Famoso Neapolitan Pizzeria

4 pizzas were ready for pickup at requested time of 1130 am. Everyone at the office said pizza tasted good. 15 Napoleon Hawaiian, pepperoni, bbq chicken, Margherita all good. Staff even helped me carry the pizzas to my parked car in front of restaurant on Commercial Drive, hopping over the snow filled walk and street.

This is a mandatory stop every time I come to Vancouver!
The Quattro Formaggi is amazing! And I normally go for tomatoe based pizzas!
The fire-roasted tomatoe bisque is fantastic!

I'd call him a jack of all trades but from now on that term should be called James. Host with the most and bartender extrodinere James made my wife and I feel welcome and convinced us to come back and try the food, as we had only stopped in for a drink while waiting for a reservation at another pizza restaurant. We Will be back.

Really sad to see how downhill this place went. The food was decent enough, passable at best. But it was very apparent the place has lost its buzz. No one seemed happy to be there, place was empty (prime time on a Saturday night), maybe they’re struggling to find staff post Covid, but I’ll stick to takeout If we ever decide to go here again - dining in was depressing.

There is no better pizza. You can try anywhere, ok, but Famoso has the best Margherita. Tasteful cheese, pure tomato sauce.

It was my first time. I was with a group of friends and we ordered our individual preferences. Awesome! And service was great too.

I have gone to this location a few times since it opened. The last two incidences is what I am writing a review for. The restaurant itself is clean. The food is sub par, pizza sauce on the salty side, pasta really no flavour, salad not a very good presentation. Service both times was horrible. I got my pasta 10 minutes before my husband got his pizza. We didn't even eat together. There was two occasions where we had to get up and go inside to motion for service. It was not busy inside. Only positive was the quality and price of the very berry mojitos!

The other visit, we left after not being served for 15 minutes. We were trying to feed our athlete children after a soccer game, and we were a big table that was ready to spend. Again, was not busy at all.

I think this restaurant is in a difficult location. There is so many great authentic Italian restaurants nearby with great service and reputation.

I wish them well but I will not be visiting again.

We ordered off the Happy Hour menu and it was fast and delicious. Friendly helpful staff. This is probably my 3rd or 4th time at Famoso.

Great and very reasonably priced Italian restaurant chain offering Neapolitan Pizzas, Pastas and Sandwiches. Kids friendly menu and treats makes it a great choice for families looking to grab a bite near Commercial Dr area.

My new favorite place for Italian food. Service is good and not overbearing. Very comfortable atmosphere. Their meatballs are the best.

Had a great experience! Fantastic pizza, prosciutto balls, ceasar salad. The service was great and the new look of the restaurant is much better. I highly recommend Famoso for the really flavourful foods and great people.

Had lunch today for 3. We all ordered lunch special and VERY SATISFIED! Delicious pizza and salad. Most Welcoming and attentive server too!

I live in this neighbourhood and wanted to try their pizza and ordered Tuscan forno chicken pizza for take out, since I was not dressed for dinner the staff gave me weird looks as if I couldn’t afford to buy a pizza also when the pizza was ready the sever asked me twice if I have paid for it (in a demeaning way, when I already had paid the amount while ordering it to the manager). It was very embarrassing even after paying for the pizza with tip this is what I faced.
Second thing when I came home to eat the pizza, it was so poorly made, the sauce was just in the middle, barely any chicken pieces or artichoke pieces.
Will never visit this place again.waste of money, time and judgemental place.

First time trying this location in our neighborhood. Got take out for Valentine's Day. Everything was good flavor except the Artichoke Dip had a huge piece of soft plastic like a bag cooked into it. Didn't realize until half way through when we discovered it and pulled it out. Very turned off by this so we had to toss it and unfortunately will not re-visit.

It used to be way better a year ago, I asked for well done pizza like I use to and it came doughy!
I asked if they could put it back and they said no, lol

Dirty table, dirty bathroom, food took a while to arrive and apart from that the food was cold. I just lost 100 dollars

Best Prosciutto & Arugula pizza. For some reason you don't find the same quality of pizza in other Famoso places closest to us. So we have to dry a little further but worth the drive in order to enjoy our pizza

Unfortunately awful cooks, this place used to be good. Now they will serve you a pizza with fully raw dough.

Great dinner spot with delicious comfort food! The cauliflower artichoke dip is my favourite appetizer, and the garlic flatbread for dipping is so tasty. Their pizzas are also unique and so yummy as well, perfect for sharing.

Server ignored us for a lot long while until I went to get him. Pizza arrived without any toppings. Good food, poor service.

