Love walking here along the River with my dog, best part is all the trails are off leash for us dog lovers

I loved this trail very much. There is a nice, easy, tranquil walk either through a graded stone path or a trail through the woods. Both are very nice and easy. I take my kids and dog and they both love it. There is also a nice spot along the river bank that is both sandy and rocky and private. I would highly recommend.

This spot was an absolute staple growing up in the area.

In the summer this place is perfect for swimming. The nose is a spot to jump into the river and the height is perfect for almost all ages. When you're young, it might be scary the first few times, and when you get used to it, it's the perfect spot to try out some new tricks.

The water is fresh and cool, my favorite conditions for swimming.

Some people fish here and I find they are careful to avoid swimmers.

There are lots of trials to walk the dogs.

As you can see there is lots to do in this beautiful spot! If you visit please be respectful, take care of any garbage, and don't bring glass to the river. Let's keep this place pristine for everyone! Enjoy!

This is a HUGE Provincial park and conservation area, roughly 207 hectares that was acquired in 2005 when the province partnered with the Regional District of Nanaimo, The Nature Conservancy of Canada, Ducks Unlimited and The Nature Trust of B. C. (don't quote me on that, I'm relying on my failing memory). Trails wind through the park and near the picturesque Englishman River that runs through it with a couple of foot Bridges to cross and provide views of a couple pretty impressive waterfalls. Most impressive in the winter or early spring when the snow melt significantly increases the volume of water in the river. It is a beautiful park with easily navigable trails which also makes it busy of course. A definite must see for those who haven't already.

Short walk from parking to the bridge but if you want the actual trail, it's longer but beautiful!
