I came in with really no knowledge of what needed to be maintenance for my rings; other than that I knew a prong on 2 rings didn’t sit right. Ms. Yu helped me by analyzing all 3 rings I brought in, told me that the prongs needed to be tightened, told me 1 ring didn’t need any work, and cleaned my rings. She was extremely knowledgeable and answered all my questions. The work done on my rings was completed within a day (4 hours). I would absolutely come in again. The price was also reasonable.

Francis jewellers repaired my necklace and provided advice and cleaning for older jewelry. Every one was very helpful and results were great.

After having an awful 1 year long experience with Paul Mara where they couldn’t get my ring repair correct and left me with an engagement ring that was not right after five remakes (even though they built my ring initially), I took my ring to Francis. Francis Jewellers has provided terrific jewellery & watch services since we moved to Victoria 10 years ago. They are friendly, prompt & knowledgeable. They have made custom pieces for us, which are gorgeous. Karen & Emma are wonderful!

My husband had an engagement ring designed and made by Francis Jewellers. The initial experience was quite good. The staff were friendly, and we were very happy with the appearance of the ring. My husband used family diamonds which made the ring incredibly sentimental. After only 6 months of having the ring, the setting bent sideways. I work in education and am not “hard” on my jewelry. We brought it back to be told we would have to pay for the cost of the repair which was very disappointing and showed they do not stand by their products. After much discussion, they agreed to repair our ring, but it very quickly bent out of place again. We have since found another goldsmith who informed us in over 20 years in this profession, they have never seen anything like it, let alone twice. It was very disappointing to invest so much money and trust into Francis Jewellers to have something so unfortunate occur with no restitution, apology, or understanding.

We recently worked with Carly and Rafal to design my engagement ring. They were so wonderful to work with. They took my design and honoured my requests as well as educated me on options and concepts that i had not thought of to make the ring even more beautiful, comfortable and long lasting. I had an engagement ring made at Francis Jewellers by Rafal. My fiancée loves the ring! We went to get the ring resized and asked to have the band texture changed a bit and Rafal made the ring exactly how she wanted it. We absolutely love it, thank you!

I had a stone replaced in my ring and Mr. Zebrowski did an amazing job. Very knowledgeable and helpful, more than satisfied.

The new owner Rafal attempted to scam me. I had a vintage datejust serviced with crystal replacement. He charged me a quite high Price @ 700, but I thought it was easier than taking to Vancouver so figured ok sure. I receive it back 6 weeks later with a crooked crystal. I also noticed it doesn't look like an authentic Rolex but rather the knockoff aftermarket crystal. He assured me it was real, and was made by a company called GS. I then researched GS and discovered Gs crystals are the cheap knockoff aftermarket ones. I told him I know what's he's attempted to do, and he told me we will fix it for you. Gave him the watch for another 6 weeks, and he got the real Rolex crystal on. But wouldn't refund me for service. With all considered, that's the least he could have done. He almost got away with the scam, and he now is going to destroy the reputation of a 100 year old historical Victorian neighbourhood legacy
. UPDATE: the owner is accusing me of extortion because I want a refund and has contacted the police, I have been in touch with the police to provide the emails that show he is in the wrong and him admitting fault.

I have been dealing with Francis Jewellers since 1977. Things have changed a lot and Mr. Francis is gone.

I had the need to go in to Francis Jewellers to have a small stone replaced for a ring I bought elsewhere. As it turns out, the setting needed to be repaired. Seeing this as an opportunity for change, I spoke to Rafel about creating a new one from my diamond ring and wedding band and my moms which I had recently inherited. Together we came up with a general plan and Rafel got an understanding for what my tastes were and how important it was to me. Today I received a call that the creation was almost ready. When I saw it I was elated beyond my expectations. Rafel created something absolutely stunning. I wear a beautiful reminder of loved ones lost with something that will be in my family for generations to come.

Other stores seemed only focused on making a sale and getting our business. At Francis Jewellers we worked with Karen. She was very easy to work with and had great communication throughout the process. We were educated on the type of gem/metal we were interested in. We were given all of our options without any pushy sales tactics. They are very flexible in being able to create the design you have in mind. We ended up bringing in our own design inspiration and some sentimental jewellry we wanted to be incorporated into the ring. The goldsmith was able to do this perfectly for us. Francis Jewellers made us the most beautiful custom engagement ring that matches our design perfectly and includes our family gold. This process was so easy and done with care. I have gotten so many compliments on my ring, even from complete strangers, after only having it for 2 months now. We recommend this jeweller to anyone. I phoned in the most devastated state desperately looking for help to fix a previous jewellers mistake, and they both welcomed me with open arms and reassured me i was in great hands. I recently had an engagement ring made for my now fiancé. I looked at multiple jewellers and none of them could make what I wanted, in house and locally, accept for Francis Jewellers. I could not have asked for better service or quality. Francis Jewellers (Carly in particular) offered guidance and advise that ultimately made the perfect ring and it was more than I could have asked for. They are currently making our wedding bands, we had a sneak peek and they are exactly as we described and wanted! We would both highly recommend Francis Jewellers, and already have several times. The original design of my wedding band was causing irritation on my finger when I wore it. The team here remodelled the inside beautifully, looks like this is the way the ring should have come, and I can now wear my wedding ring again full time! Very happy with the service and quick turnaround.

