French Creek Social Hall

Have been here a few times and mostly leave disappointed. New menu is not the best and is expensive. Have had the jamalaya, chicken Alfredo, fish and chips, and chicken burger. Everything seems to be generic sysco frozen food. Only redeeming factor is the beer prices and entertainment.

Food was good. Service was not great. He Forgot our order, didn’t apologize - offered us a glass of water as we waited an Extra 30 mins for our food.

Beautiful spot. Got to look out at harbour boats from our spot. Had the fish and chips which were phenomenal! Big piece of fish, and plenty of fries. The staff were amicable and prompt with service. The menu looked good! Would recommend as a family friendly pub to go to

Went there on a long weekend Sunday, only one server working and she (Sara) did an amazing job and deserves more than 5 stars for that! Fast, friendly service.
I had the Halibut burger (was a special) was delicious! Best one have had yet at any restaurant
Husband had lobster rolls, which were also delicious! Awesome crispy fried too.

Had a lovely dinner to my self at French creek sat at the bar with some regulars who have great banter when the hockey game is on. The wait staff is amazing the man behind the bar is very tentative and easy to talk with. I ordered the Kung pao shrimp definitely recommend it had heat to it but you could still taste sesame and sweetness in the sauce. For my main I got the asiago chicken burger the chicken is very juicy and well breaded and I believe the sauce is house made and is delicious. Tater tots where crispy and all the food was fast and supper hot coming out. I got a Long Island layered because that’s how the bar tender prefers them made it was delightful and I would recommend.

Had the fish and chips three times during the month we spent in the area … we were not disappointed… done to perfection, see you next year!

Ignor the bad reviews! We went there for lunch today and were hesitant due to the reviews boy were we wrong. The service was amazing. We had the fish and chips (one large piece cod fries and slaw $20.00) it was the best we've had in oceanside. It even comes with house made tarter and a char /grilled lemon. The music was at a tolerable background volume that made it easy to chat. Our server was really nice too. A great local pub feel.

We ordered takeout and were blown away. The food was perfect. Hot and fresh and delicious. The grilled lemons were a beautiful touch! Well done FCSC! Thank you

Back even better! An Oceanside tradition, the French Creek Social Hall delivers the friendly service and warm hospitality we came to expect from the Pub, plus some excellent menu additions. Try the Jambalaya for a true taste sensation.

Staff was ok pub was dead though not a soul in sight. Ordered chicken burger with tots and large Caesar $36 dollars and well the pics say it all. Lettuce looked moldy and wilty so small and flavorless. My hubby did however find the burger very flavourful. He enjoyed the burger but that's it. And $15 for that Caesar salad? I could've got 3 pizzas for the price of this meal that I split with my hubby. We live in the area and I definitely will NOT be back. Which is sad because we were looking for a new/ old place to hang out at again. Well I definitely wouldn't recommend.

We were great fans of the old French Creek! We have now moved close to the Pub and we’re excited to be regulars.
The new French Creek Social Club was disappointing and expensive. Limited menu and expensive. Staff was friendly and attentive.
A grilled cheese with seafood and tots was over $21 and the chicken burger (on what looked like a slider bun) with salad was $19. Very average food small portions.
Sadly we won’t go again!

A big fan of the old pub, thought we’d give it a shot with the new owners. Disappointed with the fish and chips and chicken wings and that they do not offer pitchers of beer anymore. Not sure if we will return.

Thought we'd try the new pub out since we always loved the previous French Creek Marina Pub. The renovations inside were nice and we had a pleasant waitress BUT.the menu is limited and very pricey. We only ordered french fries with our beer and waited 45 mins.to get them. Sorry new owners but this is not what locals in Parksville are expecting. We will not return at these prices. Maybe its time that we stayed home and enjoyed our Costco dry ribs and home fries etc. It seems days of eating out in pubs may be a thing of the past. At least for retired people.

Very good fish and chips. We had the halibut. Coleslaw was not good and doesn’t look like coleslaw.
