Galaxy Cinemas Nanaimo

We went to see Priscilla on Saturday, Nov. 11. The theatre was so cold that my toes were getting numb by the end of the show.
Could not believe there was a $2.50 charge for “butter” on top of the exorbitant $7.75 for a small popcorn.

Needs a but better sound system, great staff and good popcorn. Good seats and great screen.

Was watching Killers Of The Flower Moon and towards the middle of the movie I started hearing a loud bass sound, like music. It started off somewhat quiet. I thought it may even be from the movie. But then it got louder.and louder.

Soon enough the movie was completely unwatchable it was so loud and disrupting. So I got up and down went to the next theatre (I was in theatre 1, went to theatre 2) and the Taylor swift movie was playing, and the bass was incredibly loud. Well that’s because the “movie” is basically just a concert. Which is fine, but the walls are thin at this theatre.

Bought a ticket and couldn’t make it through the whole movie because the Taylor swift movie was on next doors and I couldn’t hear anything. I want a refund.

I would only like to add that theater five needs to do something with their back row of seating

Clean and comfortable. Great chairs and sound is impeccable. Great theatre. One of the best on the island for sure.

Great place to see a film! The screen could be a tad larger, but overall I can't complain at all! And that's after Vancouver's 'whoop the do' theatres! We're lacking NOTHING!

Everything was good until we reached our seats. It was like flying business class as far as room and comfort.

Pin in the butt.tried to call them for reservation 7 days ahead from today.no answers.just a robot answering.and website.no option for a reservation to make 7 days from now.

Best seats in town for movies. Although they should have the numbers on the seats and not on the sides. People are dumb and don't know how to count to their seat properly. Easily avoided if they put it on the seat instead.

First time back into a packed theatre and not a mask in sight. Kinda nice to see life return to nrmal. The movie experience was so much better than pre-pandemic. Every seat in the house is a leather recliner with more head, shoulder, and leg room than I could have imagined. The Galaxy theatre hold about 100 people and as such, there doesn't appear to be a bad seat in the house. Great experience.

This is the worst cineplex I have ever been. They don’t have shows for some of the great movies such as Transformers and Indiana Jones. Been there twice, they have small screens which is not worth the price like other cineplexes. Also, they have only 1 universal restroom available after 8-9 pm which has a line up.

We returned and asked for fresh
They popped fresh on top of old cold pop in bin
We got ours delivered 15 minutes later
What took so long
Manager had to be confronted to get someone to fix, still not do proper

Instead of doing fresh every so often

And get sub par quality and service

Couldn't make the movie due to unforeseen circumstances. They were happy to refund our tickets without hesitation. Clean place with friendly staff.

My derriere prefers this type of theater experience. I watched the new Avatar movie recently and my buttocks didn't even notice the three hours of sitting. Much better experience than at the other movie theater in Nanaimo. Expensive snacks as usual, staff are pleasant and helpful. The washroom set-up is weird. The main washrooms are upstairs. The two accessible washrooms, on the main floor, do not have clear signage.

Best seating a theatee can have. Used to be the best in town. Now, it just has third-rate movies, no box office bangers, and movies most people won't be paying to see in theaters (save for a few golden ones). Usually, i would review this as higher, but I can not rate it better than 2 stars anymore, and that's only because of the seating.

There is young guy named Caleb he is so kind nd love his work ethics. Very polite helpful. His parents must be proud

Charge me 1.50$ per ticket extra to book online. I will try my best to never go to another galaxy due to this charge.

So amazing, me and my friend watched guardians of the galaxy 3, was very good. Comfy chairs and great food and drink options

We love this theatre but why are they not playing the newer films? My fiance and I want to watch the new Super Mario movie, however we're having to take our money elsewhere (at our less than ideal theatre) because it's unavailable here. We're quite disappointed.
