My recent visit to GameStop was incredibly underwhelming. I had high hopes for my experience, but the staff appeared more interested in playing games than helping customers, resulting in long wait times. 5 stars isnt enough. I was so upset when an online order for my item short shipped without notice (different chain). The employees went out of their way to help me get what I was looking for (which wasn't available anywhere else nearby) and in time for Christmas. They were all so cheerful and kind as well. Incredible experience.

Don’t know when the store changed from EB games to GameStop, but it looks like management is pushing for even more aggressive sales tactics. I definitely do not appreciate the beratement I got when I turned down getting disc warranty. If I don’t want it, then I don’t want it, there is no need for a condescending lecture about my choices especially when I just want to buy my game and go. I was not treated like this in the past times I shopped here, but the experience is making me consider just ordering online.

I went in to the store to do a simple exchange this morning (10: 30am) and I was specifically asked to come into the store at this time the evening before when I phoned about the return I was planning to bring in. When I arrived at the store there were 2 employees, one of them being a manager. Apparently only managers can process a return or the other employee just didn't know how to.

The manager was aware of my presence and I stood there and waited about 10minutes while he was casually talking with another customer about nothing related to a purchase or the business. As soon as he finished with that customer he picked up the phone and started talking casually with someone else on the line. Another 15minutes pass and the other employee can see that this is becoming ridiculous and it's approaching the 30minute mark now for me just wanted to make a simple return. She apologized and said how she wished she could help me, all the while the manager is continue his personal conversation over the phone. I've waited for over 30 minutes and finally the manager has finished up his personal conversations with two other "customers" (neither who bought anything actually) and finally came over to process my 90 second return.

I've been coming to this store since I was a young boy, and things have taken a steep decline in customer service. This incident is the last straw, and this location has lost a loyal customer of over 25 years. There are other businesses and locations that have much higher standards for their customers, and I'll be taking my interests there. They need to shape up or this store will be up for a new lease soon. After reading other recent reviews, I can see that I'm not alone in terrible experiences at this store in the last 3 months. Good luck to you guys, you're going to need it.

Bought a brand new game at full price. A few days later when I switched games, I finally realised the case had a huge scratch across the back, and a scrape obscuring some of the case art. As someone who's a bit of a collector, this was pretty upsetting. I don't like paying full price for damaged goods.

The store only ever has a hand full of choices. Many of their used games don't go on display, you need to brows the website, to know what games are avalible. It's mostly a toy store.

Very pushy staff. If you start touching boxes to read the back, staff will start to hover and try to help, even if you repeatedly tell them you are trying to brows.

Some staff lie about the protection plan. I was given a long and false description about the protection plan, which is only 1 year and not life time.

In store, I am looking for some gaming stuffs related Pokemon. The equipment is not available for a long time, somehow the assist Kass gives me some information I could search and find. Really warm hearted and nice guy chatting with me for many gaming experience.

Honestly this place feels like a second home, the staff are just so friendly and always go the extra mile for me, example one time i was looking for 1 specific pop figure and one employee went through the entire wall of hundreds just to find it for me took him like 15 minutes, ill always check with them if they have a game before buying it online 90% of the time they do, they put games aside for me, theyre warrenty/exchange policies are amazing, and theyre truthful if a product isent good they will reccomend a better one or find "hidden gems" that are good but cheap products, anyways Best video game store in richmond:) theyre Biogenik brand is really good bought 2 products so far and enjoy them

Great store. Im still mad at the upkeep for onyx users. How do you expect your most loyal customers to spend thousands to maintain their status yearly. I literally stopped going after they took away my status away.that took me years to get. Oh well just my two cents.

My brother and I came into the store looking for a Nintendo switch, when a worker that was off duty for that day saw us struggling and came to help us right away. She was very informative and helpful. We had such a pleasant time at the store with Jamie and his team, you can really tell they are passionate about their job, and strive to make it an enjoyable place for everyone. %100 would come again!

