I asked the staff at FYI Duncan location if they could pop out the lenses of a pair, that I broke, and put into an identical frame. They replaced while I waited. No charge, as they had previously made theses lenses for me a year ago. Fantastic service, very pleased

I have been going to Fyi doctors for over twenty years they have never disappointed me. I never have to wait for my appointment they are always on time and my questions are always answered. Nicki Friesen the Optical Dispenser is fabulous she always goes above and beyond for her patients. Nicki is always kind, prompt and very knowledgeable. Nicki never makes me feel rushed and always has time for her patience and knows her job very well. I highly recommend fyi doctors to care for your eyes. Go see Nicki and the team they are great.

I didn't see the optometrists, but the reception and sales staff who helped find glasses for my mom during a difficult time (dementia) were excellent. Friendly, compassionate and really helped guide decisions so my mom not only looks good in her new glasses but is back observing the world. Many thanks again.

FYiDoctors has the best customer care I have ever experienced. They went above and beyond to help meet my needs for new contacts when my current contacts from another provider was damaged. I would highly recommend everyone on the Island to come here for their eye care needs.

I am not happy about having to pay 200.00 for a eye exam and then having to pay another 200.00 to find out what type of contacts i need. My Daughter Found that all out in one apointment at her optomatrest and only had to pay for one exame.

I haven’t been here in years as I moved out of town, but I walked in and it felt like I have never left. The ladies in there are the best in the business. They are super helpful, always gleaming with smiles, and have an undeniable love for timbits! Thank you so much for being flexible and helping me in a jam!

The staff at FYidoctors recently recommended I try the Precision daily contacts and WOW, I am really glad I did. No more buying contact solution! So easy for things like camping, you can just throw them away at night without having to deal with trying to keep them clean and sanitized. Very grateful for the staff's recommendation and I will definitely be buying these again.

Poor glass adjusting services. I don’t know if the glasses adjuster was a registered optician but she was useless at adjusting my frames. I have worn glasses for 30 years so have experienced quality service, and this was not that. I was picking up my glasses that were repaired and the frames were not new to me. The staff asked me how it felt and I said there is a lot of pressure on my nose. She proceeded to say we can change the nose on the glasses (plastic frames). I said I am not expecting you to replace the nose piece but I would like them adjusted so they feel comfortable. I explained how the arms on the frames (too tight or too loose or crooked) can affect pressure on the nose. She seemed like she didn’t understand this. She did not check the fit behind my ears. I found it very unprofessional and disappointing. Where do u find qualified people who adjust glasses properly in Cowichan? I don’t want headaches from poorly fitting glasses.

I’m not sure I can recommend them. 2 stars is generous and mainly for the frames than the service. It took 2 eye exams and eight, yes eight trips and 5 weeks for me to finally get glasses that were as good or slightly better than my old pair ($18 online readers). Despite them denying it, there was some serious up-selling going on. I needed a new pair of readers for computer work. Despite telling them this from the very start, they assured me I needed progre$$ive lenses. When I came back to pick them up, the range for my computer screen was the very bottom 5% of the lens and I had to tilt my head back at 45* to see the screen! Back I go and they change the lenses to a near vision progressive. They assured me they would be perfect for computer work and make it easier for me to see things in the distance. This next set was marginally better, with the useable part of the lens being the bottom 20%. Headaches and several days of trying to make them work, I went back and insisted on single vision. The only positive thing I can say is that the frames I picked out are very comfortable, and they refunded me about 70% of the original price due to my “downgraded” lenses. If you go here, don’t let them up-sell you on something you don’t need. I’ll be getting my next exam and prescription elsewhere.

I already gave a rave review for Dr. Inglis, who explained more to me about my eye issues during my examination than my ophthalmologist or surgeon ever did. I was very pleased with the bifocals you supplied at that time, and have been back twice since to buy a pair of straight readers and a pair of prescription sunglasses. Oh, and there was a repair that was done in minutes, too! Very happy with the friendly and prompt service and very pleased with all of my glasses!

As a long time patient here, I was extremely disappointed that after what I thought was a thorough eye exam, I found out from another optometrist (for a second opinion) that I have cataracts, and very progressive in my right eye. I was struggling in having clear vision after my exam and attaining new contacts following my visit (change in my prescription). After using up all the right lenses, and no change, I assumed I was either issued the wrong prescription or it was a factory defect. I made a 2nd appointment and returned for another consultation, a further eye exam and tests, and advised the prescription was correct. I was issued trial lenses for the same prescription, and my vision, especially in my right eye was still very blurry. Everyone can make errors, and and I totally realize these things happen. My only point in this review, is to ask that you review your process and consider including checking for cataracts as part of the overall full eye exam, regardless of age. Although I was told for my age (59), it's not common to have cataracts, it obviously can and does happen. Thanks for taking the time to read my comments.

Excellent customer service and very knowledgeable doctors. Highly recommend coming here for all your eye care needs. Bought eye glasses here too and the staff was very helpful and patient.

This was my first experience with an optometrist and I wish all my medical appointments went so well! The staff were warm and professional and the care I received was far beyond my expectations. Needing glasses was an unplanned expense made much easier by the great folks at FYI.

Really helpful, friendly and knowledgeable staff. I found myself unable to afford what I wanted with a suprise of my coverage not supporting direct billing. They worked hard with me and for me to get me what I wanted at a price that worked for me, very happy with the product and the service. I will be going here from now on.
