My go-to for takeout sashimi and sushi for lunch Consistently good, always busy and sold out for a reason. The loveliest staff too

I usually come here to pick up a few lunch items and go but as I haven't been here for awhile I thought I would try it again. Unfortunately the quality is no longer as good as it used to be and the prices have also been raised a bit. They are still very generous with their portions but it just doesn't taste as good as before. The sushi is more sloppily made now and the taste isn't the same as before.

Website isnt the best, wont allow me to have order delivered today (must be tomorrow atleast) and when attempting to submit my information the form does not submit or give errors on why it wont submit. Tested on mac and mobile. Using skipthedishes and another sushi place instead. Disappointing as the food is really good.

Simple Japanese grocer with mostly a focus on lunches at this downtown location. Sushi rolls, bentos, and donburis. All pretty reasonable. Stock does go quickly during the working days though if you have specific selections you want.

Pretty much a timeless location in the downtown core. It's only goal is to serve the lunch rush crowd and it does this well by offer fast premade sushi and bentos ranging from 3-12 dollars. Have frequently come here across the last decade and I think the only things that have changed is the grey in my hair and minimal appreciation in price. If you've had premade and mass produced sushi, you know what your getting here, it's not ultra high end, but neither is the price, and the sheer velocity of stock means there product does not get stale here.

TLDR summary - come for fast self service lunch, or if you are cosplaying a sarariman in downtown Vancouver

I dig the Sunomonu salad and $3 California rolls, and red bean buns, mmmmm. Pick up some frozen dumplings while you're there.

I am 99% sure I had day old sushi in the middle of the day here. If I wanted that I would have gone to a grocery store.

Fujiya offers inexpensive sushi options. The food is definitely mass-produced, but I think it is fresh daily. It is not fancy in any way and prepackaged, but that does make it easy to mix and match to get what you want. They also offer a lot of specialty Japanese food. You can get some great, filling options for less than $10. This particular location is very busy at lunch time, so expect a line-up (although they have a great system for moving people along, so even big lines only take about 5 minutes to get through) and if you are a bit later, the selection may be poor.

Small grocery shop whose main draw is their to-go food items. Quite affordable for downtown. They have 2.95 california rolls, sushi and sashimi, and bentos that range from ~7-12 dollars. Quality is actually sometimes better than going to your average sushi places downtown.

So happy to find Fujiya tucked in between office buildings downtown. There is microwave provided to heat up food. Hot tea served with meals!
