Both my daughters were with me today. Together we decided shopping for fresh berries and vegetables was a fabulous way to spend the day. Emma Lea farms has ice cream Sundays, shakes, soft serve or hard, you're choice. Outside seating is perfect for a coffee break. Fresh flowers and eggs are also available. In the freezer; an assortment of farm fead meats and poultry are ready to take home. All of the farms on Westham Island keep our community thriving. "Farm to table" is by far the best way to feed your family.
Awesome farm. Do you want to collect yourself or buy assembled. In addition, local vegetables, juices and honey. Strawberries and raspberries are the best Playground, next to the pen with donkeys. Cafe with ice cream. Large parking lot. Tourist zone. The prices are a bit overpriced. For example blueberries a box of 10 pounds they have $38, and on a regular farm $25. (For 2023)
Very nice and relaxing roadside place to visit, to see lots of sunflower plants, to have an ice cream cone, buy a bottle of honey and a bag of potatos, etc.
We visit every year and this year they change the rules Anyone over 12 need to purchase their own pint starting from $4 smallest one for blueberry and if mix berries would be $6 Next size up be $17 tray can hold about 5.5 lb Bigger bucket at $27 for blueberry The farm also getting very serious with security they asked to check our bags and handbags on the way out
I bought a pint of pre picked raspberry and under layer was very mushy and soft I thought they gave me jams
Self picked raspberry was much better quality They only have limited raspberry today
Pretty good blueberries if they have any. Came a few days earlier and once again today, but the quality and quantity of the berries have diminished.it seems that the farm has picked most their own berries.
There are quite dusty paths, so bring a pair of shoes that are fit for that.
Decent parking area. Pretty big farm but you have to walk to get to the blueberry patches. They sell you a bucket and you can fill it to your heart's content. No personal buckets allowed. Hand washing stations present. Despite the rain when I came, my kids enjoyed it. Playground is open. The farm will sell some produce, from flowers to garlic to corn to various vegetables.
Spent under an hour. I was there mainly for strawberries. I've had some excellent strawberries, these weren't it. Emma Lea is more like an attraction for kids.
It's quite an experience to go fruit picking there. First you travel through delta which is like a piece of heaven with a beautiful sky and cartoon-like clouds. Then you get to the farm. Many people start with having food and picnics. Then you buy pints, buckets or boxes depending on how much fruit you plan to pick. Everything is straightforward. I recommend buying bigger containers because the blueberries were so delicious that I regret we don't pick more. Unfortunately, at that time just the blueberries were ripe enough to pick.
Amazing farm for berry picking. The strawberries were very sweet. There were few black current which were average. If you are a strawberry lover must go for great berries and picking expirence.
I have been coming here for years and have always bought their boxed blueberries. They never disappoint. Thank you for continuing to serve our community in Delta and beyond!
2022 strawberry season is pretty dismal. Most of the strawberries are immature/not ripe. I think they should have delayed the opening longer to let the strawberries mature more. The plants also seem to have less foliage than previous seasons.
Just cannot believe they are still selling this end of season strawberries. Pretty much all got really soft and just one step before moulding and rotting. $17 for 2 pounds to rip you off, this place really needs to do some business with honesty.
This place isn't good as it was years ago. You get charged upfront for bucket and potential berries. No refund! You have to line up at the check-in desk on weekend! Just to pick berries next to other 200 - 300 people. (some of them wore plastic gloves for some reason). On this farm the customer is the product not the berries anymore. Passing by signs with a variety of "do`s and don'ts" I missed every kind of farm spirit. This place has no soul anymore. Don't recommend for families who want enjoy a relaxed farm experience.
I spoke to the manager. The response: "This is the easiest way to do for US! ". Well, good luck with that approach. We have visited that place last time. Never again.
We had a great experience, enjoyed picking fresh and great taste strawberries. Loved it, with a big place for car parking for everyone. Friendly people at work!
They run a great upick and have a fun playground area where there is a refreshment stand. The strawberries and blueberries are always a hit, but did you know they grow black currants and tayberries as well? !
Also, they sell the best pies in their market made in Ladner by blackbird pies. You take them home and bake them and they are worth the trip to the farm alone. They also sell high quality meat, eggs and preserves in their market.
We love this place. But, I don't know what is going on. Their prices are only going higher and higher (like, a Lot). They don't allow your buckets and you have to purchase theirs - COVID, I know, but they found a good way to make more money.anyways. The experience is better than the prices. If you live nearby, it is still a nice place to bring kids, but it is a good idea to bring your own meal.
My favourite strawberry farm. Went on a Tuesday late afternoon. Not crowded. Delicious berries to take home plus enjoyed a yummy vegan ice cream treat. Sunshine. Blue skies. Time in bountiful nature. So nourishing.
