Doctor seems irritated and bothered by my questions. Interrupts me while talking. Finds blame with me as reason to not help. Feel worse after appt.

Dominique at the front desk was amazing! I was having trouble for weeks finding an appointment anywhere in town, and instead of just turning me away immediately due to a lack of walk in appointments she talked with me and was able to help me out! Great service and was very caring

Had a very lovely experience here today. I just needed a quick ear flush and got in same day, receptionist was very very lovely.

Dr. Smardon does not seem to have signed up for the new BC longitudinal family physician (LFP) payment model which allows family physicians to be compensated for spending extra time with patients, especially those with complex needs.

I left a bad review awhile ago. Maybe I was a bit rude. But Smardon is not fit to be a doctor anymore. Reading the reviews of other patients, makes me feel better knowing I am not the only one who feels the same about Smardon’s professional approach to dealing with patients… I wish I could give this place a 0 star rating. The receptionist is always, always rude i don’t recall ever having a pleasant or a good conversation with them.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Receptionist was extremely rude off the bat, when asking for a same day appointment she immediately talked down to me and told me "well there is no way we're going to do THAT, you need to book a week in advance". When I asked if they did walk in appointments, she said "that's more of a side thing, you can't just call here expecting an appointment on the same day".

Extremely rude, extremely combative reception, and the doctor himself is a pill-pusher who prescribes medication without necessary formal background assessments. Don't waste your time, this practice should have been shut down years ago.

Maybe people are posting negative reviews because they don't want the doctor getting more patients? I went there this morning, saw him right away, and he was great!

Extraordinarily rude and lazy. Incompetent family member for receptionist. Unapologetically disengaged and openly feeling sorry for himself. Only access as last resort.

Good experience, friendly staff. Dr Smardon was businesslike and knowledgeable and his style suited my personal needs. Overheard him with another patient and he spoke kindly.

Rudest dr I’ve ever met. He acted like I was such an inconvenience and taking up his time. He was disrespectful and condescending.

I shall not be returning. The most unpleasant 15 mins I have encountered in my few visits to a BC Medical Walk-In Clinic. Dr Smardon was somewhat unsupportive to put it mildly. The receptionist was professional, kind and ……. Embarrassed. Bless her:)

Was told they were a walk in got there said they could get me in than said no we can't overall bad time

This place is a joke. Dr. Smardon’s receptionist was extremely rude to me over the phone - when I asked for the results of a blood test that was faxed to their office, she berated me for calling in and said I could access the results online (not true for the specific test I got btw, confirmed by lifelabs). She said she could tell I was going to be a handful/a lot of work even though all I did was give my name and ask if a fax had come in for me with blood test results. She flipped out at me when I told her she was being rude/insulting to me for no reason, screeching something about how she’s worked as a receptionist for 24 years (I hung up in the middle of her rant). I came in the next day to get my fax in person with my partner and when I brought up the rude phone call with the doctor, he was super dismissive of the way I felt, didn’t even seem surprised, didn’t apologize, didn’t seem to care. Came to find out that harpy was his DAUGHTER. Lol! Explains everything. Avoid this place at all costs.

I booked an appointment to obtain a referral for a specialist as I am new to Victoria. From the moment I arrived, it was extremely evident this is NOT a place to receive patient focused care! The Doctor was rude and unprofessional, choosing to express his unsolicited personal opinion on my choice to relocate here. I was warned by a nurse of his unpleasant demeanour, but nothing could have prepared me for this!
I will not be returning under any circumstances.

Visit dr. Roy as i needed a quick rx, dont like the way he explained things. And the most unpleasant experience is his admin dominic. She is very rude. I will never waste my time going to this clinic anymore.

I saw some reviews before I go but this one was the only clinic I could make a reservation so I went.
First of all R. Smardon should not be a doctor. He gave me pointless advice and he said I am in hurry so he left. Right after I left this clinic I start felling sick it’s been linger couple of days. I went to see a doctor to cure my own problems but they gave me more problem. My advice to everyone Don’t even consider to go.

Negative star. RUDE dr ever.i am not usually a person to write review bt his behaviour was awful.

No stars! But I have to give one to post. No wonder I was able to see him right away? I will have nothing to do with this kind of 'victimizing' doctor.

