Floyd's Diner James Bay

Food was delicious, and our server, I think his name was Eric? Was super nice! Would definitely recommend for a hungover feed. The vegan option was great and so many options for bacon and eggs.

Making people stand 6 feet apart outside the restaurant, only to seat them 2 feet apart inside doesn't make a lot of sense. Not sure what kind of invisible force field we walked through when we entered the restaurant? Assuming the sign is for public perception or there truly was some magical wizardry in place when you entered. Regardless the food was good and the service was too.

The day the three of us went to Floyd's, there was a lineup. My wife and I were underdressed for the weather and the manager brought out mugs of coffee to anyone who wanted it. That was amazing. When we finally got a table, the server Eric was fantastic. He was friendly and humourous. The food was just okay. My eggs lacked seasoning, for example. I still think Floyd's deserves 5 stars and I would go again and ask them to make me a new entree if I didn't like it.

We had our breakfast here. The building is very nicely laid out and you really get the feeling of the typical North American culture. The service was very friendly and personal and they could have a nice chat with you. The portions of the food are very much and you definitely won't be hungry after visiting Floyd's diner. The food had a lot of flavor and this place is definitely a place to visit if you are in the area!

The food is really good, come prepared to wait outside for a table during peak weekend hours. They did bring out coffee while you waited. The staff are fun and help create a great atmosphere.

Delish food, good portions. Very very very slow service. It took 30 mins to receive my breakfast order. The waitress didn't check up on me and put my food on the table and didn't say anything and walked away like I didn't exist.

Best diner on the block! Atmosphere is welcoming and cozy. The staff are just good people. They're friendly, funny and not to mention, phenomenal at what they do. Utmost respect for the servers and chefs. Love yall!

My family's favourite place to eat! Best staff ever! Their fries are to die for! Try one of their strawberry shakes!

It's been years since I was last here but it has not changed much. Staff are awesome, very attentive and funny. Food was so tasty, fresh and filling. 11/10 will be back.

First, the food was excellent, although the French toast was a bit plain. The service was not good at all. The waitress was not attentive at all. The food took so long to arrive. But, the atmosphere was amazing. It was a cozy restaurant.

There's reason that they're crowded, they're have good food, service. It can get loud when busy, but is a part of the overall atmosphere. Worth the wait for sure

Floyd's diner is a must go in Victoria. We ordered the Mahoney, and I got a big and delicious breakfast sandwich. We flipped the coin, and one of us won. It's a fun way to have breakfast! Service was really good! All the staff were super polite and friendly, and food was really good. Will come back to try another creative deliciousness from the kitchen team!

Great little diner just a short walk from the harbor. Doesn't seem to be frequented by visitors, it's mostly locals, but with the combination of great food, friendly staff and good prices, a must for getting a good start to the day.

I'm not a breakfast person. So when a restaurant focuses on breakfast, I lose interest because for me it just reduces the menu options by half. So, I ordered a beef dip.which I found that they had run out of. Yay, one less item to choose from. It really didn't leave a lot of choices. On the other hand, our waiter was great. He was attentive, pleasant, fun even. All in all, the experience was positive. My wife liked her Monte Cristo, my meal was adequate. I'll try Floyd's again.

As always the food at Floyd's is amazing! The service however was totally lacking. Our waitress seemed like she would rather be anywhere but there, kept forgetting items/refills etc. Overall still a killer breakfast but most definitely would choose the Langford location 100 times out of 100!

Visiting the island for our anniversary. This was our first visit to Floyd's. It was a fantastic experience. The novel menu, and incredible food, the only thing better was the staff. Thanks Kevin and all.

My wife had the lumberjack, I had the double your pleasure breakfasts and we were completely surprised by the portions. I have to say, it was the best breakfast of our week long trip. Loved the staff and the service. We sat in the back patio.

A Thursday morning breakfast:

1) solid staff (friendly and happy)
2) a cool atmosphere with pictures and wall hangings that inevitably create conversation
3) the portions are generous (large enough to share between two)
4) everything we ordered was so F’n good.

