Famous Chicken

It's one of those obscure little holes-in-wall that often only the locals know about. But, if you love southern fried chicken and especially the original KFC recipe (less grease, more taste!), this is the place to go. It's small, can be crowded, especially Toonie Tuesdays, and not the most elegant atmosphere, but it's finger-lickin-good delicious. You won't be disappointed.

The chicken pieces are better than the chicken strips. I would pass on the gravy, fries and waffle fries in the future

It seems they use very fresh oil. Chicken was extra crispy and crunchy and very tasty.

No longer called Lee's Famous Chicken I have to say I was worried at first if the quality was as good as Lee's. I'm happy to say that yes it is! Portions are perfect & chicken is very tasty. But most importantly, the gravy is awesome! Church's was my goto before its new ownership change & since then due to them ruining what was great, I have been looking for a good fried chicken joint to replace my Church's cravings. Famous chicken is the one!

After many years of going to Lee's chicken Abbotsford and thoroughly enjoying the large crispy delicious pieces of chicken they are famous for every time, we were extremely dissatisfied with what we purchased for dinner yesterday. The pieces were tiny, flavorless and all fit into one single small box! We used to buy the exact same amount of chicken pieces and they would barely fit into two boxes. The price has gone up drastically and the quality has gone down the toilet. The last time we were there was May 23,2022. The chicken was excellent, but the side dishes had shrunk to very tiny portions. Now the chicken has also shrunk. We will not be returning to this location ever.

The size of the chicken pieces was ridiculous. I didn't know chickens grew that small. It obvious the new owners are cutting corners to try to make more money. The taste, or lack thereof was the other thing of note. With the previous owners the quality was always there. These new folks have ruined a great thing. Shame on them.

The first time I had this food I thought it was decent - you get what you pay for. The second time, I was extremely sick for several hours after eating the chicken. Would not go again.

Have driven by many times since we moved here in August. I finally dropped in yesterday!
Tuesday is their 2 piece special day, dark meat but I didn’t have the special as I like white meat, I love fried chicken and said I would splurge and have some fried chicken and poutine, have you ever wished you didn’t waste your calories. The chicken was dry, fries are fries but the gravy wasn’t tasty or hot. I did pay $15plus for this two pieces of chicken and poutine without a drink! Didn’t take a photo!
I will try the restaurant out another time, if I enjoy I will certainly let you know!

Best fried chicken in Abby in my honest opinion. I tend to get take out here once a week. Update: still great years later keep coming back. Bravo.

You cant beat the value of their Tuesday special. Absolutely worth checking out. Be careful of peak times, you might be waiting a long time.

Pretty dry and flavorless. It's pretty hard to f' up fried chicken, but they did.they did. Fantastic gravy.

Stopped by today and met the most lovely woman that runs this place. Working all by herself! She had the biggest smile and was super kind and even gave us a free extra piece of chicken<3 she was super sweet and so glad I stopped by because the gravy is amazing! As well as the sweetly and spicy chicken.

Was pleasantly surprised with how delicious the chicken was here, yum! Better than the other chain restaurant fried chicken like popeyes or kfc.

The lady that works there is super friendly the food is always hot and fresh I enjoy stopping here every time I can there's a spicy Korean chicken is my favorite
There spicy chicken is really good really good the potato wedges are always smoking on and they make them spicy on request

It's reasonably priced on Tuesday but a 7 piece meal with fries and gravy for just under $30 on another night is a little much.

Man this place is awesome! The chicken is so juicy and fresh. The fries are crispy crinkle cut. Maybe the best fries I've had at a fast food joint. The gravy is delicious. No questions about it this is way better than KFC or popeyes. Adorable little hard working lady makes your food for you and you can tell she tries hard to make you enjoy your experience.

I have been a long time customer and I can without a doubt say that this is the best chicken place in abby. The owners are always super nice and polite and its a great place to go for a quick bite to eat. Highly recommend the chicken sandwich

I haven't tried everything from here. But as far as the original recipe fried chicken, gravy, and fries. Truly delicious!

