Fairmont Hotel Vancouver

From the very start it was special. You were made to feel special. David, Neil and Debbie the concierge team were outstanding on a level that must be acknowledged. Our stay was five nights, but they made us feel like residents. Assisted by the Hotels two Ambassador dogs with Ellie practicing lounging to very high standard. Everything was effortless and local knowledge was offered instantly to guide you to enjoy every moment of each day. Maps with coffee shop stops (our favourite being Thierry on Alberni Street) and day trips with shuttle services as well. The location is perfect to take in everything that is wrapped around it. We dined out and was taken and collected to our chosen restaurant by the Hotels fabulous chauffeurs Daniel and Patrick. Two words. Stay here.

I have to say that the experience of luxury is leaving the Fairmont hotels. The food at the restaurant is expensive and substandard. The wait at the valet to long and for $60 dollars I should not have to wait half an hour for my car. This hotel charges like the Ritz and Four Season but fails to deliver.

Everything is awesome about this hotel! Housed in a heritage building built in 1939, you get a feeling that you’re staying in luxury European hotel with its fantastic architecture and build quality. Remember it’s an 84 year old building but smell the modernity throughout the hotel both in the common areas and the rooms.

Wonderful and courteous service by anybody and everybody and one person stood out was Diana in the check in counter! She listened and made arrangements suiting completely our taste and requirements! She deserves more than a bravo!

Parking was nearly awesome! One thing if at all is to say about the lack of in-room electronic support with conspicuous absence of USB ports though there were innumerable power sockets. In the modern days, USB ports are like oxygen for all your devices and hopefully a redesign will take care of it soon.

Otherwise, it was an awesome and memorable stay! Everything was close by including the waterfront, Canada Place, Stanley Park, seaplane port and all other points of interest and needs! Would stay again. Highly recommended.

I believe he is new to the position.but Fairmont has a gem. That level of customer service and extra attention has my recommendation of the hotel to family, friends and colleagues for years to come.

Where ye older days meet the modern days. A hint of luxury without being snobby or arrogant. Great location for all downtown sites and activities. Rooms, food, and services.all world class

Ehh, this hotel was so underwhelming. Perhaps they are just riding the fairmont wave, but I definitely wouldn't stay here again. Yes, it is rustic and charming, but that only takes you so far. The lack of temperature control in the rooms, broken ice machine, multiple elevators seem to be out of service leading to very long wait times and then being extremely cramped with 8 or 10 people jamming themselves into the elevator, late check in time and early check out time, no washrooms on the main floor (?), ridiculously expensive restaurant, not to mention the cost of the room.i feel like I've had better stays at Holiday Inns. The room was very small and the bathroom too. And not even a mini fridge to store our food because it was jammed with expensive liquors we had no interest in. We were hoping for a more comfortable stay. Great care was put into the design of the floral arrangements.perhaps more care should be spent ensuring basic comforts are up to snuff before worrying about the extras. Just my. 02 =)

First vacation in Vancouver. All the staff on the gold floor were awesome. I want to thank the whole team but especially Yuki for taking the time to book all my activities for the weekend and all his suggestions which were very useful. My room was very clean and so comfortable.

Location is the best thing about this hotel. You have everything you need around you. Close to Robson street

Very very very disappointed! I did not expect this from Fairmont! I actually stayed at fairmont pacific rim last week for my birthday and had a 5 star experience and this week was my husbands birthday so we decided to have a staycation at this hotel instead and I regret every minute of my decision! I am currently in the hotel and I am unable to sleep my neighbours have suite room and they r super duper loud and are having a loud party- after complaining several times to the hotel front desk they do not manage to resolve the noise issue. And it’s 12 AM! You can’t always impress people with free drinks they do need a good night sleep if they have paid to stay in gold room! You just lost a customer for good! Trust me u rather spend slightly more and stay in pacific rim!

What a nice place to stay when you have a stop over. The restaurant and bar was lively, but we were tired so ordered room service: food and drink were very good. Bed was amazingly comfortable. Loved the layout and lighting of the room.

I have enjoyed visiting this Fairmont location for over thirty years. Since the pandemic, I have been reluctant to fly anywhere for a much needed vacation. A few weeks ago - with the pandemic stabilizing a bit - I decided to celebrate my birthday in style. My return to my favourite hotel was long overdue. We had such a brilliant time that I brought my two little boys and nanny back for a second special weekend mere weeks apart. Frankly, I would stay here every weekend if I could.

