Popped in today and all we got was ready made food-onigiri, inari, and a poke bowl. All were very fresh and tasty and the staff were very good to us:) Will be back!

I come here to buy uni. The staff here is amazing. Very knowledgeable and always cheerful. You leave with a smile on your face. I recommend that you also try their smoke salmon and cod.

Fresh Ideas Start Here sells fresh and frozen sustainably caught seafood and the majority of their products are locally sourced. They have seafood that is raw and ready to cook as well as foods that have already been assembled and may just need a bit of time in the oven or on the stove before it's ready to eat. (eg. Crab Cakes, Truffle Spot Prawn Mac n Cheese)
To celebrate the launch of their fall seasonal menu, Fresh Ideas Start Here was offering a small bowl of complimentary seafood congee to the first 50 customers who came into their store and mentioned the word "halibut. " We'd never tried this seafood congee before, but apparently it's a "cult favourite" so we went to the store right when it opened and managed to bring home some of this famed seafood congee.
Oh wow! This seafood congee exceeded my expectations. I totally understand now why it's a cult favourite. It was packed with seafood. They don't skimp on ingredients at this place. According to the stickers stuck onto our containers, a small congee is normally $6 and a large congee is normally $8. I would absolutely go back and pay to have this seafood congee again! I'm so happy that it's Fall now. With hot summer days leaving, and cooler weather arriving, we should definitely have a reason to go back for the seafood congee!

Great quality seafood products, very good service. Especially their manager Jordan, he is very knowledgeable, helpful, shares tips and recipes. He goes above and beyond to accommodate special requests.

#1 For $17, their "regular size" bowl is 30% smaller than that of Pokeritto.
#2 I requested white rice; the clerk tried to scoop up LEFT OVER white rice AND brown rice from the containers. As a result, my rice was cold.
#3 Their negitoro doesn't have onion. WOW. Where's the negi (green onion then) ?
#4 The portion of fish they give you is absolutely pathetic. If you could get over that, the quality of the fish is equally terrible. My salmon has tendon textures in it. Clearly they are using off-cuts from fish fillets.
Will NEVER visit this place again.

Coming here for Poke is a treat for me… it’s always fresh. However on today’s visit I noticed they had raised the price from $16.00 to $20.00 for a large bowl.
But the service is always consistent and the two gentlemen working today (April 13,2023) were very polite and friendly!
I will return when it’s time for another treat.

Horrible experience:
- didn't receive my order was in "shipping" status for over a month
- told me my order was delivered which is was not, no coordination from the seller on delivery (they state you need to be present for delivery which I was not)
- offered a $20 discount on a new order after all of this

Bought some halibut for dinner seems they were from small fish compared to what we got and should be tasty for dinner.

Great local product / selections, always fresh with knowledgeable staff. Forgot my wallet there today, they secured it and held until I could pick it up. Trustworthy, good people.
