Fairway Market

First time to try this store this weekend. Dropped by because my go-to grocery ran out of stock of a certain item.

Excited to see that there’s an Asian Kitchen for to-go. Ordered sweet & sour pork and chicken with rice for lunch and man, they were sad and terrible. What a letdown.

It's an okay grocer. Value isn't bad, and selection is good. Produce is so, so. Meat selection is top-notch.

I would give 4 or maybe even 5 stars if it weren't for their disgusting pre-made meals. If you're charging 10 bucks then taste the food before putting on the shelves. My pad thai tasted like rotting raisins.

I always like fresh vegetables here. There are a lot of products here that you can’t buy in other stores.

3 piece chinese on rice, order your last item after the add the first 2 items to your plate, make it an egg fu Yung and you will have the most massive amount of food for $13

I was assulted by the Manager (Jeff) when I asked for an advertised price. After assaulting me he then refused to sell me my groceries and banned me for life. The price was posted wrong on some beef jerky. Jeff made a crazy situation out if nothing. Any other store would of just givin the 50¢ off and changed the price instead of assaulting a good customer and losing all there future business. Customer service is apawling! The head manager Graham did nothing to deescalate the situation and is now facing legal problems due to his disregard for his customer's rights and safety.

One star not for the cashier i felt bad for her she did her best. But for the dumb manager that wouldn't split my return because it exceeded 40$ from 100$ then refused to split the return tho the full bill was 400+$ had to return for allergies an was going to put the 100$ towards some student books needed. SO FYI CHECK ALLERGIES BEFOR SPENDING MORE THAN 60$ @fairways. Im never shopping here again. I do understand why, but for the way i was looked at an treated not fair.

Is very good, fast and friendly service, you will find an Asian buffet take out in a variety of choices and excellent service from the front desk.

Food there is quite nice and decent price! If you add three items plus rice it costs 12.99$ which is good price. I also had chicken and macaroni for $7 which is a good price too. Their bubble tea is not good, cheap but I would prefer to go and get a fresh one. Its a good place for your lunch if you are in hurry!

This is the best Fairway in Island. Big and always in store good discounts specially in meat section. Various kind of fresh fish and other meats are always available.
The bakery section is good but not the best thu.

10/10 this store is the best. They have an amazing selection of products you can't get anywhere else in the city. The international sections are amazing. Staff is great. Super reasonable prices. Best grocery store in town!

Out of all the fairways on the area, this one has the most comprehensive selection of food to go and grocery items. However their POS machine seems to malfunction more often resulting in longer than expected line ups at times

Good selectoin of Chinese food ingredients. Not soo much Japnese, more so korean.
Produce was fairley decent, took a pass on the garlic. Meat section was large and diverse. Fish section looked fresh, lots of west coast offerings. The Asian/Chinese food hot take out showed lots of interest from the appearance of the line.
I found the price tags and labeling a bit confusing at times, hard to understand the discount sale pricing.

A nice clean store with some great bakery items. I find it affordable and there seems to be something for everyone as far as variety goes.

Fairways is a little bit more expensive and there no points collection to save on products in the future. But that's ok if your in a rush and need stuff without being to far away.

Sometimes their items are expired make sure to check before buying especially if they are " on sale" and there security follows people around and threatens people who aren't even stealing. I witnessed somebody get knocked out and a group of security guards and manager leaving the victim on the ground laying unconscious in the middle of the parking lot and they recovered nothing from his person

Its close to home, only a block away. ALL of the staff are so helpful! Some of the older shelf stockers have limited English, but they still help you out and if they can't they bring someone to you that can. I can get everything I need there, some things I cant get anywhere else. I love this place, there always serms to be a sale on.

Classic Bait & Switch
Jan. 7/21 about 5 pm at the Fairway Market 2635 Quadra St, Victoria, BC, V8T 4E3 they had pork sirloin roast priced at 3.49 lb.
They did not have the advertised price of 3.00 lb.
Nor would they allow me to purchase the roast at the advertised price of 3.00 lb. The sale was advertised for Jan. 1st to Jan. 7/21. I'm reporting this to the Competition Bureau. On a star scale of one to five this place is a minus five.

In my opinion the best grocery store in Victoria! This location specifically has the best selection, prices, and quality.

Good selection although sometimes rather pricey. Good hot to-go selection and good sushi. Great one stop shop for lunch with a salad bar, however due to covid the salad bar has been adjusted to a behind the counter where they make it for you.great vegetable and fruit selection as well. They get really good mandarin oranges here which are surprisingly difficult to get in this city.

A little disappointed with the vegan-gluten free option. The layout is a little challenging when busy, especially getting to produce section. Friendly staff.

We were looking for specialty fish and found it there. The frozen section has lots of not often seen in Victoria choices.

Best Asian food selection in town. Fresh Asian vegetables that are hard to find as well as imported goods. They have all the standard fair as well.

Solid Asian food selection with good quality ready to eat meals and snacks. Meat dept is passable but nothing special price or quality wise. The produce variety is above average but as with most Asian markets should be used within a few days. Fruit and veggies are generally ripe and flavorful but being picked later means shorter shelf lives.

I felt as if I was being racially profiled as I was doing some simple shopping I did not enjoy my experience there

Great deals on lots of items. One of the only places you can get a varied selection of Asian snacks as well.

A wide range of products in all areas, with good prices.

This location has a good deli in it, and most everything you would expect to find in a grocery store. There is a shift towards Asian items, especially in the frozen food section, but I did not see that taking away from other items - it was actually more of an expansion of dishes and ingredients to try.

Staff were working to keep the shelves fully stocked, so it seems that fresh items do stay fresh and available. The check outs were moving fairly quickly, I didn't wait long to go though, even with a good sized order.

I have shopped at this fairways for over 7 years. I'm Disgusted by the way I was stopped by a plain clothed security guard during the height of the covid 19 pandemic. He detained me based on "an employee thought he saw something in the meat dept. " I was made to stand in one spot for over 5 minutes, crowds of customers going back and forth in front of me and I was not allowed to move until he figured out what was going on. Then he told me if I didn't want to stand there I could leave the store without my groceries. I demanded several times for a reason, and since they didn't have one, they finally let me go. I finished my shopping and didn't go back for a month. I have never been so publicly humiliated in my life. SHAME on them, and SHAME ON MANAGEMENT FOR NOT RETURNING MY CALL.

This place is great! I heard so many bad things about this place when I moved to Victoria and it's a hidden gem. This store has everything! Every time we need a speciality ingredient of some kind and strike out at the big chains we end up here!

This used to be the gross Fairway, but they cleaned it up. Best selection of any local Fairway, although it often gets uncomfortably crowded. Often I'm happy to go the extra distance to the Shelbourne Fairway, just to avoid the crowds.
