Spent a good chunk of my day looking for this “shop”. It is not the store in the photos. Imagine my confusion when the address posted led to a dilapidated house in a back alley. I called many times only to finally find out that this was the correct address. The moved here now. If you can’t afford to run a proper business then don’t waste people’s time.

I dealt with Leon the main bike mechanic there. Not only did my $80 for a "tune up" go down the drain, It lead to more expenses because of his bad advice and lackluster service. My bike had no improvements whatsoever after my visit there. Normally good business practice is to "under promise and over deliver". Unfortunately, I experienced the opposite.

I went in because my shifters and brakes had gotten harder to operate after I took my bike out of storage. He said the $80 "tuneup" includes labor for new cables if necessary and shifter adjustment. He did not recommend changing cables and housing but rather just lubed the shifters under the hoods. I had to take it to another shop and they immediately recommended to changes the cables and housing especially when they saw the rust on the exposed cables! For some reason, Leon did not diagnose this even though two other bike mechanics later told me that changing cables and housing is a "no brainer" for even the most rookie bike mechanic.

I told him my bike no longer shifted into the 10th cog. He played around with the hanger and cable adjustments and could not fix it. He then said I needed a new cassette and chain but to go elsewhere to fix it. He wasn't willing to order the parts nor install them. I thought that was rather strange! I installed a new cassette & chain elsewhere and of course it did not fix the problem. Normally you have to experience skipping when changing gears in order to lead to the conclusion that Leon came to.

So if you come across an older mechanic named Leon who is a fast talker and sounds like he knows what he is talking about, I would recommend you go elsewhere.

In response to the owner stating Leon no longer works there, I would question why he kept Leon employed for many years and why he did not offer me some sort of solution. So my opinion stands, I would not recommend Edmonds Cycle.

Best bike repair shop in Burnaby and New Westminster. We've purchased all of our family bikes from this store and the service and repairs are always fairly priced. I've been coming here for several years now. I have tried other bike shops around town but none come close to the expertise and honesty of this place.

Brought in my boxed bike for assembly. I called beforehand and verified the cost. Leon actually had the bike ready the same day I dropped it off! Would highly recommend for all your mechanical needs