I have nothing but great things to say about this store! The customer service is amazing and the feeling of actually having someone who wants to help you instead of being forced to help you cause its their job. JAMIE is a definite asset to this company. Blown away by the team at EB games- I feel like they should win the Olympics of service! My son (prob like every other 15 year old.) was convinced he wouldn't have a PS5 until he was 20. I had myself on all the lists for any drops for ages, but nothing. Just before Christmas I called EB, just to see if they had any ideas re.dates. The super positive sounding guy on the phone (maybe Jaime?) offered to take down my name and put me on the list. Lo and behold I got a call in April that 20 had come in, and it was our turn! The crazy part is that they seemed as excited as we were, and they really made the experience memorable. (Got lots of stares and comments in the mall with the coveted box.)

I will go out of my way to purchase here and recommend this business- so great to have an independent store that is so invested in their customers. Thanks to the whole team:)

Jamie and his team are the best, go see them for anything you may need. They are friendly, informative and fast. My favorite thing about their team is that they actually care for their customers and offer some really good options.

Incredible Customer service.

I'm super happy with the support from this store, the entire team is incredible.

I had an issue with an order and the whole team came together to solve it and make it right, super happy with this.

I wasn't expecting to get this level of customer service, but the store truly went above and beyond for me.

EB Games is embarrassing with how slow they move people through their store. It's basically a social function from what I've seen standing in line. People just chat with the employees for 20 minutes and then walk out without having bought anything.

Great spot to stay current in the video game world m, actually kind of the last place you can go to and physically pick up a game or trade in your old games for newer ones. I hope they keep going and survive this Covid BS.

Jamie and Kat are full of knowledge and always glad to help. The best staff ever! Super friendly and helpful. Always know where to find things in store even if you looked around and can't! If you can't find it in store they will hunt the item down until they find it! I shop alot and the experience at this location is just awesome! If your going to Richmond or you're already at Richmond centre you need to shop here!

I just wanted to give a HUGE shout out to Kaisyn. She was/is the most professional, nicest, and friendliest human being ever! I normally don't write reviews but she deserves all the praise. I had an issue where I pre-ordered a funko pop but it ended up not being the correct one. When I called in to ask where it was, Kaisyn was super helpful in re-ordering me the right one and making sure it was reserved for me. Unfortunately, when I came in to pick it up, it wasn't there but she was quick to solve my issue! In the end I got my huge baby Yoda funko pop thanks to her.

This location specifically is my go to as I live across the street. The staff here are awesome whether I'm in a good mood or not they find a way to treat me well and take care of me. Today went in to get a 3ds that came in for my son was ordered from the langley store which also have great staff! Was in loads of pain and 2hrs sleep and surely not happy lol but the staff was fast, nice to me and quick to get me on my way

Jamie, Kat, and the rest of the staff have always been friendly and accommodating. I appreciate how much interest they show in my taste in games and they are helpful in recommending titles I may be interested in. I am definitely sad to see the other Richmond store (Ironwood) close down but Im thankful that this will now be my go to store. One other reason in my mind why this store deserves 5 stars is because of how well they organize outside-regular-hours store events (i.e. Midnight openings). Great job guys!

EB Games at Richmond Center in B. C.is our go to for any gaming or fun gifts. There are 2 employeeI would like to point out.one being Jamie and another one being Kaisyn! They are both completely amazing and know their stuff. Jamie always has time to say hello to our family upon walking in, he could be doing 100 other things but takes that minute out to make us feel welcome and he treats us as if we are valued guests. Kaisyn is absolutely wonderful! He always remembers us and asks how the game is going that we purchased on previous visits. If we purchased a game he already has and we ask a question he always explains how to do this or that. As you can tell both of these men are what keeps customers coming back. I wanted to let someone know about the exceptional service we receive during every visit. Both of these employees deserve to be recognized and given a pat on the back because of their excellent customer service. Having worked as a CSR for over 25 years I know the difference between doing your job and going above and beyond, I assure you both Jamie and Kaisyn are above and beyond plus some.

First time in this eb games and I'm telling you i had the best experience in the richmond location tha any other eb games store I have been in. The lady that helped me didnt get her name but I was told she is the assistant manager she is rock solid.helped me with everything I was trying to find.the other staff was just as nice also.i think I found which eb games I will going to more from now on.

An associate named Kaisyn wouldn't leave me alone when I refused the protection plan. After refusing it he made a snarky comment about him trying to save me money. Really appalled at the behavior of this associate, I will not be coming back until something is done about it.