One of the things that I love most about the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver is how they have embraced its classic elegance and charm. There is no need to change a thing. From the second we stepped into the hotel, we were treated like VIP members. Everyone was so courteous, professional, yet warm and friendly. The front desk is extremely efficient and excel at moving guests through and up to their luxurious rooms quickly.

Alert to the fact that my 6 and 8 year old boys were staying with me, the front desk staff gave them a passport containing a scavenger hunt. When we arrived in our rooms - which are by far the most elegant and spacious of any hotel I have ever stayed in - we were greeted with a birthday card and pastries with balloons on both stays. Further, draped on the generous king sized bed, were two little robes for my boys in addition to the two adult robes hanging in the closet. The energy of the first seconds in our room relayed "welcome back! ". What impresses me most, is that the Fairmont Vancouver treats every one of their guests this way.

The rooms are simply prefect. We had no technical issues. The room temperature is very easy to control. The views from the windows are all interesting. The furniture - including the beds - are elegant yet comfortable. We had one of the best nights sleep in ages on their luxurious beds. If there is anything missing from your room - like a mini fridge - one is promptly brought up by guest services. The housekeeping staff are world class. Friendly, thorough, and incredibly hard working. The rooms are kept very clean and sanitized making anyone nervous about Covid at ease.

If I were to be critical of anything, it would be the room service menu. Some of the portion sizes are even small for myself - I seldom have a big appetite. The cupcakes on the breakfast menu were about 3cm in diameter. For the amount they cost, there should either be more of them or made bigger. I would also suggest a few more appetizers added to the late menu specifically for cravings past dinner time.

The amenities are excellent. The hotel pool is the most elegant pool around. Encased in glass walls, the water is always the perfect temperature. While the hotel is extremely family friendly, a giant water slide would frankly detract from the tranquil setting. There is a well equipped fitness room that we did not get a chance to explore. I understand the hotel also has a well reviewed spa.

Some tips for guests who have not yet had the pleasure of staying here:
1) Valet is worth it. For $75 per 24 hours, you can get your car as many times as you want and not have to endure the frustration of finding parking in downtown Vancouver.
2) The hotel restaurant: Notch8 is often busy so reservations are a great idea. When one checks in to the hotel, they receive two complimentary drink tickets to the restaurant each - a very nice touch.
3) The concierge service is excellent. If one needs information on downtown events or reservations at Notch8 or another near by venue, the concierge staff are all more than happy to help.
4) If there is nothing enticing or affordable on the in-room dining menu, food delivery services such as "Skip the Dishes" are very handy services to use.
5). If you are with young children, or are a big kid yourself, make sure to inquire about the scavenger hunt at check-in. It is worth the fun and, best of all, it is free and there is a prize at the end.
6) Make a point of touring around the hotel. The interior design is incredible.

One of the most well kept Fairmont properties that I have had the privilege of staying with. Service was impeccable, the concierge shined really bright and made the entire experience of being in another country feel like home. The restaurant in the hotel that's great, well stocked and capable of making just about any drink you can imagine. Room service was quick and polite with no delay. Absolutely nothing bad to say about this place. Pool could use a little renovation and maintenance though, and you get the feeling that they might not know about it.

Staff is rude, received better treatment at other Fairmont hotels. Would say this is the worst service I’ve gotten from staff at a Fairmont. Never gonna recommend this hotel to friends

We love this hotel. Staff are great, it is stunning inside, the lounge and food are top notch and you can't be the location.

When you don't have time to go to Scandinavian Spa, PRAISE God this is closer! They got everything you need for Hydrotherapy, wish it was bigger to fit more people in the sauna! Lavender cool face clothes is unique there! The Modern feel! Just bought their crystal water bottle, which my son keeps stealing from me- now I know what to get him for Christmas!

The rooms are very small. The room beside had people screaming all night. The pool was extremely cold.

The Whistler one is 1000x better.

Terrific hotel. So helpful! We needed Covid tests before re-entering US and they were being done at the hotel. Although all appointment times were filled, hotel concierge assisted us in getting them done anyway.

Nicely remodeled but $259 plus $42 for parking is a joke. We only stayed there because friends had booked but there are better places at better prices in the same area. Accessing the hotel entrance was a traffic nightmare.

