These guys know exactly what they’re doing, I called afternoon Wednesday and they had me in afternoon next day. It’s definitely a place that you make it your go to barbershop.

Gerard’s attention is on point. I shall return. It is always hard to find that barber that just knows what to do, with out promoting. If I could give a 6 ️ ️ ️ ️ ️ ️, I would. So there it is. If you are in need of a true professional, call the shop phone and ask for Gerard. My hair has never looked so good.

First time coming to Five Star Fades. First thoughts, the atmosphere of the barbershop was clean and nice, had to wait around 10 minutes, soon realized a teenager was going to cut my hair but I received such amazing service and the attention to detail from Gerard was outstanding. Incredible conversationalist and gave a 5 star haircut. If you need a haircut, get Gerard.

Booked here yesterday for my anniversary this weekend, and I get a text saying my barber is now sick and left me high and dry on a Friday to find another barber. I asked for an alternative time with zero response. Might be 5 star fades, but the service is 1 star. I understand people get sick, but dropping the ball on communication is inexcusable.

Great casual but professional place for a haircut. Did a great job and very gentle with my toddler too at his first time getting haircut.

I came to Five Star Fades not knowing what to expect as I have an upcoming wedding in couple days. I had booked an appointment with Gerard Mak for April 26, at 1: 00 PM. Gerard was ready to go upon me walking in and knew exactly what style would suite me. Gerard did an amazing job, including lining up my beard and shaping my moustache to my amazing fade and haircut. Gerard was a pleasure to have as my barber as he was personable and had tremendous skill. I showed my Fiancé who immediately loved the fade and wanted me to always come here. Due to Gerard's amazing work, I am definitely coming back again next month (appointment already booked with Gerard). It is rare seeing someone so passionate about what they do and making sure their clients look a million dollars. Five Star Fades is definitely lucky to have Gerard and I am glad he is my barber.

Amazing people very professional and friendly, I would recommend to anyone looking for a amazing haircut, Johnathan was my barber and he was amazing.

I can't remember the name of the barber that cut my hair, but sadly he cut more than just my hair.

I found this out later on when I went for a shower to clean the hair off. My neck had been grazed by the shaver. Little too close to the skin for my liking. I spent a while sitting down, so with the time it had taken, I would have expected a good cut.

I have now found a different place to cut my hair.

Decor is wonderful and a very nice location indeed. Shame the workmanship is not on par.

Went for the first time the other day, got a perfect fade while I kicked it w the staff and watched a football match, immaculate vibes, fades living up to their name.

I was thoroughly impressed with my overall experience at Five Star Fades Barbershop. This is a great environment for all ages and the level of professionalism from all the barbers is outstanding. I got blessed with Jonathan for my cut and his attention to detail was impressive. Jonathan also provided me with insightful recommendations for my hair and it is evident that he cares a lot about delivering quality experiences for his clients!

This place although has a nice atmosphere is a horrible barber shop. I came to get my haircut and showed the barber what i wanted and this guy did the complete opposite. The photo shows medium length hair and a low fade. My barber, Jonathan to be exact. Cut my hair as if it was his first time cutting. At times he seemed lost and barely showed me what i look like. He gave me a mid to high fade and extremely short hair. Didn’t even show me my fade. Overall a terrible experience and piss poor haircut and Jonathan showed his poor hair cutting skills. Learn how to cut hair u fool‍️.

My experience at Five Star Fades was amazing! Everyone was friendly, solid barbers. 10/10 would recommend. I had Jonathan as my barber, and he gave me a FRESH cut. And hit up my boy Jonathan he’ll clean you up real nice.

Been coming to Five Star for a few weeks now. Without a doubt, one of the better barber shops in the lower mainland. Jonathan, the junior barber, is awesome and only getting better.

First time coming to Five Star Fades, but I had a great first experience. The store was very clean and tidy. Jonathan was very thorough and very detail-oriented. He made sure I left happy with my haircut.

I had Saeid and this dude is top notch, I said what I wanted and then he suggested what he thought would look good. So I let him run with it. Super happy.

Went to the shop and had Nico for the session. He was attentive to what i wanted from my haircut regarding the little details, and the fades were clean! Left with a fresh cut, no disappointments here! Great vibe overall at the shop as well

Five Star Fades does not disappoint! I have been going here since shortly after they opened (~3 years) and haven't changed barbers since. Travis is my go-to guy, but you'll be in great hands regardless of who you go to.

Had a junior barber - Bailey. She did great with a bit of instruction. Very attentive and well done for a junior. Been here about a dozen times and never had a bad experience. It is pricey for even a basic fade from a junior ($40 or so after tips), but I can't complain about the quality.

Very clean shop, great atmosphere. I get my haircut from Nico and I've never left dissatisfied. However, All the barbers there are amazing at their craft, highly recommend. You will not be disappointed!

Always a quality hair cut with quality conversation. The Barber shop is always clean with really nice art work. Highly recommend this location.

