One of the blandest sandwiches I've ever had; don't waste your money on it. I don't know how they can offer such delicious baked goods yet falter with a basic sandwich.

Enjoy your meals elsewhere else and visit here for their desserts—the only thing they get right.

One of my favourite neighbourhood places to go for truly amazing pastries and coffee. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly. Get the affogato, it doesn’t disappoint!

Update: Coffee shop expanded, extra tables and chairs added. Great vibe, awesome to chill and relax with a good cup of java!
On the side note, you can tell a lot by the washroom cleanliness, and this one is clean like a pharmacy. Spotless!

I really enjoy their Gelato. They have a wide range of Gelato selection. They allow you to taste. Also you can mix two flavours for one scoop. I think that's a win win ;)

I recommend their Double Espresso and Chocolate Sorbet. So good!

If you are ever in the Burnaby Heights East Hastings area, highly recommend this café for their pastries. They've got some unique pastries that taste pretty good Definitely would love to come back to try other pastries and also their gelato!

Fantastic gelato and espresso. They’re using Detour coffee, and their baristas know what they’re doing. This place is legit. Definitely recommended.

The taste of Fererro and salted caramel gelato was so bad and I couldn’t bare it at all so I throw it away and it was so costly
but the environment was good

Got some savoury pastry and blue matcha latte. Pastry was really tasty and matcha latte was perfect addition?

Stopped by for a quick croissant today and was recommended an amazing hazelnut chocolate croissant. I had it warmed up to go and couldn't be happier? I'll be back for sure!

The best cafe! I have been a regular customer for over a year. They have the best coffee/Americano, gelato and pastries! Their service is excellent and always friendly.

All the products at FDL are so good that you want to go out of your way to get them. This cafe is one of the best around. They really put the love into it.

Holy hell! We travel full time in our RV. We’ve eaten some food along the way! The croissants are perfection! We just left and can’t wait to get back and try the desserts. We had the cheese pita, croque monsieur croissant and a sausage croissant. So so good!

One of the the cleanest washrooms and store I have ever seen. As well as the staff was super friendly and customer oriented. Love going there. Management should consider keeping great staff like them

I have become their new fan! I really enjoy their coffee and literally one of the best ice americano. Amazing pastries as well. For the past week I have already been there 3x

Went for father’s day and also recently got some delivered vis Doordash. Things there are quite pricey. Some menus like the fruit danish are often sold out and hard to get a hold of. So i was happy to secure it through Doordash. I wish there was more custard cream in proportion to the pastry dough. The fruits were really fresh. The mocha was also nice.
To note, their drink sizes are tiny. Like Europe size.

Very cozy, coffee is great, and the staff is amazing. I ordered a small latte and due to the busy day they were having during Burnaby Heights Festival, the latte was just a bit late yet they were so polite and apologetic. They gave me a larger size latte and 2 free baked items. They even tried to offer me some ice cream!

They play favourism on customers.the cashier took the order from the guy behind me without even talking to me. The guy was their regular customer and spent a long time chatting with them. The cashier completely ignored me. When I asked to order, the cashier gave an excuse that she assumed I was not ordering. I placed a very simple order: hot tea and chocolate croissant but they did not take care of my order. Their barista made coffee for another customer who placed an order after me. Again, I had to ask and follow up. This was absolutely unfair. I am not sure why they ignored me. I think I deserve an explanation on their customer service.

Definitely the best pastries, coffee and gelato in the whole greater vancouver area! The staff treats you like a family guest rather than a customer. I now have my all-time favorite! Nothing comes even close.

I love this place because of it good staff, amazing environment and a restroom cleaner than a hotel room!
There is still room for improvement in their coffee though but I don't complain.

The chocolate croissant is amazing and delicious. It’s my son’s pick every time we visit the cafe.

Hazelnut and lemon meringue gelato were super good, but it was $6.81 for a single small cup which i think is a bit overpriced

Excellent Gelato! Cup looks small, but hard to finish! Will gladly return for some more! Oh, and try the Whiskey Cream gelato!

UPDATE: Returned 4/15/2022 - Just as good as the last time we visited. We've moved further out, drove by, and had to stop for more gelato! The pistachio gelato is top notch Worth stopping for!

Stopped in for some Gelato which I was really happy with the flavour options. I like that they promote taste testing unlike most places nowadays which no longer provide thay option. There's some tap water in a large pitcher and Mason jar mugs readily available. I took a look at the baked good which look delicious. I'll come again to try some other menu items.

This place has a very strong pastry game! There are so many other cookies and goodies that I didn’t take photos of. The cake I had was life changing. I think imma be a regular here from now on!

Great gelato, very fresh and tasty. One request to please abandon the plastic cups and spoon for a more environmentally friendly option!

Newly opened and with a great variety of gelatos to choose from. They had flavour ranging from nuts to fruit. I went for the pistachio and the coffee one. My friend had the passionfruit and it was really refreshing. It was nice and tart. The gelatos overall had great flavour and the texture was smooth. It wasn't too sweet. I also noticed they had some baked goods in the back as well. Definitely check this place out if you're in the neighbourhood.

This is not at all authentic gelato, the texture is way off and the falvours are very fake tasting. I couldn't even finish it which is a shame because it was $6.50 (!) for a regular size. Go up the street to Nuvola Gelato, so much better and significantly less expensive.

Friendly mom and pop shop. All the classics, but good selection of flavours. Endless mixing allowed. Fair price for heaping scoops!

Most authentic gelato I’ve had! Love a family run business! Been there many times and will continue to go. Especially seeing all the fresh ingredients being used to make the gelato and sorbet. Mmmmmm

Owner learnt how to make authentic Italian icecream in Italy. Super creamy and fluffy. Best icecream by far. Will definitely be back for more.

Great Place. Nice hangout spot for a place on hastings. Very good gelato, a lot of flavours and it tastes very authentic. The sandwiches are also very good. The italian mix was one of the best Italian sandwiches that I have ever tried. Great family business with amazing service. Friendly and happy family run business with decent prices for their gelato. 5 star review would recommend.