I’ve been getting charges in my credit card for more than $500USD from this hotel since I left, every time I call to complain I get another charge! The staff is not friendly or helpful. Such an experience!

Staff is rude. Bathroom tub is old with crack. Not even have A/C available with my room temp is 26 degree in the night time.

Really enjoyed our stay, the hotel was beautiful and full of luxury and character. Just what we needed at the end of an RV trip. The prime rib served at Notch 8 was very very good, incredibly tender. Staff all very professional and friendly. The pool was pretty decent too. Did have a few issues with the room air con, room got a bit warm so we just opened the window a bit which was fine. A very lovely hotel and would definitely stay again.

Best and worst hotel ever, especially the discrimination from the older staff if your 30 or younger good luck getting good service or even being key into the hotel

No hot tub even though was told by the phone line to book that there was. Parking is cheaper if you don't do it with the hotel IF you plan to not drive your car around during your stay.

It's local. It's beautiful. It's professional and well put together. Enjoyed my stay overall.

Just stayed here for 4 nights in rooms 485 & 487. The room was good, except the tubs for both rooms were chipped and the drain was scary looking. Outsode our room is a white door that was in bad shape as well. When complained, the hotel offered us $50 per room dining credit but everyday we ordered in room breakfast there, they always made some sort of mistake in our order. The last night I was ordering breakfast for the morning the man on the phone taking the order said he wanted to confirm the order because apparently they made a mistake in the last breakfast order and he emphasized on the word apparently to which I replied yes you did make a mistake. My parents went for breakfast the first morning at the Notch 8 restaurant in the hotel and the waitress was rude as soon as my father asked for some warm milk for his cereal. The 3 stars I'm giving is for the location. Would I stay here again? Definitely not. I would suggest trying the other 2 Fairmont hotels here. Maybe they are better (especially in customer service). I was disappointed spending my hard earned dollars here.

Thid was a treat after 5 day hike. Soft beds, coffee in the room is delicious. I did not dine in the restaurant of the hotel but service was good as it should be in 4 star hotel. Customers and staff were required to wear masks which I liked.

This palace of a hotel has the most beautiful night views from the 13th floor that I've ever seen. In the suites they really do think of everything you could possibly need to enjoy a comfortable stay.

(+) Lovely place. Architecture is stunning and location is perfect. I talked to an employee who told me a chilling story about the empty elevator shafts. Definitely was a joy hearing the story. The pool was luke warm and I was able to slide into the water without hesitation.
(-) it's quite expensive and doesn't include simple amenities that other hotels do. There was no free wifi AND basic cable. (Like.some hotels have smart TV's) The berry smoothie wasn't anything special but cost 11 bucks!

Stayed here for about 6 nights. The service was impecable and everyone was friendly. The housekeeping was a bit early for our room, so we had to put the sign up.

The hotel we couldn't fault. We had a corner suite and it was stunning. Lovely and clean (spotless)

They have two lovely dogs in reception which happily lay in their beds and watch the world go by.

Location wise it was amazing, downtown and close to some lovely shopping and places to eat.

A character hotel in the perfect location for enjoying the best of beautiful Vancouver. Easy walk to the waterfront, restaurants and shopping. The gold floor rooms have had a refresh and the staff are particularly attentive. Lovely stay!

Chose the Fairmont as a treat to myself for a staycation, I haven’t even checked out and I’m excited to come back more often! My dog and I are huge fans of Debbie the concierge, such amazing customer service (and dog treats). We feel very welcomed and at home ️

Stayed for 5+ nights, staff were very friendly and responsive and took care of all my needs. Housekeeping were on point every single time.

I got to meet Ella and Elly during my stay. Can confirm they are very cute, friendly, and gentle.

Several issues with my recent stay.
- elevator does not require a key card to enter room floors
- no key card required for gym or pool
- pool water was so murky due to such a large amount of chlorine in the pool
= service and rooms were nice

I just went for coffee and dessert at the restaurant on the lobby level.

Service is excellent, as you would expect from a Fairmont facility, and the dessert I had was totally scrumptious.

Coffee is nice and strong aka cleansing, the pavlova was one of the of the best I've tried.