Nice strawberry picking experience, but be prepared for long lines and crowds. Long lines into parking, long lines for admissions, long lines for food. This year the strawberries were not as nice as last year, so the star rating is an average of previous experiences.
Super delicious fresh u-pick strawberries! (way, way better than those unripe or mouldy store bought ones) At first I was a little concerned about the relatively small size of the strawberries, but I didn't need to worry because they were so sweet and juicy! Plenty of strawberries to pick from the farm (as of today). All the staff were friendly and helpful as well. I would definitely go back!
Our go to farm in summer for strawberry picking! A 5L bucket for $21 and they have very delicious strawberry!
We also love their ice cream, milk shake, and smoothie! You can buy cherry, strawberry, raspberry etc at their shop too.
They also have donkeys on site, and they are very friendly.
There is also a small playground for kids.
Just be aware that if you come on weekends, it would be packed; and crossing that bridge to their farm could be up to one hour wait sometimes. Morning is usually busy too. I find that 1-3pm is less busy.
You may also want to bring a pair of gloves to pick the strawberry to avoid mess. I would also recommend to bring extra clothes for kids as they will get very messy! It’s very dusty walking on the farm, so wear appropriately.
Beautiful and well design place, totally worth a family trip with kids, the blueberry Pick Up, the shop, the ice cream and the food truck they all add to the experience.
This place is a great experience with anyone and fun. They also have an ice-cream place, food, baked goods and so on. Little pets like donkeys and play ground area for kids and wheelchair accessible too. It's well set up and organized aswell. Acres of all kinds of berries to pick. Especially the strawberries looked like they were on steroids, so enormous and sweet.
I stumbled across this place on the way to the Riefel bird statuary. What a place! It is a great place for families, our toddler loved it! The soft serve ice cream is amazing and so are the strawberries. I also bought some beets which were fantastic as well. The staff is so friendly, the place is immaculate and their is a playground, donkeys, tractors, sandbox and more for the kids! Love this place! We will be back soon!
This place should be SHUT DOWN. Have overflowing outhouses that should have been blocked off weeks ago, or pumped weeks ago. NO social distance at all, this is a COVID 19 breeding zone. When you finally make it past the line in the parking, the line for baskets is extremely poorly set up and everyone is in your space. GREAT place to catch COVIS for only $24 a bucket! The field was over crowded with no direction or crowd control at all!
Underwhelming strawberries compared to last year and the significant raise in price does not reflect in the quality. There was nothing left to pick, all that was left were small and unripe. We could barely fill the bucket, yet the staff kept the crowd coming.
Awesome Upick farm perfect for families. The playground, ice cream shop and donkeys make it extra fun for little ones. Their strawberries were huge and juicy. Definitely a must visit
Locally grown strawberries are the best in town. Available as ready picked or u pick. And must stop by their ice cream shop to finish off a fun day with family or love ones.
Went for strawberry u-pick today and the strawberries were absolutely DELICIOUS! The best I've ever had and I eat a LOT of strawberries. The fields are so well-maintained and clean, I was so impressed. My 3-year old daughter had so much fun, I am planning on coming again with her. My family had lunch at the picnic tables right by the parking lot and appreciate how they keep the area very clean with lots of hand sanitizers and hand washing stations. Saw all the nice reviews about the jams - they sold out of strawberry jam so we got blueberry and raspberry instead. Cannot wait to try! Thank you to everyone working at the farm - you can tell they put in extra effort to make this visitor and kids friendly.
Lovely farms.went on a weekend. Price for 5l bucket was 21 and for a larger one 45. Fill it with amazing fresh strawberries and many more berries. Icecream shopee is a cherry on cake with a food truck. Has playzone for kids, washrooms and water facilities so you wont regret coming here for any reason.
Very cute farm to visit during the summers. Breathe fresh air, pick some berries, have an ice cream topped with some berries and bring back home some fresh berry jams. Nice day out!
Picked Blueberries that were in seasoon and tasty, well maintained area with iceacream, sundaes and scones to enjoy.good assortment of fresh picked fruits, veggies, honey and cant wait to try my blueberry and strawberry jams.
Really cheerful, friendly staff! Great selection of fresh produce (especially berries!), and efficient checkout. Great, vibe on the weekend, and awesome place to come or a family activity on the weekend if you have small kids.
The country side is so much fun in Delta, BC.and this place is only 40 mins away from Vancouver.so worth the drive! Blueberry and raspberry picking.so many berries you can pick a good fresh batch off the bushes in less than 30 mins. But remember bring gloves if you are picking the raspberries because those thorns are prickly. If you don't want to pick yourself this location has a fairly cute market set up that you can just pick up and go. Fresh grass fed meat, fresh eggs, other fresh grown veggies and fruits as well you can grab on the go. The best part is lining up after you pick your own. The smoothies, milkshakes, sundaes, and ice cream with generous amounts of fresh fruits and berries from the farm. The staff is nice and helpful and very polite.
