East Vanity Parlor for giving me this experience!

Been going here for almost 20 years.love the shop, the employees, product selection but the vibe is the reason i started going and one of the main reasons i keep going back.the owner Kristi puts her heart & soul into this place - it's a true east vancouver small business, the exact kind of place that makes #eastvan so rad.

The service here is endlessly friendly, starting the minute you walk in the door. I have been getting my hair done by Jill for roughly 7 years now, and followed her here from another salon. The atmosphere at East Vanity is above and beyond! Though I would take my hair wherever Jill goes, I hope she never leaves this space because it's out of this world great.

The salon is beautiful and welcoming. Jill is amazing. I have a really heard time with having my head touched, which is a tall order for a hairdresser I know, and Jill is so kind and understanding and patient and accommodating and she makes me feel safe and welcome, and she does a beautiful job! She cuts my partner’s hair and she always makes him look like a super model. We love you Jill!

Though I enjoyed the atmosphere and the friendly staff, a simple highlighting procedure turned into a mortifying experience leaving me out $360 and with hair that looks like absolute garbage. I feel like I’ve been scammed.
100% do not recommend for colour treatment of any kind.

1. There was no initial consultation. When I arrived at the salon, I sat in the chair and informed the stylist what I wanted, but more specifically what I did NOT want.
2. My review did not imply any “sticker shock” concerning the price, nor was it necessary for you to insinuate that I have a budget to try and keep within. The price was mentioned simply to allow the consumer to understand the ludicrous price point of your salon. (Keep in mind, I’m a guy with hair that’s maybe 5” long and only asked for highlights).
3. I will never return under any circumstances.

This place is definitely a haven for all people looking for a great haircut experience but specifically LGBTQ+ folks! I have never felt so calm and at home and they have gender neutral pricing which is HUGE and the staff are all so friendly and it has a really cute vibe and aesthetic inside, just do yourself a favour and go check them out!

Horrible place gave me a horrible haircut for 75$.

Asked for a refund and they said I can come back
in and they will 'fix it'.
They cut too much hair and stay away if you

I've always had a good experience here. Lately I've been seeing Bailey and she's been so lovely. She has a great memory for what we talk about, both for my hair as well as just every day talk. She was also great for the day I came in with a migraine and just needed a quick and quiet trim.

I wish I didn't have to book so far in advance, but I'm in the habit of it now. And besides, she's clearly worth it!