After having had bought many pieces of from the collection of “fine” jewelry from Hudson’s Bay, it soon became apparent how poorly designed items were and the short cuts that were taken; backings and clasps began to break off. Now I have a “collection”of broken pieces that I have begun to bring into Francis Jewelers for repair.

They are indeed pricey, however, they honor their quotes and they do a superb job in a timely fashion.

I put my engagement ring into be resized. The first time I got it back, they had added gold to my ring without informing me they were doing that and they changed the one side of the design on the ring. The lady told me I was wrong about them doing that on the phone. Then I discovered that the ring was showing the crack where they resized the ring. I brought it back down and she apologized and said I was right, that yes they did that and they would fix the crack. I went back to pick ring up and could still see the crack on through the ring. It was left again to be repaired and then they phoned me. The lady said she looked at it and said I would be happy as it was fixed. I saw it and you can still see the crack on the outside. I am beyond done with this company. It is the shoddiest workmanship I have ever seen and all they can say is that it was probably the original gold in the ring and they have been in business for 25 years. Terrible customer service. Would not send my worst enemy to this store.

Friendly and helpful staff plus excellent quality. I'm really happy with the ring they custom made for my husband, we showed them what we wanted and it turned out better than we had hoped! They also repaired my grandma's ring that was worn down to nothing and built it back up.

The service at Francis Jewellers is amazing. Brought in a watch to have links added and they did it on the spot, while also offering me a free ring cleaning. They also have an amazing collection of jewelry and many unique items in stock. We will definitely be back in the future!

They just rebuilt a ring for me which Birks told me was beyond repair - and they did the most amazing job - all their work is in house - not sent away - I took in four pieces that needed repairs and it only took ten days before I had them all back - great job - nice people to deal with.

Had the absolute worst experience here. I had my pendant polished off and it came back missing 2 grams of gold. On top of that I dropped off a gold ring and some gems to have it smelted and crafted into a custom ring, they never got back to me then I saw on my receipt anything left longer than 6-8 weeks is kept by them. Francis Jewellers has repaired a couple of pieces of jewellery and recently made a beautiful necklace bail for a pendant.
I would highly recommend them for jewellery repair and cleaning.

I booked a free assessment and service on my breitling navitimer. A week later I received a quote for $900. This is in line with the authorized breitling service which runs approx $800. The discouraging thing is this: when I asked for an itemized estimate breakdown of parts and labor, I was told that the estimate is based on experience and that the store did not provide written estimates. Odd? Both the store and I agreed that the estimate would include labor and materials/parts however they where unable.uhmm.unwilling to provide the breakdown. More frustrating, when I attempted to ask to potentially communicate with the watchsmith / technician. I was told that he doesn't speak to the clients. Shocking. A $900 service on a $8K watch and no one seems to be able to answer or quantify a simple request. I collected my watch w/o service a week later and will have it looked after at the authorized dealer. Absolutley astounding how poorly this simple event unfolded. Buyer beware.

Rafal and his team at Francis designed my wedding band and engagement ring from my Husbands scribble sketch. It is a gorgeous ring and I cannot imagine any other ring. Their attention to detail is phenomenal and the customer service is amazing. When I went in to design my husbands wedding band, I originally came in with a design in my head and when I discussed my design ideas to Rafal, he (thankfully) convinced me out of the original design because it was impractical and busy. Together, Rafal helped me design a new ring and I am so much happier with the design! I cannot imagine any other design and my Husband is in love with his ring. Highly recommend Francis Jewellers. They provide phenomenal service and can take your ideas and turn it into reality. Very knowledgable and kind people!

I had an exceptional experience here. I went in to have a piece commissioned using my grandma (in law) 's jewelry. It was important to me that I utilized as much of her jewelry as possible within my ring and other jewelers kept trying to upsell me on other gemstones and gold saying that hers wasn't good enough. This was really discouraging as that was the whole point of having a ring made; it was meant to be an engagement ring but we wanted it to be really sentimental.
I went in and spoke to Emma who said it was definitely okay to use all of the gems and the gold that we brought in. I never felt like they tried to persuade me one way or another with any of my choices. They were extremely professional and obviously had a lot of expertise.
The ring was ready within two weeks. When we went in it wasn't exactly my vision and was slightly too large but they said "no problem" and took it back to make a few adjustments. They phoned me LESS THAN 24 HOURS LATER! When I went in this time it was absolutely perfect and they charged us exactly what they quoted us.
Rafel oversaw this piece and we dealt with him alongside Emma and the two of them were so professional and kind and obviously extremely good at what they do. I have large knuckles but tiny fingers and they knew exactly how to deal with that.
They were easy to communicate with, kind, efficient, expert in their craft and I couldn't say enough good things about them. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to have a piece done.

