In my opinion, they're baking the most delicious pizza in the valley (baked in fire oven). Great list of local craft beers as well!

I had ribs and wings, they were great. My husband had fish and chips, the fish had zero taste (something to improve on). The serving staff was very good. Great ambiance.

We considered lots of restaurant options when we were in Courtenay a couple of weeks ago. After looking at several menus online, we decided on the Flying Canoe. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. She's a vegetarian and enjoyed a wood-fired margherita pizza and a (huge) salad. She said it was one of the best salads she'd ever had from a restaurant. I had chicken wings, garlic toast, pizza, and Caesar salad. The quality of food and the portion sizes were great. Great selection of locally crafted draft beer as well. Would definitely eat there again when we're back.

Our server Amanda was very nice and professional. Must have hit a bad night for the kitchen as the salad was really bad. Salmon was also over cooked and rubbery. Amanda and her manager immediately offered to replace my meal which was very nice of them. I ordered the fish and chips which were very good. My coworkers ordered the pizza which looked completely undercooked and slapped together hastily. Other coworkers had the ribs which they enjoyed. Nice atmosphere however I think you need to stick to the menu items that are core to their wheel house.

Only dined here once and probably won't return. My mac and cheese was really runny and flavourless - like watered down cheese soup with no seasoning or salt. The service was also really slow and parking was really restricted. The dill chips were yummy though!

Had the Buffalo chicken burger.great chicken burger, east smothered in hot sauce and was real chicken not the frozen chicken breast you usually get.onion rings really good too, would eat here again.

Good food, good service, good company and very sure to closely inspect the beautiful handmade canoes!

Great server and the food was fabulously unexpected. We had a burger, salmon and pizza and none of us went away hungry or disappointed. The price point is a bargain when compared to quantity and quality. Will definitely be dining with them again!

Haven't been for a while. Prices have gone up considerably and was not worth it. Well here we are 5 yrs later Friday night just after 5: 00 and we are told that they are understaffed and we will have to wait to be seated. Half the tables in the restaurant were empty. You aren't the only place in town. Maybe if the owners paid there staff a fair wage they could staff the place. I guess we'll wait for the next owners before we come back.

Such amazing food. The pizza is soo good. Ordered skip though and did not receive 2 flourless brownies that I ordered. #sad

Not impressed. 2 hour wait. "Machine went down when our order went in" but people who came in after us got their food? Yeaahhh.no

The food is absolutely exceptional and the prices are so fair for the portions! I order from them regularly and have never been dissapointed. Their hot spinach dip is phenomenal!

We came here on a Sunday night for dinner when we were visiting Courtenay. From the outside it looked like a regular pub, but once we got inside the layout and decor was quite impressive. The food we ordered was very good - as was the service. I was VERY impressed with the selection of craft beers - whoever is in charge of this has obviously done their homework and it shows -they had a better variety and selection of craft beers than a lot of 'tap houses' that I have been to. To top it off, it was also karaoke night and that was a blast to sit back and watch the show. Next time we are in Courtenay we are definitely coming back here.

Friendly staff but unfortunately its fair to say my order was less than average. Overcooked proteins and nasty smelling colesalaw. They'll find it hard to compete with the new KFC across the road if that continues.

Stopped for lunch, had the special which was an Italian sandwich and mushroom soup. It would better be described as a small pizza sub and weak watered down soup. Price was a shocker. Not returning

My buddies and I have wings there once a week. Price is good, wings are delicious. The staff are friendly, and kids are allowed inside.

Excellent beer selection but the food is average pub grub at best. One of the best places in the Valley to come for beers but not ideal for supper.

Great food and beverages. They need more staff though. Bartender was doing all the work. Waiting tables outside and in. Did a fine job just had to much to do.

Good pub food, big platters of fried foods, good prices on beer and cocktails. Nice pub vibe, and it may be a neighbourhood place because the servers and clients are all very friendly. I was there during a pub quiz night and it was interactive and fun even though we were not participants. I have popped in to listen to live bands too. If you need a good pub outing this is the place to be. Very close to the hotels as well, walking distances to at least 5 hotels.

I visited this establishment twice while visiting Courtenay. Why? Because my first experience was wonderful and thought my second would be the same. How wrong I was. My first experience occurred on Easter Friday, when there weren't many people in the building. The lone server I talked to was friendly and pleasant, explaining all the daily specials including her favourites. Because it was a sunny day I asked if I could sit on the patio and she said it was OK (even though she might have to walk further to provide service). My second visit on Easter Monday (I have put in dates hoping the pub managers take note) was a disaster. Once again there was a single server, but not the one I encountered the first time. She was rude from the start. She couldn't explain the daily specials and seemed indifferent when asked about food offerings. She then tried to overcharge me for a Happy Hour beverage. Also, double check the chalkboard for specials before ordering (based on my exchange with server #2) it may be out of date. In summary, the server you have may determine your experience here.

Delish, deliveres to the lobby of best Western. Also, fun fact, you should totally just walk over to the micro brewery 2 min away, sit in the lobby in some lovely leather chairs next to the fire. #winning

Used to be geared more towards a younger crowd. Now it's just another place for old people to hang out like everywhere else in Comox Courtney. Deeply disappointed.

Staff was friendly and helpful.decor was a cross between a Legion and a midpoint bar. Nothing to complain about but no gold stars either.

Lane is the friendliest server in the Valley. We go for the drink and food specials. We come back for the welcoming and fun atmosphere.

Went there with the family for supper and it was awesome! I have to say I thought it would be expensive but the prices were really reasonable. The food I have to say was absolutely delicious! What I also liked about the food was that for the price the serving size was plentiful, you are for sure receiving quality food at affordable pricing and you are leaving there very full and satisfied. We will for sure be repeat customers, keep up the great job and delicious food!

The service wasn’t very great the last time I was here. Very slow, took forever for initial drink order to be taken. It was a busy evening, but there were plenty of servers on the floor. Ordered a pizza, took over half an hour to receive a warm Margherita pizza with a soggy centre (sitting on the pass too long?). Server only came back to check on us shortly after receiving food, not once asking if we’d like a refill of our empty beer glasses. We were seated right by the server station as well, so plenty of opportunity to notice empty beers.