Had a terrible experience. I am great lover of Famous Pizzeria. I had always good experience but unfortunately, yesterday, 6th of September, 2021, I had a terrible experience with service as well as food. Pizza was burned and the guy who did service was totally disappointed. I am also a in food industry that’s why I feel really bad about the service. Other location where ever I had so far was very nice experience but this location staffs service is awful.we order pizza and cheese cake and didn’t serve any spoon for cheese cake. We had with fork. Also the guy was not any cheerfulness. As the way he served, we feel like he wants us to eat and go fast and don’t ever come again kind of …. Well, I still love famous and I would love to go again but not this location. Thank you.

The worst pizza I’ve ever had, hardly any cheese, raw onions and peppers. Honestly not worth the money and will not be going back, also had to wait an extra 15 minutes

We always have a good experience at Famoso. The pizza is always spot on, the servers are attentive, there is a good rotation of beers and the atmosphere, including the music, is just right.

I brought my 3 year old son here on Tuesday evening to get out of the heat. Everyone else had the same idea!

Despite there only being 2 floor staff members they served everyone in a happy and timely fashion. Everything was great and I was impressed by their composure under pressure!

Great food and great service! Their Hapoy Hour menu is amazing and had a lot of options. The pizza and pasta tasted so delicious. We had quattro formaggi pizza and fettuccine alfredo pasta.

Super fast service. Lovely staff and food. I really enjoyed their tiramisu and normally I don't order salads but their Ceasars salad was delicious

Come here when I crave simple fresh pasta and don't want to spend $30 for a plate.
My pickup order was 8 min late and the manager apologized with a gift card and a drink.awesome service and food.

Been coming here for years, and it has never disappointed me. Went in recently once restrictions lifted, and the food and service was still spot on. Keep up the great work!

The food was amazing the server was the best customer service experience I've ever experienced she went more than above and beyond to make our fist experience great my friend Puja and I enjoyed our experience there. We will definitely make this out new favorite place to go

It was amazing the food was so good like so so good amazing. Service was sweet and one of the waitress working was so hot. I so recommend this pizza to all who really like a good pizza.

Great Italian style pizza. Thin crust - often
too floppy for me. But the taste is great. Better than any other pizza I've had for a while: Supra Sotto, Forchetta, Rolling Dough.

Had a prawn, a pepperoni mushroom, and a Hawaiian pizza.

This and Pizza Barbarella are my favorite pizza restaurants in the city. Pizza is better than Marcello and Sopra Sotto down the street.
In order of preference from the ones we ordered:
1) Pepperoni and mushroom
2) Prawn Pesto
3) Capicola Ham + Pineapple (note this one is a little spicy which was unexpected)

Wonderful from start to finish. We were greeted as soon as we walked in to be seated. They have great patio seating and plenty of it. Covid19 health and safety practices in place and a 1hour dining time limit is enforced.
The food came out fast and hot the presentation was appealing and the taste was excellent. Fresh is key. The sauce and cheese to the meat and the bread - the bread was light and crisp. The salad was well balanced with enough dressing. It was a fantastic dinning experience overall. Thanks for a great Sunday meal!

Don't go here. The worst service I've had in a long tim and the worst food I've had in my life. Service was rude and frantic. Kitchen staff appeared completely incompetent (reading recipe card as if first time every preparing the food). Food took 1hr 15min and the got one dinner entree wrong! Both entrees were cold and inedible due to salt; no exaggeration. Literally the only food I have thrown away in my life. Stay away from this place!

Service here was slow and the food was not good. I had the chicken parm though edible, there wasn't any flavour and the salad that came with it (Naples salad) i think, was absolutely disgusting.

Everything was mediocre, from service, speed and quality of the food. Nothing really special to say about this place.

Ordered the pesto chicken pizza for delivery. Good amount of toppings but it was so salty it was inedible. The pesto was the problem, it was overwhelming. Shame because they aren’t stingy with the chicken or cheese & it’s not cheap, but the salt ruined it completely

Spent a few hours at Famoso and was extremely happy with the food and our server. James was amazing. Very kind and attentive even though the restaurant was packed. He wore gloves and a mask the entire time. I would definitely recommend this place.

Went here for lunch and had the lunch special. You get a personal size pizza and the choice of soup or salad. I got the salad, which was good, but my friend got the soup, and I would get that next time. Server messed up our bills, but he fixed them quickly and without fuss. You can actually see them cook the pizzas, which adds a nice touch!

