Very nice facility with modern meeting rooms, however no screen, TV or projector available? The big outdoor pond looks nice but makes it feel cold in the winter.
The Esquimalt Gorge Park & Pavilion is a great place for many occasions. There is ample parking, the grounds, including the Japanese garden are well maintained and family friendly. The new Pavilion with the Japanese Architectural design is a delightful space with a variety of rooms or divided rooms for meetings from 10 to 150. A little gem hidden in plain view along the Gorge waterway.
Very nice, peaceful, relaxing garden near the pavilion. There are stone dedications around describing a visit made by some folks from Japan some years (approx.mid-1900s?) back. Feels like some Japanese culture influenced the design of the garden and stream. The river is nearby too.
Very cool place. I only visited once, and that was for Tsukinocon Matsuri (a summer-time anime convention; contrast with the regular Tsukinocon event which takes place during the winter, typically at UVic, i.e. University of Victoria). I had a good time.
Nice park for a walk: many trails and gorgeous view of the Gorge waterway. Also there's an off-leash dog area where many regulars meet every day. There's the pavilion, of course. And finally, there's various entertainment / market activities (check calendar for dates). I walk through here, or it's my destination, often!
Lot of activities you can do here. There’s a playground, picnic area, pavilion and lots of places to hike and wildlife watching. The only thing I don’t like is there is an unleashed areas for dogs but sometimes the owners let them go to the other side where they should be leashed. I don’t feel safe.
Visit the pavilion, beautiful building and read the very interesting and sad story about our atrocities to Japanese Canadians. Visit Japanese garden as well and leave your dog at home.
Easy, relaxing, beautiful walk- way along the water. Canoes Club, playground, fields and nature house for children, waterfalls with ponds near the recreation center, a beautiful Japanese Tea Garden, many benches to rest.so lovely.thanks to Victoria Esquimalt.
Esquimalt Gorge Park is my favourite place which popular among outdoor enthusiasts for its excellent recreational opportunities. From biking and jogging to kayaking and paddleboarding, there's something for everyone to indulge in and stay active amidst the refreshing natural surroundings. The park's main highlight is undoubtedly the picturesque Gorge Waterway, which offers stunning views and a perfect spot for relaxing by the water. The park's amenities, such as clean restroom facilities and well-maintained picnic areas, contribute to a comfortable and enjoyable visit.
My first date with my husband was at this park so it clearly holds a special spot in my heart. I love the Japanese Gardens, walkways along the water, and now the children's park. My two year old was enjoying the jungle gym, and it's a great spot for a picnic. Garbage cans and recycling bins throughout the park, as well as public washrooms. The new pavilion looks amazing from the outside would love to see inside
This is a good park for kids with a good playground and a nice beach. It also has a good path with lovely gardens that brings you right along the Gorge water way.
For my money the prettiest park in Greater Victoria. The views along the Gorge are breathtaking. There is a very nice Japanese Garden (for those who like that sort of thing), a farmer's market on Mondays near the newly completed pavilion, and a playground near a small beach. Quiet and rarely busy, there is parking off Sioux Place and much more off of Tillicum.
Beautiful spot, great place for a picnic with many benches and beautiful big trees. The Japanese garden is so pretty. Perfect place for families as well with the playground and beach.
