Just had dinner there tonight. We had jumbo prawns for an appy and a 14oz prime rib for the main. Service was excellent and food was done perfectly.

This is a great little place overlooking the white rock pier. They have a good looking patio and great service. I had a burger and my wife had the eggs. Benny, we both seem to have enjoyed our meal. We've been here a few times now. They do really have a good menu and good service.

Oysters are fresh. Clam and mussel steamer was a decent sized portion. Prices are a little on the higher side for oysters compared to other places in Vancouver area but you can’t beat the views and vibes of this space. Definitely sit on the patio if available.

Was a spur the moment after a walk on the beach with the family. At first I thought I made a mistake by being at an upscale restaurant with a toddler. By the end of the meal I had my expectations exceeded. Over the top service and 10/10 food. Obviously having our toddler well behaved made a huge difference as well.

Came to the beach for Mexican and Margaritas to find out place was closed for the day. Switched course and decided on oysters and wine. Had a wonderful meal. Great service and atmosphere. Definitely will be back.

I decided to splurge on a Lobster Benny, that has all the fixin's of a balanced healthy meal. Delicious lobster on an exquisite muffin, done to perfection, (not chewy like some other places). Roasted potatoes, are prepared to accentuate your tastebuds and beautiful soft inner and only slightly crispy on the outer layer. "Fruit", a lovely compliment with strawberries, red grapes, watermelon, and orange plus grapefruit and then some. Hollandaise sauce over lobster chunks is something you won't easily forget on how delectable it is.see pics and enjoy with a Raspberry Tickler Martini. The best in town!

If you are Asian even if you have reservation they will gave you a table at the back and Caucasian at the window/front area. They ushered two Chinese couple and 1 Japanese at the back near the kitchen area. Just tell them you want table near the window and if they insist and gave you the table at the back just leave and dine somewhere else.

Phenomenal Ahi Tuna! Everyone else's dishes were top notch as well. Great service. Awesome vibe. Gorgeous views. What else do you want!?

Got the lamb rack ($84) & the lobster ravioli ($46). Both were pretty good but small portions for the price. Wasn’t exceptional but pretty decent. The server was running around trying to get everyone’s orders so didn’t ever refill our drinks. The ocean views from the patio are pretty great!

Prices are set for fine dining but the food and the flavors were absolutely amazing! Our server was very friendly and the manager was awesome to talk to highly recommend for date night or a nice diner across from the ocean.

Good oysters, great location, nice ambience. The food was underwhelming overall for the price. The biggest problem was with my fish and chips, one of the pieces of fish was bad; it tasted like it was out too long before cooking, very overly fishy and bitter. I couldn't eat it and spit out what was in my mouth. When I told our waitress, she left me with the plate and went back to tell the chef. When she returned, she told me the chef had filleted the fish himself and that it was fresh. I guess I'm wrong then? I would expect a place with those prices to be more serious about it. Take the fish back and at least smell it. It was indeed easy to smell the problem. It was a missed opportunity to improve and after that we were not interested in staying around for additional drinks and dessert. Would not return or recommend.

Amazing food! The oysters and the Halibut we're imply amazing! Plus the location is super convenient. Depending on the day, finding a parking spot can be a problem.

Although the food was good (not amazing), we had a awful experience. My husband and I went to dinner for our anniversary. Our server came over and took our drink order and left before we could order an appetizer. She didn’t come back with our drinks for 10 minutes. All we ordered was a beer and coke. She took our order and left. She was very smug, Looked over my husbands shoulder and didn’t ask how our food was.
We overheard the other servers give guests the specials of the day and spend some time talking. Our server couldn’t have cared less.
We noticed her talking and smiling to all the others and could only come to the conclusion that we were being treated different because we’re visible minority. Paid and got out ASAP.

A great spot, friendly staff and Delicious meal. You need a reservation as it gets really busy for dinner. Fantastic location overlooking the water. We enjoyed BC wine and wonderful seafood. Mussels, halibut and salads. Would highly recommend it.