First time at this shop, overall the place is clean, the staff is friendly and the location is great, however the service fell short to me for the below reasons based on my experience with the barber Nico:

- The whole time I was facing the wall (no mirror) and was not able to see the progress to give feedback to the barber
- The barber wouldn't move around to position himself to reach different angles of my head, he would spin the chair (not joking, 1/2 or 1/3-spins) that at the end it was getting ridiculous, for a moment I thought we would do a full spin like a merry-go-round
- Nico's attention to detail is appreciated, but a full hour for a regular haircut with no fancy fading or lines seemed excessive to me, roughly half hour passed and the top of my hair hadn't been touched yet
- Whenever Nico wanted me to turn or tilt my head he would use almost wrestling strength to make me turn my head away, sometimes applying poking pressure with his two fingers. More gentle Nico, yes, we're guys but we're not cattle
- At the end, when paying, I found it disrespectful of my time that Nico would be on his phone texting while I was waiting for him to hand me the ATM machine until I had to call him out on it

For those reasons. I'm out

Five Star Fades was the first barber shop I’ve visited since the pandemic started and I’m really glad I chose them! Azdar was polite, smart, and skilled, able to take my vague direction and tangled rat’s nest of hair and run with it. It’s the best haircut I’ve had in many years (not just 2020-2021!)

After a year and a half, my hair got too long and finally, I decided to cut it short. And I picked a perfect place! My guy Travis was excellent and so were the other staff. I’m moving to Port Moody in a week but I’ll keep coming back for my hair. Thanks, guys, and I’ll be back!

Nico is organized and detailed with his fades and style. He’s always looking for ways to add more skills to his already solid skill sets. Five Star fades in Burnaby is relaxed atmosphere but super clean. Highly recommend going to check out the spot - book in advance!

Amazing barbershop, super clean and well organized and following Covid procedures. Kenan has been cutting me for awhile and he’s perfected fades and would always trust him with my haircuts, always exceeding expectations and overall great place.

Got my haircut here with Travis after not getting a proper haircut due to lockdown. Travis is an awesome barber that took his time and paid a lot of attention to detail. He gave me a really nice fade. Had multiple compliments already. Store was very clean and nicely lit as well.

If you’re looking for the best haircut you’ve ever had, Five Star Fades Barbershop is the only barbershop you should be going to.
I started getting my haircut by Danijel (owner of the shop) 11 years ago, when he was starting out as a barber at another shop. I can honestly say that during the entire 11 years I’ve been going to him, I have never had a bad haircut; not one.
Danijel is unmatched when it comes to quality, precision, attention to detail, and high-standards. He will always make sure you leave his shop looking your best. This was confirmed for me when I needed an emergency haircut for an audition, and Danijel was out of the country. I went to another popular barbershop chain, and the difference in quality was obvious. For the first time in 11 years I was disappointed with a haircut, and that’s because I settled for less than the best.
Danijel always goes the extra mile and catches the mistakes (and stray hairs) that most barbers miss. In my opinion, he truly has no equal.
Now that he has his own shop, he holds all of his barbers to his standard of excellence. I’d be willing to bet good money that you’d be unable to find a single patron of Five Star Fades that has had a bad experience or haircut.

Definitely the best barbershop I’ve ever been to. Travis always gives me the maddest of fades and he’s very friendly with his customers. Best barbershop in Burnaby! All of their barbers are super friendly and the shop is one of a kind. I really appreciate the protocols they have implemented to reduce the spread of COVID. I felt very safe and I will definitely be back!

I am new to the area as i just recently moved in, I walked by this place all the time and decided to walk in for an appointment, the shop is extremely clean and had really nice vibe to it!

I was assigned to Travis who gave me the best fade by far! No joke this place actually lives up to the name 5 star fades. Will definitely be coming back! PS: I LOVE THE background music they play in here!

I remember a year ago I wanted to find a new barber. Luckily there was a spanking new barbershop just around the corner from my place. At the time I didn’t know they didn’t take any walk in clients, I went in and they were very nice, friendly and put me in line for the next cut. That’s when I met Travis, he’s very nice, chill, professional and I can tell he loves his job. Ever since I always find him when I need a trim. Not saying the rest of the crew aren’t as good but I just go to travis cause I can trust him. And if your around Brentwood area and you need a fresh fade. Please do call them ahead of time to get you a rsvp for a haircut.

This place has to be one of the cleanest barber shops in North America. The staff are very welcoming and professional, the barbers are precise and very accustomed to their craft and every single haircut has love, care and a personal touch that resonates with the customers. I always have the barber Kenan K cut my hair, he is very professional and a true perfectionist! There is a reason the name is 5 Star Fades!

Great haircuts. A little on the pricey side but where you'd pay 20 for a 20 minute cut, they won't let you leave your chair until you're completely satisfied. Go see Travis if you're looking for someone
