Elysian Coffee - Broadway

Very nice atmosphere, but just very unprofessional staff. As soon as I set foot into the coffee shop - they didn’t even care to acknowledge me as a customer; and then when I asked a simple question, they weren’t too keen on answering it. Overall, I just felt very uncomfortable with the whole experience!

Update. June 10th. Now new fav muffin. Peanut butter & banana chip muffin! Still and always great americano. The almond and raspberry croissant, cheddar muffin, and pear & walnut muffin still on point! Staff and vibe top notch. Nice patio between 2 buildings. Hope the staff all get a raise! Now better than JJ Bean (too sour).

When it snows, shovel your sidewalk! It’s the law and basic neighbourliness. Currently your storefront is a hazard to your neighbours

I've given them multiple chances, the food is good but some of the staff is rude, they don't even Crack a smile and sometimes have not even said hello.then they want a bug tip? I don't think so

Food tastes Great! But they really should work on their customer service. Atleast take a name or give an order number during rush hours will create less confusion between customers.

I saw this place as one of the better coffee places in Vancouver and happen to be in the area, so I had to try. I ordered a macchiato which went down smooth with a hint of sweetness.

We walk by here everyday to catch the bus. My friend loves your cookies but they never get one. Finally the bought some. Why we waited so long I'll never know. What a delicious chocolate chip cookie. Yum

The staff at this location are always extremely friendly and quick with service. Coffee is some of the best around in Vancouver, however their baked goods are often extremely sweet and sometimes oily. With the exception of their croissants, that are delicious;)

I've been meaning to come here because I love the coffee at places that use their beans, but when I saw they had a rooibos chai and ended up getting that instead of anything bean. Pretty good chai latte, unsweetened (which is my preference) but very smooth. I also had the Rosemary Egg Muffin and a Friand. Egg muffin was really nice with the layer of melted cheese on top and made a light but surprisingly satisfying lunch. It was my first time seeing a friand and it sounded neat so I wanted to try, and really liked it! It's kind of like a cross between a poundcake and almond cookie - very dense, but soft and moist. They have a small assortment of other baked goods and 3 sandwiches (two meat sandwiches that I can't remember the details of and a grilled cheese). The food is priced pretty reasonably. They apparently have complimentary sparkling water but the friend I went with and I weren't offered any and I didn't see it mentioned anywhere, I only gathered this from watching other customers get it from the barista when they ordered. Very cool that they have it and I wish I'd known about it to take advantage when I ordered.
The front facade of the building is really pretty. The interior is basically a run-of-the-mill Vancouver coffee shop: clean and bright, lots of plants, lots of natural light. It's on the smaller side, but laid-out well so that it doesn't feel cramped or get congested. Baristas were nice and approachable.
From my perspective, it's a good place to try if you're in the area often, but it's not somewhere I'd go out of my way for. Even though it was my first time there I feel like I've basically been to this same shop dozens of times. Nothing really wrong with it, the food and drink was very good and the environment pleasant, just lacking character. But maybe I'm just being cynical.

Delicious coffee with almond cashew milk alternative, and great vibe, very chill and very nice baristas. A few nice outdoor seats for someone who wants to breathe a little

Great coffee. Nice seating options and well decorated with plants. The blend is great - i love that they have oat, soy and coconut milk (even though they charge extra but its everywhere in canada +0,75) havent tried the baked goods. Coffee is great

Cute coffee shop in a great location! Fast service and good prices. The jasmine green tea is amazing and the banana bread is tasty too!

Cute atmosphere with thoughtful accents.

However they have unreliable hours. Often times I will rush over to try and catch their closing time, only to see that they have a handmade sign to indicate early close. Sometimes it will be a multi-day notice/close, however on an instance such as today, it appears they put the sign up at some point during this same day.

Perhaps closing early due to not being busy enough, or due to short staffing.

Posting because it would appear this is becoming a common thing, and had to come up with a last minute, second plan gift idea as a result today.

So I wanted to spare others.

Loved our experience here! We dropped in for an oatmilk latte and a drip coffee. My partner was given the wrong kind of drip but it still tasted great and my latte was one of the best I've had in Vancouver. It's a nice cafe with a chill ambiance and lots of greenery. We’ll definitely come back

Latte was delicious. No complaints there. I did find the bakery items to be very small but with the same prices as everywhere else. The cookie smaller than the palm of my hand was $4. It was amazing so I had to buy another one. I'll pay $8 for a giant one.

Was happy to stop and enjoy a latte and treat on April 20,2022. Staff was in a fantastic mood and the atmosphere of the shop reflected this.

Great place to rest and people watch as well. Can't wait to come back.

Closes at 4 but chairs are up and they don’t let you sit at 3: 30. Not a welcome feeling! Just close at 3: 30 then.

Elysian Coffee - something more than just good coffee shop! Always try to visit it when on area. Would reccomend!

I love this place, the staff are awesome, the coffee's great and the food is so sooo good! They have a good selection of sweet and savoury bites to go with your beverage. If you're ever in the area and in need of a caffeine boost, make your way here!

Yum yum! Coffee was so tasty! I love when baristas know what they’re doing. Perfect texture, temp, and balanced espresso. Baked goods were really, really good. Great selection, with lots of vegan and gluten free options!