I was once loyal Fairmont customer. I would stay at a Fairmont property when ever there is one. Now that they have gotten greedy and over charge for covid hotel stays. My days at the Fairmont are done! Taking advantage of people in a pandemic is beyond low!

I had a terrible experience with this hotel and their managers. I was going to travel last summer, borders are closed for the pandemic, they charged me a deposit and they havent given it back to me since now. I thought Fairmont was a honest and professional company. I travel worldwide very frequently and I will never make a reservation with Fairmont.

The Fairmont Vancouver Hotel is my favourite hotel in North America. I was there last Christmas and in early 2018, enjoying the festive and friendly atmosphere of a hotel right on top of its game. I was particularly impressed by all of the service staff on the front desk and the concierge team, who could not have been more helpful or friendly. There is nothing like pulling into Notch 8 after a long flight for a few cocktails to help you wind down.

Came by to the restaurant, notch8, for winter wonderland afternoon tea. Very friendly service and plenty of aweets and savoury items to enjoy. Everything was winter themed so it was very cute. I especially liked one of the savoury that they called presents under the tree which was a smoked salmon and lobster item. It was a bit on the pricey side but the decor was very cozy for the festive season?

I decided to have a staycation with my girlfriend for our anniversary. I'm so glad we chose the Fairmont. All expectations were met, and then some! I could honestly see this becoming a tradition for us.

The hotel oozes old-world charm in the center of the city. It was a lovely stay-cation, being greeted by 2 of the cutest Labradors at check-in. All the shopping is just a block away and we really enjoyed going to the Vancouver Art Gallery next door. The winter risotto at their restaurant Notch8 is FABULOUS!

I try to stop in each time I'm in the area for a champagne cocktail and they make the best here with a pinch of bitters and is it orange zest? Always sit directly at the bar and love to chat with others.yes im the chatty guy at the bar.

Wonderful location, amazing staff, beautiful lobby—especially during the holiday season! When standing outside, just look up and take in the building.takes my breath away every time!

Lovely stay! The location couldn't be better, and the old world charm of the hotel (mixed with all the modern amenities one needs, of course) was an absolute delight. We can't wait to come back.

Loved the comfy beds, friendly service and warm welcome from the concierge pups. We were provided a "Very Important Kids" colouring book for Christmas and we appreciated the extra thought.

Luxury Hotel with a proud history of unbeatable customer service. Hotel restaurant Notch 8, had a focus on local and sustainable food choices. Can cater to a variety of food choices gracefully. Rooms are newly renovated and the main lobby level is stunningly beautiful.

Fairmont hotel Vancouver has a unique location and very friendly and professional staff. We stayed at this hotel to spend a night in downtown. The hotel location is unbeatable. You feel very welcome when you arrive at the front desk, the impeachable room condition and great amenity to use. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone and will definitely come back.

The grand Fairmont Hotel in Vancouver is a wonderful hotel. Situated downtown but within walking distance of the harbor, FHV is my go to place in Vancouver. The service throughout the hotel is second to none, especially the front office staff and concierge team who are unflaggingly courteous and helpful.

I stayed at the FHV three times during 2018 and am already planning my next visit in 2019. The best!

I'm a Vancouver local, but this is THE place I send out-of-town guests. It's in the perfect location – right downtown and near attractions like the Vancouver Art Gallery, Gastown and Stanley Park. The rooms are beautiful and filled with delightful little luxuries, from the plush linens to the toiletries. And there's a reason they call it "the castle" and it's not just the stunning architecture – the staff here treat you like royalty. This is an original and still a classic.

Beautiful hotel and a great place for an event. I visited for the Little Black Dress Gala and was very impressed by both the venue and staff. I will definitely visit again.

Attending for a conference in the Pacific Ballroom. Very elegant room with lots of decorative detail making for a very nice experience. Excellent location in the heart of downtown Vancouver.

I absolutely loved my stay here. What really made The difference for me was how accommodating the staff was. They were able to quickly address any of my questions or concerns.

I remember I had an issue where I was trying to store some dessert I had brought back and the cleaning staff were able to find a small refrigerator for me to store it in so it wouldn't melt. This is just one of the many interactions I had with them and I was blown away each time of how courteous everyone was. I will definitely come back again.

Had a great visit, and felt cared for. I also loved the location, truly the heart of Vancouver's downtown. The treatment in all my staff encounters was perfect.
