Four Points by Sheraton Victoria Gateway

I’ve stayed here twice now, and I have enjoyed both my stays… It’s about a 20-25 minute drive to downtown and I like how there’s no parking fee here, and that it’s self parking, no valet (downtown Marriott is valet only).

As soon you walk into the lobby you will notice the ScentAir smell… It’s in the lobby, hallways and elevators. And OMG it smells so good! It makes me want to get that for my place…

It is right next door to Costco, and a quick drive over to stores like Sephora, Michaels, Marshalls, Starbucks, etc.

The beds are comfy and the blackout blinds work lovely. You can control the heat or AC easily, and I prefer to keep the fan running for white noise, so it keeps a steady temperature at whatever you set it at.

I am not a big fan of the shower, as you have to walk all the way in to turn it on… It doesn’t make much sense that way…

Their lotion and body wash smells great. And they leave you a mouthwash and a nail file kit in the bathroom to use if you need.

The Marriott App is easy to use if you need to order any other supplies. You just go to requests and select what you need, they can either leave it at your door or knock for you to accept it.

They leave a local company can of pop to sample in your room as well, nice local touch!

It is easy to order food from DD/Skip/Uber to your room, as the elevators do not require card access, so your driver can bring it up right to your door.

I ate once at the restaurant downstairs, and it was really good! (I took it to go). However I was trying to call to order ahead, and the phone extensions are confusing, and the restaurant doesn’t pick up the phone as they’re busy, so you might have to go to the bar to order to go if you want that.

I’ll definitely stay here again!

One of the most mediocre hotels I’ve ever stayed at…. If you could even call it that. You don’t have any control of the heat in your room so it was freezing all night. The only thing the front desk people said to us was “oh, we’re sorry about that”
The alarm clock with the USB ports and outlets in the room doesn’t work, woke up to see that my phone didn’t charge over night.
Will not be staying with 4 points again.

We ended our vacation with this last hotel with a whirlpool tub in the room. Me and my wife’s first time to Vancouver island.we stayed in three hotel rooms for the three days we on the island. Both rooms from the previous nights costing an average $120-$150 a night was a better stay and a better choice than the $286 spent at this hotel…
Today is Monday, October 9,2023.
I’m completely blown away by the terrible service that I was given by this hotel management. Long story short, there was two buses full of kids from a soccer team that had arrived at the hotel, the same time as me. The hotel has a bar downstairs that connects. I was on the top floor, stuck with a wing of soccer players partying.zero sleep.and their terrible manager at the hotel has yet to get a hold of me to fix the situation.better yet in the morning, I find out that they did not give us complementary breakfast because apparently they didn’t charge it to us prior to booking and to take it up with Marriott customer service.

If you are away from Victoria downtown; this hotel in Langford is the best there is!

Easy to get to and from downtown, it's a short 10 Km drive. The rooms are no non-sense, parking is plentiful, staff at front desk (and the house keeping) are super polite! When I requested a room at the end of the hallway, they were happy to accommodate. 1

We didn't get a chance to eat at the two in-house restaurants since we had a pup with us. But I did wish the open patio restaurant should consider accepting dogs on the patio like most patios downtown do.

We ended up heading to Turmeric, a nearby Indian eatery with a dog friendly patio.

First time staying in this hotel. The courteous front desk staff left me with a good first impression, which was subsequently reinforced by the nice and tidy room. Location wise, it is not anywhere near the Inner Harbor, but the Langford lake is close by, which offers walking trails and a newly completed swimming platform to better enjoy the lake. The town of Langford where the hotel is situated also has a lot to offer, e.g. Shopping, dining, etc.

I have 3 nights booking in your Hotel in room 328 June 9-12 2023 when I’m stay in your I’m so happy because it’s clean and the food is delicious specially the breakfast and the service is fast and I would like to recognize PJ the guy in front desk the day I’m there he is very polite when he talk to the guest I feel he is willing to help to all the guest he explaining everything about the hotel and every time I’m in lobby I always see him he always busy to help to the guest and he always say Hello yo all the guest he always smiling to all the customers and I know when I’m stay there it’s so busy but the cleanliness is good. Keep it up

Such a wonderful experience! This hotel went above and beyond what I had expected- and most importantly the staff is incredible. The manager Malcolm Stevens is super friendly and inviting- definitely feels like family here & wished we could have stayed longer lol. Hats off to one of the best on the entire island!

Stay bc long weekend house keeping and service was amazing but why was it so cold all night no way turn up heat on AC. It sounded like elephants in hallways but friendly safe environment pool hot tub was bonus.

House keeping was amazing!
But but the rooms were super cold and you can't turn the heat up in the room, the hot tub was super cold and the steam room and sauna were warm but super dirty floors.
So shout out to house keeping for being amazing!

