Avoid this store at all cost! Very rude and patronizing staff. They clearly don’t want to be working there. Better try the store on Hillside or Langford- the staff is much friendlier

I have been collecting Pokémon cards over 10 years, I buy from Walmart toysrus Pokémon center and target everywhere. I started buying from GameStop this year because of their membership 10% discount, but I was so disappointed. I wanted to buy a lost origin elite trainer box today at 5: 50pm at mayfair shopping center location, the Phillipian like (dark skin not tall) man refused to grab me one that I saw on the shelf, he went to the back room that I couldn’t see and disappeared for several minutes, I wondered why he couldn’t give me one on the shelf (there were at least three) but I still paid for the one he gave to me. When I got home, i opened the box, when I saw the booster packs, my experience told me this trainer box this guy sold to me must have been OPENED, RESEALED, and REPACKAGED! I can tell from the sealing of two sides of the packs (you can learn how to tell a booster pack had been resealed on YouTube). I was so worried and I pulled all the 8 booster packs, Omg! I ONLY got 2 holo rares! What! No way I only got 2 holo rares from a whole elite trainer box! I don’t know whether it was done by this guy or by game stop. That is scary! If a company like GameStop does this kind of things to their customers, it means this market is dying, pokemon is dying, which is not what I would like to see. I think I should report this to GameStop headoffice and pokemon Canada to save their future. I will keep these packages for anybody who is interested in confirming the resealing. And, I will never shop at GameStop again, especially this one located at mayfair shopping mall Victoria bc. And I will not support this company or buy their stock again.

Had a pre order and was never called. The employee at the store confirmed I was never called. The employee confirmed to my wife and I apon arrival that no note was on file saying I was called. I was told “they must have been busy and missed you sorry”. Then the district manager who I contacted called me and told me I was in fact called called in a message left on my answering machine. So the district manager is calling me a liar? Very unprofessional to tell your 20+ year customer that they are wrong when your employee already confirmed otherwise. I will now purchase my gaming needs from elsewhere.

I thought we would have to wait forever to get our PS5 but they sourced one for us inside of three weeks.

Spent over $800 here and they forgot to pack part of my order. Wasted an hour of my time coming back and there was barely an apology let alone any effort to make me feel like a valued customer whose time they wasted by not paying attention to a basic part of the job. I'll be going online or to best buy for future purchases.

Very rude and unhelpful staff. Was greeted at the door and asked what I came in to find, stated I was looking for Wii Games and Accessories, looked for ten minutes without any luck. Tried to get the salesgirls attention to get help, but she was too busy talking to a friend. After waiting I finally got her attention and asked where I could find Wii items, she was very rude and said 'no one carries that' definitely could have told me that at the door. Staff needs better training.

Always love coming in to be faced with yet another argument with their proud staff regarding the mere existence of items i have previously purchased (!) or seen stocked there when trying to request they attempt to use the tools at their disposal to check inventory.great job douglas st.there are many other grievances to list but those are primarily corporate.one word douglas street. 'humility'.

The place is a overpriced on many items. Better to order online to get same items or from game makers like nintendo They offer nothing for trade in $ on popular great condition games

Absolutely horrible customer service, bought PS store gift cards from them that didn’t work, not valid says Sony. Called EB within an hour of purchasing the cards and they said there was literally nothing they could or would do. So if you enjoy giving money to EB for absolutely nothing in return you should definitely shop here.

Very helpful! Went in unsure of which Nintendo system to get, and they answered all of my questions and told me which would the best use of my money! Definitely recommend for the service and amazing pricing!

I am very fond of the service at this location. The staff here were able to put my name down for a copy of Doom: Eternal's collectors edition before the collectors edition was even available for pre-order.

I'll be wearing the Doomguy's helmet with pride, and I have the staff at this location to thank for it!

My visit today was alright. The Staff were attentive and knowledgeable with eagerness to satisfy customer's questions and requests. When I first walked into the store there were many people and had thought to myself. This is going to take a moment more than a few. And Well. The the competent staff quickly and politely dispatched the line up and before I know it. I was asking my questions and receiving answers. Unfortunately I was unable to purchase what I was looking for today but I will return in the future and buy what I was looking for.

Prices are terrible, staff are hit or miss. Don't trade in just sell yourself on Facebook marketplace

My husband loves this store. It is even fun for me although not my area of interest. Good advice on video games etc. They have a great membership program.

Very little Nintendo stock, and the sales staff are more concerned with chatting with eachother behind the desk.

Very little Nintendo section on the shelves. I asked if they had any 3ds games and they ignored me. I asked again and they opened a drawer behind the desk and said they had nothing I would want, shut the drawer and went back to ignoring me. The store is overcrowded with gaming and movie merchandise, with it taking over space for games.
