ENe Raw Food and Sake Bar

This is not authentic Japanese food. The karaage curry used very authentic Indian curry instead of Japanese curry and the karaage was so dry. The croquettes are not authentic at all. The mini poke has tomato in it, honestly who puts tomato in a poke?

Not from town. Discovered this gem while browsing downtown. Loved it so much I've been here back to back days!

Very accommodating to food allergies! Excellent service! The server was asked about allergies and after telling her I had some, she was vigilant in making sure everything was safe for me. Another server (may have been the sushi chef?) also came out and talked to me about how they can make a gluten item, gluten free. For example, the yam tempura roll could be made with steamed yams instead of tempura:) Note: they do have a shared fryer so any deep fried items are not gluten free.

Excellent sushi and Nigiri. The whiskey and Sake selections are expansive and I couldn't resist trying a large number which ended up doubling my bill - which was worth it!

Our server Natasha was very professional. Food wise, not blown away. Sweet sake flights and Dassai 45 sake flights are a must try! Matcha cheesecake was sooo delicious
Overall, it was a good experience.

Not recommend sukiyaki and hot pot. The serving is too small and not worthy. We had diarrhea afterward. But the service was very good and atmosphere was good. Alcohol was good as well.

Variety of tapas. Liked E: ne Cerviche and Tako Wasabi. For Sashimi and oysters, it wasn't super fresh but decent. Loved Sweet & Unique sake flights.

One of our top favorite meals in Victoria! Everything we tried here was amazing! My lychee sake spirit was refreshing on a warm afternoon. If I had to choose a favorite dish - its got to be the ceviche! Soo good! Highly recommend.

Came here last night and was reminded why this is my favourite restaurant in Victoria. The staff are so friendly, the drinks are delicious and unique, the food is incredible and atmosphere is fabulous. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very kind and attentive! I’ll never get over the quality of food they serve, it’s just fantastic. Definitely try a sake flight as they have a massive selection of different sakes which they are very knowledgeable about!

Great sushi spot with fresh ingredients. They offer a variety of sake and cocktails. The happy hour offers are an added bonus to taste buds and your wallet.

The best sushi in town! I have been in search for my new local spot for sushi since moving and this hands down is the best in all of Victoria! Their happy hour menu is such a great deal and on top of that it tastes amazing! Such a beautiful space with amazing staff!

We went for a family dinner here and were blown away! We had the sommelier's choice sake flight and tried about half the dishes between us all. Everything was stellar. The beef tataki was a standout dish.

We ordered here through Ubereats, the delivery service was good. The guy even came up to our unit to deliver it before I even go down the stairs to get the door.

However the food was unacceptable and gross. The fish was poor quality, just chewy and bitter. DO NOT ORDER THE MINI POKE. They put wayyyy too much mayo on it. At this point it isn’t even a poke anymore, my roommate works at a poke place before and she said it doesn’t taste like poke even a little bit. And that, in combination with having the food delivered to our place, by the time we get the food, the whole thing was soaked in mayo and it is absolutely gross. We couldn’t finish it, it makes us feel sick. I am a fan of mayo in general but this is too much and not okay. The avocado in the poke was also too ripe, taste like plain guacamole without red onion and tomatoes or lemon.

The other sushi is called Rock Steady Roll. It is not the best either, the sauce taste like nothing on here and everything is mushy. Nothing flavourful or interesting, despite the fact that you have avocado, cream cheese, cooked salmon, red onion, and whatever else in here. I can’t taste anything at all.

We are very disappointed with the order and expected at least some parts of the order refunded. Will not order here again.

One of my favourite restaurants in my visit to Victoria. The staff were incredibly friendly, took the time to explain all the menu items to our table. The food was absolutely incredible, from the waygu carpaccio to the sashimi and sake everything was out of this world. I'll be back in my next visit.

Food, drinks, and service were outstanding and the happy hour is nigh unbeatable. Will be returning when we’re back in Vic!

This place is a sushi lover’s dream! Unbelievably delicious food. Even better than nubo in my opinion! Adventurous menu, tasty drinks, and lovely polite staff. Chefs have serious talent. Would give 6 stars if possible!

Was at Nubo 3 months ago and the food was amazing so my second visit in 2021 I had to try ENe and the food does not disappoint at all. Sitting at the bar, I've noticed the bartender and all the staff were super friendly and courteous. Definitely will be coming back each time we're back in Victoria for our japanese tapas fix!

Great spot! Loved the food and the service was good. The wait times can get pretty long but seems like you can get takeout. Really nice atmosphere inside but it is quite small so it’s typically busy.