Quick in and out. Has been my doctor for the past 5 years. Does not have a great rapport with patients but I think he knows he's stuff. Lots of change of receptionist but they are all very good.

He is old, out dated, and uneducated. Smardon’s tone, and attitude always comes off as rude, he strikes me as someone who is racist. I do not like his receptionists they are also always rude and impatient when you try to book an appointment to see Smardon. He still uses a paper filing system which seems silly most doctors offices use a computer filing system. He needs to retire I am now seeking a different medical clinic to go to now. So thank you Smardon for wasting my time with your awful practice.

By far, the worst walk in doctor experience I’ve ever had. Not usually one to write a negative review but I really don’t want others to have this experience. Dr. Smardon was rude, dismissive, and discouraging. I left crying because I felt so disrespected. He wouldn’t listen to me at all and was googling “best probiotic for IBS” and recommending things I’ve said I have tried and don’t work.he then walked out of the room as I was still talking and clearly didn’t understand what the solution was.
The receptionist was so kind and helpful! She was amazing.
After reading other reviews I feel better knowing I’m not the only one whose had this experience. Go elsewhere if possible!

I had an unexpected medical event and Dr. Smardon was exceptional at taking matters in hand. He immediately sent me for testing, diagnosed the issue and most likely saved my life. To this day I am very appreciative of his swift decision making and fortitude to be respectful, quest to find out what was going on with me. I will and actually have sent others to see him because he goes and researches right away while in the clinic.

I'm disappointed in Dr S. Hes been my doctor for 27 years. He needs to retire. Hes rude. Hes uneducated and he makes you feel like a victim when you ask for help. He refuses to listen to his patients. If you dont listen to him he punishes you like hes your father. The advocates from the crisis team spoke to him on my behalf. He is no longer my doctor. I fired him. I'm having a lot of trouble trying to get my medical documents fir my Union. Thanks to DrS I'm forced to fly to Orlando to get proper medical care from my American doctors who actually care. Do not go and see him unless hes tge omky doctor available.

Dr. Smardon is AWFUL. He has a terrible attitude, and called me names when I asked for a dermatologist referral. Don't go here, go to a REAL doctor. Disgraceful. That said, the receptionist is nice, someone save her.

I would not recommend Dr. Smardon. I had gone in to get my testosterone levels tested and get a requisition. He asked me what symptoms I was experiencing. After telling him, and as most doctors do, he recommended antidepressants. He reluctantly ordered my tests.

After finding out I needed to pay out of pocket for a part of the test, I went back to get a new requisition. This time he made it very hard to simply get the same requisition again but with the addition of writing private pay. I had told him and showed him the email from Lifelabs showing I needed to come back. Not only did he have no idea that's how it worked he also had no idea what SHBG was? Mind boggling for a doctor to not know of such a simple term. Again he chalked my symptoms up to depression.

He had also been wrong about the normal range indicated on the lab results. I had told him several times that it included people of all ages but he said over and over that it was relative to my own age group. I sent an email to Lifelabs and they confirmed the range was from 13-100 years old.

At the end of our exchange he reluctantly gave me my requisition and before quickly leaving the room stated, "I'm busy with medical things, this is more for vanity. "

I have never encountered such a horrible physician. He completely ignored and didn't care for any of my issues. And was completely misinformed about several things. I honestly feel very bad for his patients, I have to wonder how many are getting the wrong treatment.

Please do yourself a favor, walk a few blocks down the street and see a real doctor.

Please don’t go to this doctor. He will check on internet about ypur sign and symptoms. He does not even listen properly.such a waste of time

Was greeted with “I don’t know where all you people are coming from. We’re at capacity” despite the app saying there was an hour wait.

Need a negative number for review after seeing Dr Smardon. I’m sitting in the lobby shaking & having a total meltdown. This man does NOT belong in a healing profession

I needed a re-referral to my neurologist. My GP retired. All excuses why he can’t help me because he doesn’t know me. Computers are for access to medical records. He didn’t even try. Total waste of time.

Lovely receptionist. I walked straight in, the doctor gave me quick and effective service. Asked if I'd like to take a physicians' sample instead of having to fill a prescription for a puffer to get through the smoky air issue (the concern I went in for). I highly recommend this clinic.