UPDATE: After posting my original review they invited me to call the store; they explained the cost of the service and worked with me to ensure that I was satisfied. I was pleased with this response, and have no hesitation to bring watches in for service in the future. Once again, they have the best selection of vintage and used watches that I've seen.

ORIGINAL: Similar to the review someone else posted, I would strongly recommend getting a firm quote on any service. I brought a watch in to get sized, and for the 2-5 minutes of work to remove a link, I got charged $30 (without being told beforehand). Many places will charge a third of that (sometimes nothing at all). They have an amazing selection of vintage watches, and it would be great if they were the local hub for the watch community (like Roldorf and co.in Vancouver) but given their practices I don't see that happening.

Rafal was exceptional in assisting us with an insurance claim that resulted from the loss of the diamond in my wife's wedding ring. He was prompt and caring in his responses to our phone calls and emails. The insurance replacement estimate was completed in a prompt and professional manner. As a result, we experienced smooth sailing with our insurance company and their adjustor. Rafal is a creative and gifted gemologist. He created several exciting options for us to consider for the repair/redesign of the ring including photos, prices and his expert opinion. The FW Francis goldsmiths refurbished/redesigned the ring in a timely manner. The finished result is simply gorgeous.with lots of oomph!

They are amazing. I don't know the name of the lady that was helping me, but she was so receptive and helpful.

In the end of May I was getting a bracelet engraved with geo-coordiates for my girlfriend. I asked to remove the degrees symbol but not the periods.in my rush there must have been some miscommunication (I was on my lunch break and needed to get back) and the periods were removed too.
When I picked up the bracelet, I noticed this and was a little bummed. The clerked asked if it turned out alright, and I said yes (y'know cause I'm Canadian and polite, but mostly because whatever was engraved is already there and I can deal with it). Well the clerk noticed and double checked with me. I let her know about the periods and she gave me a discount.

That clerk was so amazing by double checking in with me. She deserves some praise, and the engraving looks very beautiful.

I had the best experience with Francis Jewellers! I had bought a watch for my anniversary and I had decided to get it engraved. I called around to a few other places and they said the wait for engraving was about 2 weeks! My anniversary was only 7 days away and I didn’t have that much time to spare due to my poor time management skills. I ended up calling Francis Jewellers and explained my situation and they explained their wait for engraving was 2 business days. I was so relieved! I went and dropped the watch off and everyone was so kind, I felt confident that my present was in good hands. Even better, the next day I received a call letting me know my watch was ready to be picked up! Not even 24 hours later and it was done. Great price and an amazing job. Thank you so much!

My husband surprised me with an extraordinary pair of sterling and amber earrings from Francis Jewellers this past Christmas. These heirloom quality earrings were created in the shop itself and are a unique design executed with flawless craftsmanship. A reluctant shopper, he was welcomed with warm, attentive customer service, a rarity in retail shopping nowadays. It is apparent why Francis Jewellers has been in business since 1921; and I am pleased to highly recommend this elegant jewelry shop in Victoria, BC.

Good inventory of used watches. Lady at the store was friendly and greeted me. However the older gentleman was not. I'm sure he is knowledgeable but i got the feeling he did not want to help me/ take me seriously in purchasing a used rolex or tudor perhaps because I'm a younger female. Won't be going back. Don't recommend. Go to Lugaro. They treated me extremely well.

I had my grandmothers ring refurbished when I proposed to my wife here. Not only did they do a fantastic job at a fair price, they had it done in only a few days. Will be using them for all of my our jewelry from here forward!

Francis Jewelers sound like they are pretty good from the reviews, but make sure you get a firm quote! Took my dog's tag in to get re-engraved and asked how much it would cost. Was told "Not sure, but don't worry it will be cheap.engraving doesn't cost much". Returned 2 days later to pick up the tag and was told the cost was $89 + tax (that's over $7/letter). At first I thought I had misheard the sales person so asked again. She looked a little sheepish when she repeated $89. I told her that I had been told it would be cheap so I figured in the $10-$15 range. She went and spoke with the guy that had given me the "it will be cheap" line and came back and proudly announced they would give me a deal. "$50, all in". I told her I hadn't paid more than $15 for the tag (engraved) when I bought it new. She apologized but didn't move on the price. So I said the tag is yours now and left. Was trying to support a local business by having the old tag re-engraved. Now will just have to order a new tag.