Definitely a great selection of sake with some delicious plates. 3 stars are for the unfortunate setbacks from our visit:

- Sashimi that came with our omakase had a bone in it. It was a bright tuna so I can see how it was missed. Still a bit hard to ignore for a $50 dish at a sushi restaurant.

- Oshi sushi was tasty but the rice to fish ratio was a bit ridiculous. Easily 80% rice to 20% fish. I've been to several places that are much more generous with their cuts which gives a much nicer balance.

- Mandu that came with our omakase tasted and looked a lot like the frozen dumplings I get at H-Mart. Still tastes good and can't say for sure but thought that was a bit interesting.

ENe nonetheless has some very tasty options, just a shame that there's plenty of better options at more reasonable prices.

Great food, great vibe, great service! The sashimi is super fresh, I especially like the tuna, it was very delicious. All the hot food is solid as well. In terms of service, our waiter was extremely helpful and friendly, and they even offered us a complimentary birthday dessert… oh yes, the crepe cake, I think it’s a must try!

Jay and staff are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. Their service is top notch. The sashimi is always fresh and amazing. Their knowledge of the different Sake and Japanese Whiskey is unmatched. Every time I come here I have a great experience, and I've taken many friends and coworkers here, who all rave about their experience afterwards. I have nothing but good things to say about E: NE. Do yourself a favour and have a bite and drink here, I guarantee you will NOT be disappointed.

A fantastic spot for a classy Japanese date. The sashimi is very fresh and the options plentiful. Sampled a lot of the menu between the four of us and was perfectly satisfied at the end for a very reasonable price. Will surely be back many times. The bar selection is fantastic to boot!

Came here to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday - services are phenomenal from the time I called to make a booming to leaving the restaurant. An overall great experience! Food is of high quality, I went with the no brainer options of the omakase and the chef choices of sashimi. They ended up overlapping quite a bit so would encourage you to pick one over another.

I spent about $50 on delivery for my order, the actual sushi was the worst part. Salmon was chewy, low quality pieces, could not eat properly. All 3 rolls were jammed into one small takeout container and all stuck together and squished. I ordered 3 rolls to share with two other people and it was a disgusting mess that was more work than it should have been.

Who ever was doing the sushi rolls last night did a bad job, my dynamite roll wasn't made properly either, or they just accidentally made a prawn tempura roll instead of a dynmite roll.

I used UberEATS, the delivery was fast and the driver did a good job but the food was disappointing overall. Dumplings were good, Karaage was acceptable but the batter or coating they use isn't that great compared to other places and I wouldn't order it again.

Shino is awesome, Ene is amazing, I cannot praise them enough, we will be back many times and highly recommend this experience.

Food was decent. Nothing too fancy but good enough. The lower rating is because of the service. The server was kinda rude. Could not count the correct number of plates (we were 4 and she gave us 3 plates). When we asked for one more, it seems like I was asking for something that was super hard to get. It took super long before she got our order (the restaurant was not full). Service needs to be better

Good food, amazing drinks. Highly recommend “the best of best” sake flight cos it’s truly the best. The omakase is also pretty good, the freshly caught west coast water salmon really hit the spot.

Great food and service. They greet every customer (that's what the staff is all saying when someone new enters) as is customary in Japan. Attentive and engaging experience.

Service, service, service. Second establishment today in this neighborhood that just fell short on the basics of patronage. Our server that we were ready and waiting for 15 minutes after being seated, on multiple occasions just simply ignored us. Once, totally understandable as they could have other tables waiting on the same; the second time at least acknowledge the fact and that you'll be to help us shortly, but after the third time it's just simply rude. The quality of the sashimi was top notch, the aburi board was great; the oshi sushi fell short of expectation as the rice to fish ratio was twice as much as needed. Icing on top was the fact that one of the appitizers we ordered, and forgot about throughout our dinner, arrived as we took our last bites of the meal; and the reason provided was "the chef forgot about it". Funny enough, so did we, and when we eluded to that fact, our servers response "if you don't want it, I can eat it for you, it's on you. ". Wow!

Ok, so you know when you find THAT place where the food is trippy good, and the staff are amazing and the atmosphere is crazy awesome? This is THAT place. We ordered the Omakase Shokado and it was Omazing and Shokingly delicious. See what I did there? Make this a bucket list place, as long as your bucket list is tommorrow.

Despite the current global situation, I had an extremely safe and catered experience. I was at ENE sake bar in Victoria, and they made the dinning experience entertaining! My friends were very impressed by the knowledge our server had in regards about sake and the food. We finished our meal with a sake bomb that was quite exhilarating. Definitely will be back there in the future.
