Fat Boy Kitchen deserves a solid 5-star rating! They serve generous portions, have friendly and attentive staff, and offer an authentic Hong Kong Cafe experience. The laksa is a must-try – you won't be disappointed!

My stars don't add up because my final rating was based on the fact that they don't use real cutlery at all! Instead it's all disposable cutlery and chopsticks, which I find unacceptable. Almost gave it a 1 star for this reason to be honest. To my recollection I've never seen any restaurant here do this. To add insult upon injury they put up a sign saying to reduce waste by not requesting cutlery unless you need it. What? ! Are we supposed to bring our own?

It's easy to get a parking lot outside even on Sunday. The food portion is big enough for 2 adults.that is why it is named as Fat boy.

Excellent food. Generous portions. Friendly and pleasant service. BUT I hated the plastic cutlery and the extra charge for a takeaway container.

Attentive Service. I've been here daily in Late 2021 unless I stopped working around that area.

Laska & Satay Noodles were my favourite. When you do find a mistake. They offer to correct it but I just insisted to improve their product without taking a replacement/refund.

Gold star to the chef at the grill. The meats here are always executed to technical perfection: juicy and tender with crispy but not greasy skin.

Given this is a small restaurant with only 9 tables, I'm impressed by the diversity and quality of the food. Furthermore impressed that most meals are at the $10 and $15 price points.

Beef and mushroom sandwich: Was eclipsed by the fries, which were prepared my favourite way, with batter and crispy. The sandwich was nice too, lots of beef, tender and cooked medium rare the way I like. Only complaint was that there was some cartilage in the meat, which I had to cut out.

Panko-fried pork chops: Again, lots of meat, two chops, which were tender, juicy, and just gently seasoned, the way I like.

Chicken rice noodle soup had a perfectly grilled boneless chicken thigh with crispy skin.

Mixed grill: All meats grilled to textural perfection. Enough food for 2 people. Onion gravy good with fries.

Service excellent, attentive, friendly, with a personal touch.

The portion is big and the crispy bun is a must-try item. Laksa is quite good and could be even better if the coconut flavor is stronger. The portion of pork chop with rice is HUGE and good for sharing. Service is excellent and the owner may walk around and check with each customer on seeking their feedback during the off-peak session. Definitely one of the best value for money restaurant in town.

I got there at 5: 30 pm, but they were already closed. It’s unfortunate that they close so early, otherwise I wanted to try this place out so much.

Basic diner style breakfast available at a very reasonable price. The soups are also really tasty and there is no slacking on the noodles or the portion. You can call ahead to put your name on the list as there is limited seating and can be a wait.

I absolutely loved it here! The service was great as soon as I walked through the door. I also did not expect the portions to be THAT BIG! I WAS SO AMAZED! Big portions even after covid happened, unbelievable!

The food brought tears to my eyes because it tasted SO GOOD️️

Small cozy place to dine, good delicious foods for a reasonable price. Service is friendly and warm. One thing needs improvement is the booth seat, it sinks down too much and uncomfortable.

I usually don't want to post this as I supported this place prior to the name change and in fact from the 1990s when my parents used to come here after church services on Sundays for lunch.

However, the last time I came, at least one waitresses seems to avoid eye contact when passing me and also didn't thank me as I paid and left the store.

The food is decent but the lack of customer care might make me have second thoughts of whether I want to come back even know I've been supporting this restaurant for a long time.

Ordered Laksa noodle with chicken - soup is rich but noodle is not traditional Laksa noodle - a bit disappointed. Deep fried chicken is over cooked, too dry. Staff is friend and attentive, seats comfortable

Checked out Fat Boy Kitchen for lunch on a busy Friday. We had to wait about 15 minutes for a table to open up.

We tried:
- Two luncheon meat slices with two eggs (A4) ($9.50) - my friend added a mini noodle soup ($3.00) along with a HK style milk tea ($1.00). Was told the broth was bland, milk tea wasn't flavourful enough and the spam slices were thinner than other HK spots in town. This coming from a HK cafe lover.
- Beef minute steak with two eggs (A7) ($12.50) - my other bud had similar comments about the mini noodle soup but seemed to at least enjoy his steak.
- Singaporean laksa chicken in noodle soup ($14.50) - broth lacked depth and complexity. Calling it a Singaporean style laksa is misleading.

Don't understand the hype with FBK. Average portions, mediocre flavours. 2.5 stars.

5 star because every thing comes together for a good experience. I ordered the Satay Beef soup and a side of fries. The soup was huge! Standard flavour and quality. The were also a huge portion. The fries could've been crispier too, a bit soft for my taste. You might have to wait to get a table.

- Great service and staff
- Huge portions
- Decent food

I came in hangry and left angry.

We got the Satay Beef in Noodle Soup Combo, Creamy Fish Filet with Spaghetti, and the Golden Pork Cutlet with Rice.

We were given plastic cutlery sets that came in prepackaged sets inside a plastic bag, which is very environmentally harmful (please read the room re: climate change, not sure how this is in any way justifiable especially for a dine-in experience). The Iced Milk Tea I received was watery. The straw that was given to me was at least made of paper, but it’s not like that does anything to offset the environmental harm of all the plastic cutlery.

The Satay Beef Noodle arrived first in a large bowl, and consisted of 60% bland soup, 30% mushy noodles, and 10% Satay Beef, no greens or bean sprouts or any garnish. Very mushy, little beef, bland taste (somehow, even with a Satay sauce). Not worth the $15.50 price tag.

The Golden Pork Cutlet came 5 minutes later, along with two little sauces of mayo and katsu sauce on the plate that were in tiny plastic (again) cups. The cutlet at least was tasty. Our plastic fork became bent at one point because the plastic cutlery simply was not capable of handling a crispy cutlet. We all had a tough time using the cutlery. The spaghetti that came on the side was plain with no seasoning or sauce.

The Fish Filet came 15 minutes later, when we were basically done with the other two meals. Thankfully my group was sharing most of our food, or else someone would’ve been left waiting to eat for 20 minutes. The fish filet was large, but the deep fried batter was very pale, which did not make it very appealing. However, the batter was somehow fried as hard as a rock, which again was tough on the plastic cutlery. There was no seasoning on the fish, and there might’ve been a hint of seasoning in the batter, but I could hardly taste it. We had to wait five minutes for the server to bring us the creamy sauce that came with the dish after serving us the fish. Overall very bland.

Overall it was not a good experience. The food was very disappointing especially after seeing all the great reviews online, and the plastic cutlery, as many have mentioned before, is really off putting. It felt like a waste of my stomach’s space.

Two stars because at least the pork cutlet was good. Also because we bumped into a friend who we complained about the Satay Beef Noodle to, and they informed the owner, who then came over and offered to replace it. Appreciate the sentiment. Hope you can take this feedback to improve.

Price is good at this kh style cafe. I guess that is why it is highly rated. I have been there twice now and the taste of their dishes is really mediocre. But staff is relatively friendly so maybe that and the price is what drives the high ratings.

Great deal, right price and delicious Onion Pork Chop with Rice Combo. Come with a soft drink (Add $1.00 if you want to change with hot drink). It has four pieces big pork chop. High end Hong Kong cafeteria style/taste sauce and mouthwatering presentation.
I tried another combo (Fat Boy Kitchen Mixed Grill with Rice Combo (sauce on bowl, comes with soft drink) [肥仔巨無霸套餐]. I changed rice with Spaghetti. Yummy.
