I have been coming here for years and Maryam has always done such a wonderful job altering my clothes. I have had some tough alterations and she is always able to get the best work done on them. She is amazing at what she does! I wouldnt dare let anyone else touch my clothes.

Maryam, the lady who runs this place, was excellent. She went out of her way to provide good customer service. She offered to stay open a little late, and when I couldn't make it, and made it in the next day instead, she remembered and offered same day service with discounted pricing for excellent invisible mending done on the premises. Highly, Highly Recommend this store!

Came hopeful to get items repaired. Was treated to a humiliating experience of pulling out clothing, and the person at the shop telling me it’s not worth repairing and I should throw it out. In the end, of 15 items, only 3 were deigned worth of her time, and ‘allowed’ go be left to be repaired. When I picked them up, I saw the most shotty repair job I have seen in my life. Jeans that were ripped were fixed but you could still see both the rip and the stitch. On top of everything, I was accused to have not paid yet (I had already send an e-transfer).

I brought my wedding dress in for alterations one month before my wedding, as directed by Maryam. My dress needed the straps fixed and to be shortened. When I dropped my dress off it was measured to size, and Maryam asked me to pick it up one week before the wedding. When I arrived at the store to pick up my dress, I unfortunately forgot my shoes but did try it on for the length as directed by Maryam, it was difficult to tell at the time as I had not brought my shoes. I let Maryam know I would try it on at home with the shoes but since it was measured with my shoes on previously, I assumed it would be done correctly. Unfortunately when I arrived home and tried it on with my shoes and it was much too long. The seam was showing at the bottom of the dress, it seemed to have been ironed to the correct length but not sewed. Additionally there was blue chalk residue visible on the dress, while this can be removed I should not have been sent home with chalk still visible. By the time I had returned home, Maryam was closed for two days and my wedding was several days away. Given the work done on my dress was not to my satisfaction, and my wedding was in a few days I made the decision to have my dress altered correctly at another shop. At this other shop 2-3 inches of liner was cut off my dress and an additional inch at the bottom. I called Maryam when she reopened and explained the situation, and requested a partial refund for the hemming that was done incorrectly. Unfortunately Maryam did not agree to provide a refund and instead noted she would fix the dress. Given my wedding was in two days, and it was done incorrectly the first time, I did not wish to return to Maryam. In my experience with Maryam, she was very kind and does have a very busy shop which leads to be to believe she is a skilled seamstress, I would not however recommend her for wedding dress alterations.

Maryam altered a skirt for me. I needed the waist let out a bit and she was able to do so by replacing the inner waistband elastic while preserving all of the original fabric and keeping the appearance identical. She was incredibly friendly, accommodating, and the price was reasonable. Turnaround time was quick and I'm very happy with the work. I will definitely see her again next time I need a garment altered. Thank you!

The owner is very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I've used her shop several times in the past including alterations to my dress uniform. Excellent service in every respect, quick turn around and reasonable prices

Expert alterations, have had dresses and jeans taken in and knit sweaters repaired. Wouldn’t take my alterations anywhere else.

She said she could hem my super-wide, long, flowy skirt-like pants, no problem, but she made the hemming so wide that it completely ruined the look of them. It stops the flowiness and now they look clunky and cheap. If I knew she wasn’t going to do an original hem, I could’ve done the same job with the sewing skills I learned in grade 8! If I had more time in N Van and hadn’t moved overseas I would’ve gone back and asked her to re-do them. And to top it off, she charged me double ($40) for her work. Unhappy customer. She can hem jeans well, but I wouldn’t trust with anything delicate.