I have been there for 2nd time. They were wellcoming and warm to costumers. The waitress put a lot of time to help me choose the best ingredients to my desire. I loved the pizza and go there defenitely.

The lunch special (Sweet BBQ Chicken pizza with Tomato Bisque) was delicious! The Bisque was amazing and the pizza was very fresh and tasty. Paired my brunch with a Grapefruit Raddler, would recommend.

Really disappointed with the quality of the food from this location. I know it was delivery but it looked like garbage - even worse than the picture which was after I picked the peppers off (which I asked them to hold). They could not have cared less what the finished product looked like. They literally chopped one chorizo into four pieces and put one on each slice. There was way too much oil, it soaked through the paper and into the box, so greasy! I also ordered Caesar salad, the dressing tasted off from other times I've had it. The tiramisu was amazing though.

Lasagna and pizza are fantastic - the oven and rustic finish is the charm - wait is slightly long but worth it.

Pretty awful - pizza was dry and tired; fried egg on top was overcooked to a degree that is hard to achieve. The 2nd star is for the kids menu which was fairly decent. Have had better meals here.

This used to be our go-to family pizza place. Unfortunately it has gone seriously downhill and i would be sad for any other families to waste their money here on substandard food, mediocre and inefficient waitstaff.there are lots of other neighbourhood options including niccli and via tevere.we wont be back.

Poor service. Took easily 50 minutes to serve the food then got the order wrong. We appreciate the free dessert but they should definitely improve their service. Food was good! Incorrect order but good!

Went here with my family for a late lunch. The food was good but when I got the bill, saw I was charged an extra 2$ for a fancier salad. I had ordered the salad that came with the pizza (lunch special). The prices of the kids’ meals were also more expensive on the bill than what we saw on the paper menu. The waitress did remove the 2$ salad fee. I didn’t want to make a big deal about the kids’ menus but we were charged about 1$ more for each one ($9.50 vs $8.65 quoted on the menu). Maybe the paper menu doesn’t match the computer for prices? ! *If I go back will be sure to check the bill carefully.

Great place to eat. Went with the family, had a bit of a mishap on the dining experience. But the customer service to handle it was phenomenal. Thank you to Brett and the team for going above and beyond. Definitely would go back.

They got be kidding me. After letting me waiting for 1 hour in their store they give me the wrong order! Cashier took customer’s money and credit card paid their bills and went directly to the kitchen start cooking without washing his hand.errr

2 of the 3 of us liked our pizza. The one whom didnt sent it back without issue. We also ordered a garlic bread that tasted a little freezer burnt, again returned without issue. All in all service was good and attentive and 2 of 3 pizzas were great.

The pizza are so good! We tried a very unconventional thai pizza, it was amazing. They have good wine selection too. The ambiance is very cozy and service is fast.

This place is usually great. They have a a massive staff turnover and it shows. We ordered 2 half orders with 2 salads. About 10 minutes later we were informed that we could ot order half orders. 2 minutes later our half orders arrived. They did not know how to price this so they gave us a $3.00 discount that worked out to be about $20.00 for each plate. They are horribly understaffed and their new staff is not equipped to handle volume or any differences a customer may want. Stay away until they fix their issues.

Our saturday night table for 5 took 30 mins to clear because it was literally one dish off the table at a time, food took another 30 mins to get prepared, and my friends' alfredo pasta was way too salty (and I don't shy away for salting my food). I highly doubt freshly prepared pizza takes 30 min, unless its frozen. The overly salted pasta with just white sauce had no protein and I know they don't make panna cotta by the order.

On the other hand, our server was good, who was a different person than who cleared our table, the pizza was good, the panna cotta was also good but I was already off put by the way they cleared the table and then the ridiculous preparation time that I won't go back.

It would be a one star but I am giving another star to the server.

Thr flavors are nice and simple. Nothing overly complicated. The sauce in the pizza has a light sweetness that I did not think I would like.

The good part also includes the food coming out in a decent amount of time. They even give a little bit of dough for the kids to play with. That was awesome!

The bad. I personally requested cold beer and got slightly cool beer. Almost as if it was in the fridge for an hour only. The service is slow and getting cutlery is a challenge. Kinda surprising when the hot food is on the table and there is no cutlery. We requested a set but it was faster to just get up and get it before the food gets cold. Getting refreshments quickly for any of us.well.you can guess where this went. By the end of it we were glad we got water.

Honestly, I want to return but I think I am going to have to eat a small snack beforehand so I am not waiting for service for anything.

We were going to order dessert but did not want to wait until tomorrow to eat it.
