Fujiya Foods - Richmond

Please steer clear of any product that says MADE IN CHINA as they may look and feel it is from Japan.

The store opens quite late (1030am), inconveniently late, wanted some take out sushi, end up having waited almost half an hour in a long line within the store while the staff leisurely stack their stock like Tetris in the cooler. Fujiya is not a place I will ever want to go again.

I love the food here I come for lunch and snacks and the food is yummy and the aunties are nice: 3c

So messy, a lot of empty boxes on the floor, a lot of empty shelves, look like they are packing and moving.

Always Love their O-Bento Dishes that are delivered to the Volunteers on set up day at the Powell Street Festival.

Used to be a great place for affordable sushi. Prices have been increasing way out pacing inflation and now it’s just the same price as made to order sushi at restaurants. Lost me as a customer that’s for sure. Stay clear

Small Japanese grocery chain know for its takeout bento, makimono, donburi. Though appears to have fewer selection than the downtown Vancouver location. Small interior, narrow aisles. Free outdoor plaza parkade.

Has a decent amount of Japanese products. Nice little store if you need to quickly pick something up.

Was skeptical with the frozen ramen they sell but i tried it and its a miracle. Better than ramen from an average restaurant for sure.plus i put in an extra other noodle and so its super cost effective at the end.

All prices listed are expensive, yet the expiry date ahead soon. Not impressed. They charge for NON-handles paper bag for 15 cents, thanks for that I needed to walk and carry back with my two hands in windy day. Please provide bags with handle for customer convenience! Not everyone drive.

Very good value but you may want to get there as close to opening as possible as the food options run out quickly.

Picked up today at 1130am. Little disappointed as the Cali rolls avocado was rotting already. Didn't see this till I opened up the box. So watch out for the avocado.

Love it. Super friendly staff and wicked prices on awesome sushi. I wish they had mayo free California rolls though! Hint hint:)

I love coming here for their lunch take outs. Large variety of foods. It's also great for their Japanese grocery products.

Little outlet store for Fujiya with the main one in Vancouver. Only problem selections of sushi and prepackaged fresh daily foods early but they have sauces spices and ingredients for making Japanese style foods

Not much selections on fresh sushi, I like the store in Vancouver instead, they're freshly made sushi, more choices for Japanese products. The good thing was I found parking spot easily here in Richmond, while in Vancouver you have to wait and be patient because of limited and tight parking space.

Low prices, good food, what more could you ask for? Also good selection of products for the size of the store.

Normally I'm a fan of Fujiya, but this branch is very small so I think they produce less and have less customers. What I'm getting at is the sushi I got tasted like it could have been made the day before. Not a huge selection of pre made foods but a wide variety of packaged Asian foods

So I was asking the counter how is the quality of the Matcha.
One blurted out "not good", and then the other quickly interrupted and said "very good, ceremonial"
Came home, tried it immediately and it was the disgusting low quality ones.
Now I have 400g of garbage tea in my cupboard and $23 short. Gave them an opportunity to respond honestly.
Should have listened to the honest one, props to you.
I don't understand why a supposed authentic Japanese grocery store is carrying low quality Matcha when the Chinese groceries are carrying higher grades. Customer going into a Japanese grocery expects higher quality. But why do you source low quality Matcha and the Chinese grocery carry high quality? That's Absurd.

Great place for japanese grocery with fair price. Some take out sushi available, but not many choices of sashimi.

I show up at both locations the one in Richmond and the one on Clark dr.and
Venables, great for fast Japanese food, handy for a great large variety of reasonably priced sushi and Asian food. Both locations are popular so get there early so there's still a good selection.

I had never been before so had high hopes, but it was quite small inside. Still picked up a few things, but wish they had more space.

Great tasting Japanese fast food bento boxes and bowls. But prices are now inching toward AYCE territory for lunch if your appetite needs more than one dish. Service is becoming a bit friendlier with the addition of newer staff. Lots of items you cannot get at a regular Asian specialty store.

This place has good premade sushi at a cheap price. I go here when in a hurry and need a quick bite. The price is right if on a takeout budget

Been neighbor with them for many years now. They are very nice people. They have all the healthy tasty Japanese food.