Food, service and drinks were incredible!
We will definitely be making this place regular place to visit.
Patio entertainment was pretty good too.

Came in ordered 2 margaritas and a dozen oysters. Drank the margs, bf ordered a Corona. 30 mins go by no oysters. Ppl around had been served. We say to the server that I guess the oysters aren't coming and she says oh ya they are on the way when in reality it was forgotten and it would have been better to admit that than pretend. Canceled the oysters that were never coming paid and left

Honestly felt the food was way overpriced and didn't taste great. I had the Creole chicken and everything on the plate was overcooked. The chicken was under seasoned and the lobster was way overcooked. Did not meet my expectations and I'd rather spend my money at the Boathouse.

The service was great, the menu is poorly constructed, food quality is inconsistent, and over priced. I had the worst lobster tail dish in this place (soggy, oily), it was like a left over from last night that was reheated and served.

If you’re in White Rock and love oysters this is your place.
We popped in for dinner and it didn’t disappoint. We had booked on OpenTable for a window seat, but we’re sat in the back next to the bar. We understand things happen, but that’s the only reason for the loss of a star.
The food and service did not disappoint. Our server was very knowledgeable about the seafood and was able to offer suggestions on which oysters to order.
As the main dish, I had the halibut which was cooked well and had a good flavor. My only suggestion would be to add a little more flavoring the sauce.
All in all, a good experience.

On the beach with a view of the pier. Great seafood with excellent personalized service. Recently had a birthday celebration for 10 and the staff were very accommodating.

This place is wonderful! Reservations recommended as it was still a bit busy at 740 on a Wednesday night. The sweet Georgia peach martini is a must have if you love peaches! The sauted calamari was very flavorful, the jalapenos give it a nice kick. The caesar salad definitely lives up to it's garlicky name. Will definitely be back to try other dishes!

Over Priced! Food was good and service was good but over priced food and drinks. Bill came to $475 with tip for 4, had oysters, mussels which are mid range on the price point and my son had the creole chicken for $45 which wasn't worth the price. A double ceasar is $25. For $475 we could have had a feast at so many other places. Dissappointing and left hungry.

Pastas were fine, Good enough but not perfect. A little overpriced. Ordered seafood linguine and lobster ravioli, both 40$each, overall fresh ingredients with premium cheese, ordered six oyster, mixture of three types of oyster, maybe due to the season, twoof the typed has a the smallest amount of meat I've ever eaten, so if you are to order oyster I would recommend the white shell one.

Service is great, but but but. Waiting time to get food! It took forever.
Menu is poor and totally misunderstandable. Everything is overpriced.
The Boathouse is definitely better. We ordered 5 dishes and left that place after 2 hours and still were hungry.

The food was good but the service was rough, the two workers had a hostile vibe. I felt like they where annoyed that we where there. Also we where the only ones there. Eventually a family showed up too, we over heard them saying somthing rude about the other table. The food was good tho. It was 150 bucks for our brunch. Also the person shocking oysters did a bad job.prolly won't go back. But the lobster eggs Benny was really good

So I’ll start with saying the lobster Benny was amazing. The food was good but we ordered oysters and 2-3 of them had basically a scrapped bit of nothing in it which is rough for $38 a dozen.
The service and vibe in there was not great. I saw the wait staff complaining about the table outside and felt like an intruder in their restaurant.
I will not return.

Lovely view and staff, oysters were good, but the lobster ravioli was incredibly salty, and I like a lot of seasoning but it was almost too much even for me.

I had a pretty good salmon pizza thing. Super expensive though, pretty crowded. Open hair, had a couple of flies around. Nice beach view. Friendly staff.

Reserved a table at Five Kitchen for my wife's birthday on our honeymoon. It was the best supper we have ever had! The seafood was fresh as can be and the service was unparalleled. Recommend the Seafood linguini and the oysters. A MUST try in White Rock!