Fries always have a good crisp, gravy is amazing.if you like KFC gravy, this is it's better tasting sibling.
Chicken is fresh and not *double fried* or left in a heater all day.
The staff is also incredibly friendly. Definitly worth the money imho.

You want great food that is really hot! Absolutely delicious and delivered by skip the dishes you have to order from here. Their gravy is to die for with their fries and their chicken mmmmmmm

Ordered a 2pce dinner for over $10 bucks and ine of the pieces was cold and tasted terrible as if it were days old.and needless to say was sick all night long.

My favourite place for chicken when I come visit. You can get crispy or regular chicken. Fries are crispy and the gravy is very tasty.

You can get your chicken as a sandwich as well.

You can eat in or take away.

The chicken is always the same. Which is great! The owners are friendly.some of the customers no so friendly to the staff, to the point I had to address the bad behavior.

Worst place to get fried chicken, few time I got chicken from them, every time I buy hopping this time it will be different (better) and nothing has changed, same old chicken! As I says older than a fossil, waste of money. I think they just make it in certain time just throw it in the warmer forever and that’s it. Never recommend this place to anyone, but you can always try by yourself.

Chicken flavor is out of this world!
The chicken is very addictive! You want to come back for more. I even micro waved it the next day when I order take out and I was amazed at the consistency of the same flavor and crispiness.

One of the better chicken places, prices are really good, staff seems to want to help you have your order right and quickly for fried chicken this is one of only two places I go!

Been my favourite fried chicken place since I was a kid. Love their Spicy chicken, it's to die for. Glad they don't deliver, I'd order it way too much lol.

Their chicken is fantastic.their gravy is amazing.the onion nuggets are yummy.as long as the place is open i wont ever eat at any other chicken place!

Tonight waited 20 min cause it was busy. Then they started handing out meals to people who came after me. I said excuse me but I was here before these people. Brat of a son tells me he's too busy to bother looking for my order. Parents standing behind him said nothing. Rudest service from anywhere I've ever eaten. Would never go back

I go here every week the chicken is cooked fresh to order.it's the best fried chicken you will get in abbotsford better then KFC and Mary browns.they recently changed owners very nice ladies the chicken boxes they come in need to be better they are cheap and RIP from moisture

New owners are very nice! The chicken is great when it's hot. And is still ok when it's cold, unlike some chicken places when chicken gets cold it's doesn't taste good.

Sometimes the chicken is very dry and hard to eat if by new people's hand. That might also because of these chicken has been there for some days.

Lee's Chicken Abbotsford. The absolute most appalling & rudest customer service experience I've ever had. Horrible! Specifically speaking of the woman that is always running the counter and has quite the reputation on Social Media I now see.

I ordered a crispy chicken breast burger. She gave me a plain chicken burger. Like a round processed chicken burger, not chicken breast, no crispy batter. I nicely told her that a mistake was made, and that I ordered that crispy chicken breast burger, pointing to the picture on the wall. She said "no, you just said chicken burger, I gave you chicken burger " I disagreed, and told her I'd never order that, I always get crispy chicken BREAST burgers. Only eat white meat. I then offered to pay the difference if she undercharged me. Then she started yelling at me and saying I was lying. I was shocked. Once again, I asked for what I ordered. Said I'd wait. She went off on me! YELLING that she's a business, that she already cooked me a chicken burger. What is she supposed to do with the one she incorrectly made. She then told me I'd have to pay for the full amount of the crispy chicken breast burger if I wanted it. I was appaled at the way she was treating me! I told her she needs to stop yelling at me and practice better customer service, that good customer service is key to a successful business, and asked for my money back. She opened the till & threw it on the counter at me told me to "get out". Yup. All that over one chicken burger. There was a guy behind me who walked out with me. Shaking his head! Never again!

It may be a very old building and not much has been done to improve the aesthetics of the place but who cares.it is very conveniently located close a lot of businesses, cafes, university and many others. The food tastes pretty good and is very consistent. It is a great place for a quick bite, lunch or full family sized meals.

A hole-in-the wall restaurant where you can get a quick bite to satisfy your deep fried chicken craving. Honestly I was impressed with how crispy and juicy the chicken pieces were, especially since I was having a hard time finding a decent fried chicken place around the area!
