Excellent fish and chips. Never have been disappointed and I've had the halibut, ling cod, and salmon. Generous portion of fries!

Fish are very fresh and fries are good. However, the fried fish flavours are dull and don't compete well with other fish and chips location in town

Great grilled halibut and chips. Excellent tartar sauce to go with it. This is definitely a family favourite when in Victoria.

Absolutely the best fish and chips I have eaten! The fish (halibut) is done just right. It is cooked but not dried out. The batter is very thin but delicious. The chips are crispy. Portions are large. Will certainly go back.

It was once a pleasure to shop at the store on Arbutus. Not any more. The fish is still fine, but the people behind the counter are not. Helpful? Cheerful? Nope. Instead, they are surly and unfriendly, for no reason. I am not going back.

The fish and chips are so good! They'll fry up cod, salmon, halibut, or sablefish, all of which taste amazing and are served with a hearty portions of fresh fries that are always feel slightly overcooked but still great. They also have other dishes, but I can't try them because that would mean forgoing the fish and chips.

I had the just fish option and considering the flavor, portion size, and price point I can say it's well worth the experience. It was cod and they clearly season their batter which stays crunchy throughout the meal unlike other places where it gets soggy after a while. Also their tartar sauce is delicious. Will be trying more items from here.

The fish is delicious the staff are very polite. Good old fashioned customer service with a wonderful product.

We've always been fans of Victoria's FAS, so it made perfect sense, we continue the tradition in Vancouver, now that we have moved to the North Shore. FAS did not disappoint! We stocked up on FAS sockeye and rockfish filets, then added one healthy cold smoke tuna side as well. The front-of-house staff took time to get us the correct portions, then vacuum seal an extra lot for our freezer. I suspect it won't be long, until we're back at Arbutus to stock up again. A special thanks to the team back in Victoria, (Rose, Dee-Lynn, and Aaron) for taking care of us for many years, and to the plant staff and fishermen/women for the hard work, and long hours bringing it to the shop. I highly recommend a stop at the FAS stores, and food truck, if you're visiting!

Definitely amazing! Ordered all kinds of deep fried fish and literally everything tastes fresh and amazing. Just a note that there is already tartar sauce in there so you don’t really need to order more lol

This place used to be the best place in town for fish n’ chips but a few things have changed for the worse. They no longer have indoor dining. Covid is over now. Bring back the indoor tables. No more excuses! And the batter on the fish is WAY too thick compared to 5 years ago. Back then it was thin, crisp, and perfect. Now it’s thick which acts like a sponge and makes it very greasy. Yuck! They should have stuck to their original recipe. Because of these major issues, my new go-to for fish n’ chips is The Fish Counter on Main Street. Sorry guys

I stumbled across this joint before heading to Starbucks for lunch. I looked up their offerings on their website. I noticed that they sold a salmon burger at a decent price $10. I thought, why not, spend the extra couple dollars on a freshly made sandwich. However, when I paid, my bill total was just over $15. I was surprised by the huge price difference.

When I picked up my order, I realized that the box contained fries. The menu doesn't specify that it comes with fries, so I can only assume that it costs more because it came with fries. For the serving size, the price is reasonable by Vancouver's standards. I took off half a star because there was confusion with the pricing.

The flavour was good and the burger contained a generous serving of avocado. The only complaint I have is that there was too much tartar sauce and it overwhelmed the amount of salmon in the burger. The tartar sauce + avocado made for quite a rich sandwich. If you're hungry, this meal will curb your hunger! Overall, I think that they can lay off the tartar sauce a bit in the salmon burger. Also, if they can offer just the sandwich, without the fries, I would return more often.

As always the most wonderful fresh local fish and interesting condiments to boot. Absolutely recommended.

I cannot believe that after all these years I have not yet tried this hidden gem located minutes away from where I live. This place by far has one of the best fish and chips that I've ever had in the city, including Steveston Richmond. If you live in Vancouver, come check out this place. It's a seafood shop, selling everything from fresh seafood, to salads and clam chowder. There's an area to the side where you can order hot food like fish and chips and seafood sandwiches. I ordered for the first time today the lingcod fish and chips with a side of fries. It included a nice portion of creamy coleslaw and chunky creamy tartar sauce with dill slices in it. The beer battered fish was light and crispy, while fried to golden perfection. I will definitely be returning with my partner and friends.

Great place for everything you need to make a awesome seafood meal. I was happy to get all the fixings for a nutritious dinner for my wife and I. She loved it!