Stopped in for a drink. Only one table taken Inside. 6 tables available. Told that we can't just have a drink and that they are primarily a food place. Sit. Sip. Stay. We had the opposite experience.

Came here today. Waited for 20 minutes to see another couple walk in and be seated immediately. The man working apologized Snd had us seated. Server was nothing special, a a bit brash even. Calamari was under seasoned, mains were okay but there are better options for $38 an entree and sub par service.

Absolutely terrible, so disappointed. Made reservations to go for Sunday brunch. Drove way out of the way to go there. Dropped off everyone while I drove around 5 miles to find parking (White Rock, pfft). When I come in and join my party everyone has their drinks, I am never offered once something to drink. We're seated at the only table in the restaurant that is in the dark. Every other light is on in the place except where we're seated.
I was looking forward to ordering the lobster benny, I was told they didn't have that, so I asked for a regular benny, was told that wasn't possible. Really? The person taking our order seemed to be the one in charge, whether she is the owner or the manager, she seemed to be the one in charge. She made an excuse for the poor service on being understaffed as someone had slept in or some other excuse. Message for the person in charge, your staffing issues should never be an issue for your guests. Regarding the cook not being able to prepare a regular benny, she just shrugged her shoulders and said there was nothing she could do about it as she walked away. You're in charge, if you can't do anything about anything what the heck are you doing?
So I order the burger, not what I wanted but I'm sure I would have been charged regardless if I had ordered nothing. Burger arrived with fries that were obviously from a frozen bag from a grocery store, the burger was dry, tomato slice was the end stump. There wasn't any salt on the fries so I asked for some. They brought over the salt grinder that was obviously from Costco, they had peeled the label off. I wish I hadn't added the salt because my burger tasted like there was a cup of salt in it. So again, after eating my salt-lick of a burger I really had wished they had offered me something to drink. Could not wait to leave so I could get something good. I definitely will never go back and could not recommend it to anyone. AVOID!

My wife and I went here for the 1st time. We had an oyster fest.all 24 were amazing haha! We also had the seafood hotpot and the paella! We had too much food but it was all very delicious! We were on the patio and had the million dollar veiw! Service was exceptional! We can't wait to go back!

I generally avoid eating out at White Rock beach as it is often far too expensive for the quality. I had not been to this restaurant in many years and was very pleasantly surprised by the entire experience. From our greeting at the door to our departure. The food was impeccably prepared, fresh, flavourful and the perfect portion size. Our server Kimberley was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu and brought a fun energy to our dining experience! We will be going back soon, for sure!

Friday night out and this restaurant made it fantastic. Everything from the moment we walked in until the last mouthful of dessert was spot on. The oysters the Caesar salad the calimari for appetizers were fantastic. The ginger ahi was incredible, my sister had the lemon grass mussels as did our other family members, they love them.

I am not a food critique but I can say, without any hesitation that I have never been disapointed with this restaurant. Love it!

Had a great dinner here on Friday night. Fantastic service by Natasha, delicious food, beautiful view and lovely live music by Larry, it was a great all around! The pricing is definitely on the high side but when you factor how great everything was, it is worth it.

We were greeted the moment we walked in. The host gave us a couple of options of where we could sit. Our server, Kim, was the all smiles the entire time. It was my birthday and she made it very special for me. We never had to wave her down because she regularly checked on us. The food was great. The wine list could be better.

I was traveling with a work companion and we enjoyed a wonderful seafood dinner here. I ordered the Dungeness crab and when the cute waitress learned I was from southern US, she offered for me to select it myself. I followed her to the back and rolled up my sleeve to catch my dinner from a tank full of crabs. They prepared it perfectly and picked it from the shell for me. Dinner was delicious and the White Rock area is beautiful especially at sunset.