I recall saying something like “O M F G, this is soo frickin good! ”

Note: this place does have a lineup (due to a low number of available tables/seats) …however, it is worth the wait. So don’t try to fit this stop it to a busy schedule, rather I suggest you book your day around IT.

Incredible food, story and decor! Although wait times once seated can be quite long, it is still worth a 5 star review as the final product is awesome!

The best breakfast spot in Victoria. Hands down. My family and I had breakfast here and we were extremely pleased with everything. The food was unbelievable. The service was extraordinary. This is a Victoria must go. A great way to start your morning! P. S you have to go early because there is usually a line to get in.

This small diner with music from the past serves as a memory lane moment for some, lived up to reviews on their menu as everything we tried was made to an excellent standard!
Got there early, no waiting and staff from the door person checking QR's to the servers were pleasant and cheery.
You won't regret choosing this place for a spot of breakfast.

Went here for brunch at Floyd's diner. Wanted to see what the hype was all about. Not disappointed. I ordered the American Idol eggs benedict. It included bacon, tomatoes, avocado and a pesto hollandaise sauce. Amazing flavours and everything came out quickly. Service was great and the wait time to get in was 25 minutes on a long weekend. I was very impressed on how quick and efficient they are. Will be back again. Great brunch spot!

Really adorable place! Got the traditional eggs benny and chai latte.the food was good, nothing too extraordinary but the latte and the atmosphere is really warm and welcoming.really sweet servers and host, and the decor+art inside and outside was very pleasing to the eye.

Delicious food and unparalleled service. Our waitress was super helpful, friendly, and made great recommendations. Highly worth the wait!

Had 1.5 hours to grab a quick lunch before an appointment. Waited 20 minutes for a table, 10 minutes to order, and then 50 minutes for the food to arrive. Nothing fancy, just an omelette and one benny.
The food was not bad, but definitely not worth the wait at all.
And they have a mandatory 4% COVID tip which I’ve happily paid at other restaurants, but I feel like Floyd’s does not deserve it.

Went into Floyd’s Diner this morning. Typical Saturday morning from what I gathered. Lined up and there’s a reason why. Here’s the skinny:

The Food:

I enjoyed the full stack of three pancakes with the Bourbon Maple Syrup. Trust me when I tell you that “YOU will feel cheated in life if you don’t try this. ” A healthy sized portion for the hungry individual.

My girlfriend had the chicken and waffles benny with the potato medallions. She really enjoyed her meal and due to portion size she was unable to finish it.

The Staff:

You go there for the breakfast on the weekend you will wait for it and the staff is real cool about that. They would come out to check on newcomers as they arrived and everyone was offered coffee as they waited which to me was a great gesture. Our waiter was awesome as well.

Ya gotta go there!

Three words, Chicken Waffle Benny. A perfect blend of sweet and savoury (with a bonus kick of a little heat) took me by surprise. What a great breakfast. Get there early for first seating, if possible. The lineup forms quickly.

Great staff. They were helpful and made a somewhat awkward time into a great experience. I would highly recommend coming here because the staff and food are top notch. Other than stuff they can't control like weather, insects etc. I have no complaints. The patio is also animal friendly which makes it a great experience as a whole.

Flavorless pancakes over cooked poached eggs, burnt bacon, would not recommend, what happened to Floyd's?

Cons. Very upbeat atmosphere, social distancing in place and in full force. Cons.the coffee was luke warm, and I was not offered a refill during my 40 minute visit. The food was good, portions also good. Just a little pricey, my son and iI both had breakfast and with the tip. $50.00.

Incredible food! I got the Mahoney and let them decide what to cook for me and I was not disappointed! Hungry folks must eat here!

Excellent staff, upbeat and cheerful despite the challenges of Covid restrictions. They went above and beyond, serving us coffee as we waited in line in the rain, offering an umbrella, and getting our brunch order in to the kitchen the moment we entered so we could eat quickly and head out for the ferry. We came for the funky look of it and will return for the five star service.

Always just what I want when I'm craving brunch. Reasonably priced with a kind wait staff and delectable food.