Gotta say, our experience was way beyond our expectations. Best customer service ever, PJ at the front desk, Janeen and Annabelle in the restaurant. Food was excellent, room was super, bed so comfortable. The clock had the right time.never find that anymore. Highly recommend.

It'll do. Cool pool area, the Steam room, Sauna, Hot tub and pool are big enough for a few. The gym, is not for your competition training. But it can keep you fit.

The restaurant downstairs has a lovely server and VERY edible food.

The hotel was VERY NOISY and although the room was clean, there was a big old dried up liquid mark on the wall. It was gross. The room had an adjoining door and I could hear everything in the next room. The front desk and cleaning staff were friendly and accommodating. On the day and evening of our stay, there many, many children running up and down the hallway and screaming loudly for hours. Their chaperones were sitting in the lounge area (right outside our room) socializing.
This was a terrible set up for guests to stay and relax. We booked a night there so we could get some peace and quiet. This place was loud! I have never been to a hotel so noisy, ever! By 920 pm, I packed my stuff and told my husband I have to go. I wanted sleep and peace desperately. I went to check out and was told to wait for the manager. The manager didn't understand what the problem was and didn't admit any wrongdoing on the hotel's part. He said "the parents all signed a contract to be quiet by 930" which is great, but the noise wasn't normal noise. I felt like I spent the evening at PlayZomne. There was no apology and no recognition from the manager, though he was polite enough. I resolved my situation by telling him I'm not paying for the night. Not sure how appropriate this was, but I have standards and I do feel bad that I forgot to leave a tip for the cleaners who work so hard for little pay. I'm sorry cleaners!
I will not be going back there.

Stayed here for Family long weekend.
Pet friendly - family friendly - was busy but they were great with everyone. Had a pool, gym, sauna, hot tub and steam room.
Kids enjoyed the stay.
Pub downstairs was friendly and patient.

Service is top notch. They accommodated our special needs without hesitation. Thx so much.

Staff member were very nice and competent. Rooms are clean and large enough. Manager was also very flexible and nice. No single complaints!

Had a terrific 4 nights here for my Son's hockey tournament this past weekend. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful and even had a special room for the kids to gather each day to hang out together (great idea) the hotel felt close to everything we needed even a Costco right beside the hotel. Thank you to the management and everyone working there.

Nice spacious room.bed was very worn, with a notable dip in it.otherwise nice room.quiet.great location, convenient costco next door and easy access to highway. I will stay here again.

We had only 1 server for the whole restaurant this morning and 12 people in our group. He did is absolute best and we appreciated the effort on the part of the all the staff.
The food was great and menu very diverse.

This is not a fancy place but it has all the essentials. Our room was very quiet, the bed was comfortable and it's clean. A nice touch was the instructions in the shower room to show how to work the diverter. I also enjoyed the fitness room. It has a couple of treadmills, stationary bike and elliptical machines. It even has a decent set of dumbbells. The hotel is right beside a Costco which is convenient. It may be a little awkward to get to as the road turns right where the entrance to the hotel is.

Somehow was booked for the wrong date. Called to have it corrected. Needed to call three separate times trying both their reservation and general extensions before reaching someone. They dont have voicemail so I had to try at various times throughout the day. The would not change my reservation or cancel.

Abyssmal customer service.

No house keeping…. At 4 pm house keeper knocked the door and asks if I need anything, I mean this is a hotel not a hostel that u ask if I need anything, rooms should b ready in the afternoon…
And air conditioner was sooo noisy.and the shower doesn’t have the pressure and hot water.
No smart tv in the room.
Just one star is for the location.

Rooms are nice, this was my 2nd stay in couple years.
However this time, ac was not functional and shower had water leak. Service was great at front desk. I still prefer to live at this place as rooms are clean and tidy

Great breakfast restaurant attached, definitely try the Cajun Benedict Skillet

Nice rooms, clean building, very friendly staff. Hot tub, pool, and sauna are all great as well.

Small gym, but still decent.

Multiple grocery stores close, a plaza with many stores, and a couple fast food places, all within a very short walking distance.

What a lovely place to say. A measure of the quality of a hotel (and its guests, honestly) is the engagement with staff from desk to housekeeping. Everyone had a smile and a kind word. Loved it!

Very disappointed with our experience here. It was expensive (over $300 per night once all the "fees" were added up) with limited service. They cheap out by having no room cleaning during your stay. Make your own bed, have to ask at the front desk for towels? No room service and no breakfast included. Even the cheap hotels in the last 20 years have some kind of continental breakfast included with your stay. At least I learned to ask if we have to clean our own room when I book a hotel from now on.

Our room was changed from two queen beds to king which they said was an upgrade, but we found the room to actually smaller. Also it was right next ti ice machine which was loud when someone using it at night. The refrigerator inside our suite was also loud and might need change or repair. Carpet not the cleanest. Service was good otherwise.