The restaurant ambience is good, nice painting of mission bay hanging on the whole. We ordered 3 appetizers to share they were ok, the tuna carpaccio and the duck liver patè were covered with rocket salad which gives that strong bitter taste. As a main we had pork belly and scotch fillet, the sides of the mains is quite filling. The apple puree in the pork belly dish doesn't coordinate with each other, the scotch fillet very nice. To finish we ordered affogato with franfelico and cream brulee. Both very yummy. The place has nice atmosphere and friendly staff. We will back again

Had dinner here for the first time.seems like a new restaurant! The layout is very beautiful Pinterest like. Love that it is in front of the pier however it’s currently broken.the menu is average to slightly pricey but everything we had was delicious! The condiments for the oysters were amazing and they give you a lot of options. Oysters were very fresh and smelt good! I know Caesar salad is such an easy dish but they nailed it with the perfect amount of garlic and pepper in the dressing and best party light crunchy croutons! Really enjoyed the ahi tuna with risotto and the seafood fettuccini both such amazing meals! Topped it off with a creme brûlée for dessert just WOW! The dish the creme brûlée was served in a unique bowl perfect to share between two people. I wouldn’t bring kids here but perfect for a date night!

I have loved this brunch spot for years. And I do mean years! BUT - they've reduced the portion size hugely. And I was starving even after salmon bennies but could not justify ordering more after paying $20 for a tiny portion. Won't be going back - I was very disappointed.

service- was adequate for our table of two.
Food-We started with the steamed mussels and clams, I usually prefer with more broth, it had about a 1/4 inch of broth.not my favorite dish on the menu but it was not terrible either. Probably wouldn't get that again. The main dishes were much better, one plate being the filet mignon, and the other the catch of the day, the lingcod.both dishes were cooked just right. Presentation of the main dishes were well done.
Looks/restaurant itself- a little tacky.based on the menu I looked at online I dressed up.not to the nines.but I definitely was not dressed to go to a basic restaurant, when I arrived I felt over dressed. I honestly didn't want to remove my jacket or even get up to find the restroom. The menu and name doesn't really match the style the restaurant gives off if that makes any sense. It didn't have a bad vibes but it had more of a casual feeling upon arrival.jeans and a nice sweater and t-shirt will do you fine. But for me i was hoping for more of a modern look, especially with a name like five, sounds fun and young. Not starfish decor. We know we are at a seafood restaurant, simplify and minimize the beachy decor. With that said I would go back just not dressed up, probably great for a breakfast, lunch or casual dinner date not romantic couple evening. -Rose Gold

Amazing restaurant by the beach in White Rock. This our 2nd visit and every single dish we tried has been so delicious.

The daily special - halibut we had was probably the very best halibut dish I’ve ever had. Their staffs are super friendly and know really well about their food. I can’t wait to go back.

Ok, rack of lamb was tasty but the chops were so small and veggies on the board were way overdone. Service was great.

Excellent seafood dishes. Thoughtful friendly service, pleasant fresh setting looking out on the bay. We had mussels, calamari, piae, glutton free and veggie flat bread.everyone left happy and satisfied.

Located on the beach strip in White Rock across the street from the pier, Five restaurant ought to be full every night. I've tried several closeby restaurants but return to Five time and again. Excellent food with good-sized portions whether you crave seafood (Oysters Rockefeller, the Seafood Linguini), chicken (Creole Chicken) or a juicy sirloin. Service is personable and staff knowledgeable. Restaurant views are lovely from window seating and an inner table will still provide warm ambiance. Can't wait to eat there again!

Had a reservation for 6 for dinner. Server was friendly and very helpful, even explained the free shuttle service. Oysters on the half shell were beautiful and the halibut cakes was mostly halibut with very little filler. Service was a little slow for food to arrive. Once it did 1 order fish and chips was cold the other hot. Creole chicken was well presented and taste was right but the chicken was over cooked tough to cut. In a dish like that the chicken should pull apart nicely. Seafood Linguini was good taste wise but not very much seafood. Prices are a little on the high side for the quality of the dishes we ordered. White Rock weekends excellent views but horrid parking, bring your walking shoes and a hat on a sunny day
