A relatively easy walk, not too far from the parking lot, but lots of stairs and uphill on the way back. Worth it though. You can enjoy the falls without going on the suspension bridge if it's not for you.
Beautiful sight and approx 10min walk from the parking lot. You have different options from this bridge to go for small hikes. Recommend to take the riverside loop trail!
This small hike to the Suspension bridge is doable for all ages. The water was nine times higher this year. So this made an even bigger spectacular visual and noise of the thundering falls. The suspension bridge is quite short though. The view from actual bridge is worth it though.
Follow the suspension bridge sign to find the closest parking lot. About 20 minutes leisurely easy hike from parking lot to the bridge. Lots of stairs to the view point. Out house toilets. Good Suspension bridge but don’t expect something like Capilano suspension. Good view of the falls.
This was really nice to visit, you can easily walk from the parking area to the suspension bridge. It takes you approximately 10 minutes to get there. Parking area offers lots of parking space, contrary to other tourist attractions where you have to fight someone for a parking space. After the walk you can enter the informative centre for free about hydro-electricity.
There are two separate areas and two waterfalls. The first turn-off from the road leads to an interpretive platform with a flight of substantial stairs that leads to an overall bridge. We arrived in this area first and saw a sign that tells us to drive further to the second turn-off to see the larger waterfall. I personally found the first waterfall more impressive because of the shear drop below. Unfortunately, we went there on a rainy day, so the pictures were misty. WARNING: steep anti-arthritic stairway, steep slope.
Easy walk from the parking lot, this park and its falls are a gem in Campbell River! If you're looking for a slightly longer hike, there are some nice trails around old growth trees.
A short walk along well maintained trail. The falls are magnificent as is the Suspension Bridge. Several other short trails are in the area and all are very well marked. There are maps at every trail intersection. Very impressed! Parking lot is easy to find on Brewster Road. Outhouses and BC Hydro Information Centre there as well and just a couple minutes drive to the dam.
Suspension bridge is right next to elk falls. The view is amazing. The bridge got see through bottoms and sides, and people who is afraid of heights probably have a hard time to cross.
Great little spot for a fairly easy hike through some old growth forest and then you get blown away by this incredible canyon with a good sized waterfall! Its a must see if you are in the area, highly recommend!