I rate them 3.5 and that's for their overall cleanliness across the Hotel. Rooms I would say they are nice but there's no option for you to attach ur phone to TV.
For their GYM, well I would say okayish as lots of dumbbell weights pairs are missing, due for a change.
I asked 3 times at front desk to change the empty water bottle but no answer though everytime they gave me couple of small water bottles.

It was an amazing stay, we got there and my husband had some reservations about the location and room, immediately.the staff made all the necessary changes and made sure we were very comfortable. I must say, the staff at Four points are highly professional and also very empathetic towards their clients, from the phone call for booking the stay, to our arrival and leaving of the hotel, their attitude and care towards us was top notch and I assume it's same to all their clients. I really appreciate everyone of them and my family and I are definitely going to visit again. Thanks Steve, Albert, Malcolm and Helizama, you guys were amazing.

Staff are very kind and helpful but obviously understaffed. Only 1 was working; she was doing front desk, procuring room service request and other services. There were also no towels available when we went swimming. We had to use our limited room towels (2 towels for 4 people) to wipe up. Aside from that, our stay has been good. Room was clean when we first came in, everything works and we love the heated pool! Will be back.

Book a room, check in is 3. Arrive at 6: 15 rooms not ready. Waiting until 7 still not ready. Not sure why I have to pay for a day when I can’t use the room …. Best part was manager offering voucher for breakfast and not following through. Gets better every minute

Best staff ever! Wrote a long review for Marriott. This is a three star (posted) hotel with 5 star service. Only compliant is the breakfast hours need to be later into the morning for those of us who like to sleep in!

I was looking to book a corporate meeting at this hotel. I left at least four messages for the sales manager, Malcom, and received no response. I also submitted the online RFP form and received no response. I tried to contact a duty manager at the hotel and was told by the receptionist that there was no manager on duty. I left a message for the manager and received no response. I am a Bonvoy Titanium member and place a lot of business with Marriott properties across the country and have never experienced this total lack of response. I know that this hotel property is a franchise but lodged a complaint with Marriott HQ anyway. If you're looking to plan an event in the Victoria area I would avoid this hotel.

Cleaning problems and annoyances with the manager. When I returned to my room, it was not clean since this service is performed every 3 days. They say that due to covid they clean the room less, to avoid contact. They are clearly stingy because covid is fought cleanly. To solve the problem, the manager came, who was extremely rude, he took me to a private room so that the rest of the guests would not find out about the problem. The conversation was awkward, and with my poor English, I almost had to beg for a solution. At times I was speechless, and the manager offended me because he was staring at him. I felt discriminated against because I am from Latin America and do not speak the language, and the manager does not offer a satisfactory solution and escalate the problem to an even more unpleasant situation. Finally they offer a discount in the rate in a bad way, and I was left with the trouble of having a hard time. I strongly discourage you to stay here. I have stayed in hundreds of hotels, and I assure you, this is not a Four Points by Sheraton.

Friendly staff.checked in late, and they offered a free late checkout. Would definitely stay again.

Appreciate the care in accommodating my service animals. All the hotel staff was kind. Dwane took the time to let me know when the pool was available when it was booked previously which was kind of him.

Cannot really fault the facilities in any way, but the location makes this hotel horrendous. Costco workers blare the horns on the forklifts into the late night and start early morning, 3: 30 a.m. Wake up call. And if you manage to sleep through that the active quarry across and that starts up at 7: 30 on a Saturday. But the facilities were fairly decent

If bathroom mold, dated rooms and non-stop construction right outside your room are your thing, stay here. If not, best look elsewhere.

This is our go to hotel when we are on the island. Typically it is great service but we were a bit disappointed this time around. We were initially greeted with a "yes? " rather than a "hello" and when we asked if their pool was open we were told yes from 12-8pm (which is true.) - we went to Walmart and bought bathing suits, came back got ready and asked for towels for the pool - we were told that we need to book a time and they were fully booked for the day and closed the next day. I understand there are protocols in place and we appreciate those however more information would have been great.

I've visited Victoria alot, and stayed at 4 or 5 high end Hotels, and this hotel is hands down the BEST Hotel in Victoria. My wife and I always stay in the jetted tub rooms, they are amazing. This place is a hidden gem. The politeness and service quality of the staff is off the chart. I've been to alot of upscale Hotels and this place is amazing. Highly recommend this hotel if your visiting Victoria. This is now the only Hotel we stay at when we visit Victoria.

This was a great value for the money even though the COVID19 adjustments has loses thier food and beverages. The hotel is bright and clean and the staff extremely accommodating and friendly. My only request would be to extend wifi beyond members and add a blanket in the closet, which might also be a COVID19 adjustment. I'd definitely stay there again.

Booked a king room far in advance, arrived and we were one of the only cars in the hotel, the hotel was a ghost town. Yet they didn't have a king room available for us.
