GA Checkpoint Yamaha & Marine

Went to buy a boat with my son and we were successful in finding the one we wanted with the help of Lee Fetterly. He was very helpful and answered all of our questions. We would definitely recommend buying a boat from GA Checkpoint to all our family and friends. Very positive experience-

Poor customer service/sales team. I called around in the morning to find the best price for an ATV that we wanted. Being in the vehicle industry, we are aware of when we are getting ripped off. They brought the price down on a Yamaha Raptor 50 by $500 but then proceeded to tack on almost $1500 in fees/tax. So, close to $4k after everything. I said the fees that they tacked on were ridiculous and explained why I thought so. Long story short, the phone call ended with "I guess we can't do business with you then. " Guess not because I went another dealership in Langley and bought the exact same model (they had multiple in stock too) the same day for $3600. Be aware of all the extra fees they add. They are not very reasonable in comparison.

110$ for a tube and to get a tire mounted almost double what I payed else where won’t be coming back. Almost had to tell em to take the tire back off.

Called in to Nic in parts to look for an aftermarket part. I had a part number that was believed to be carried by there suppliers. I was spoke to very rudely. And I never received a follow up call.

Sales went downhill after manager ED left the place.
Update to my 1 star review. 5 stars for Matt at parts/service counter. This review is for sales part of dealership. Brought my friend to buy used Tenere 1200 or new one if he didn’t liked used one. Waited outside looking at the used motorcycle for about 15-20 minutes no one came out to help us or to show/start the bike. Went inside looked at the new Tenere for about 15-20 minutes, no one came to us to ask or help us. After 20 minutes when we about to leave sales person came to us and start asking what we are looking for, my friend explained his interest in used Tenere and that he wants to trade in his motorcycle, sales person seems to be very friendly and said that they will look into the trade value and will give best deal that they can do for the used tenere. (all this discussion happened at the entrance not at the desk). After about 2 minutes new manager rushed into conversation without even talking to sales person to know what she told us and scrapped everything she said to us. He said that the price is firm and he is not going to give any discounts or deals to my friend. We felt that he didn’t want our business at their dealership, didn’t even asked how we wanted to pay (friend wanted to pay with cash) even what offer he wants to give, very unprofessional in my opinion. The only reason I brought my friend to this dealership in because I always had a good service from old manager ED. After I left 1 star review manager called my after 2-3 days and said that he will lower the price for about 500-1000 even though he did not want to discuss anything at the dealership.

His response to my online parts request was immediate, he was able to source me the carburetor I needed in this broken supply chain we are in, I can't say much about the other dealers that offer the same online services. It was a great experience and I will definitely be optimizing GA checkpoint services for all of my future Yamaha parts needs.

Great service by Nick in parts. Two other Yamaha dealers on Vancouver Island could not bother getting back to me as I live on SaltSpring Island.