My espresso was good. Ps if you order a latte, they automatically give it to you as large so make sure you specify you want a small

The barista in there did not wear masks and we i ask her to do that, she gave me a bunch of excuses and unwillingly put on her mask, and smashed the coffee on the counter.when i am about to leave, she immediately took it off.so unprofessional and unethical to public health. I hate this place

Such good coffee and love the little sitting area they have outside in the lane beside the shop. I look forward to trying out their snacks next time.

The flat white was excellent. Bold flavour espresso and nicely presented. The scone was tasty but crunchy on the outside was different. A pleasant experience. I will go back next time I’m on Broadway

Amazing staff and amazing coffee! Very covid friendly and respectful with restrictions and masks. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about the different variety’s of coffee they produce and serve.

They would definitely get a 5Star if it wasn't for the fact that they are making the unfortunate decision of not accepting cash. I will not be returning until they do; I cannot support a business that refuses to accept legal tender. Top notch coffee, service and treats though! Hopefully when I call in next to check, they've changed their policy.

So great, really nice calm atmosphere. Its still during the pandemic when I write this and there is some outside seating. I'll look forward to sitting inside again in the future.

They specialize in coffee, some pastries, and toasted sandwiches. Theres a bathroom for customers.

Elysian Coffee at 590 West Broadway is excellent in protecting the health and safety of the staff and customers. And their coffee and pastries are awesome as well. I am looking forward to when my husband, daughter and I can dine in here and enjoy the wonderful ambience and the company of family, friends, and colleagues. Happy New Year Elysian Coffee!

Good place for good coffee, but I can never come back because it reminds me of my demonic ex who introduced me to the place. Oh well!

Another cute little coffee shop - stopped in here really quick to have a coffee while we waited to be called for to the brunch spot next door.

Came for breakfast and a coffee at 10am on a Sunday and the place was closed.no sign or anything!
Opening hours state 7-7 everyday.but clearly not today.

The staff are always wonderful here & I love how they take the time to leave foam designs on their drinks. The coffee has a rich and full taste, never disappoints. The peculiar thing is that Elysian does not have wifi; which definitely caught me by surprise.

The espresso I had was a bit watery. The black furniture next to the wall needs some maintenance. The personnel is very nice and professional.

Love their hazelnut cookie. I usually get the latte here. Staff is a hit or miss. Sometimes they're really friendly and sometimes you feel like you did something wrong.overall, worth trying if you are a coffee lover

Come here for a proper espresso based coffee. That's everything you need to know. You can sit at the bar near the window and watch people walking the streets of Vancouver. Take A minute just for you and your coffee. Then head out there and have a great day!

Although the space is a bit small and there isn’t much space to sit or move around in, their coffee is fantastic. They definitely do their mocha right, one size done to perfection. They have a variety coffees and daily specials. This place is definitely the best coffee shop in the area. I would highly recommend a visit here.

The cafe really "pops" out from the street and made me wander in. It was a good and relaxing place to grab some fresh brew coffee at 7am.

A lovely and cosy spot where the banana loaf is amazing (and vegan) and the coffee is great. Soy, oat and almond milks are available too.

Coffee was ok! Busy place with lots of regulars or people on the go. Staff were ok I guess can’t expect people to be happy early morning all the time. Street parking.

Worst Americano I've ever had! If your Americano does not have the rich creama then it's just black coffee with hot water, don't call it an Americano unless you know how to make one!

Smoothest espresso iced latte I’ve had ever (and I have had a lot!) it was almost a shame I had to mix it down. Very hipster decor and staff. Selection of baked goods is very limited or overly curated, dunno.

Great coffee, good size and comfortable cafe for drink-in and I love that they offer you still or sparkling water from behind the bar. Only criticism is that the water glass could be bigger.

Excellent coffee, good selection of small pastries. Also sell small batches of house roasts. I had a latte and a chocolate walnut cookie.

My opinion? ‘Tis the best coffee beans in the neighbourhood! Keeping it simple and satisfying with high quality pours and goodies. This little shop is killing it. Topped off with really talented and lovely worker bees) thanks Elysian!

Friendly staff, amazing tasting breakfast sandwich and lattes. Only reason I can't give 5 stars is because they don't have WIFI. Which sucks as I purchased a for here beverage to do some work on my laptop and didn't find out til after they don't have wifi: (Hard to compete with everyone else that has wifi.

Had the opportunity to check out this place as a part of a coffee tour. Loved learning about how all the staff here are on the same level (ie no one has more power over another) and how they encourage the employees to read and grow. The treats were amazing and their nitro brew was so worth it! A beautiful cafe!

Five stars for the coffee while 1 for the baked good. Coffee is always excellent but the berry “scone” is best left behind. The berry scone here is like a doughy cold tasteless muffin top. We’ve had other baked goods here and always good. Best if they mention to their bakery supplier that these are not scones and replace with something else.

Elysian is consistently one of Vancouver's top tier coffee shops. Still doing an excellent job after all these years.

Lovely cafe. Didn’t get 5 stars as they didn’t have vanilla for the London fog and the shortbread could have been more buttery. Otherwise nice staff, quick service, different options to sit; tables or high table looking out the front window.
