Gang Nam Korean BBQ

Plenty of tasty food for two in hot pot + bbq option that we got. The grill was slightly weak and meat took longer to cook but overall it was a very pleasant experience.

Small place, so recommend to plan your visit in advance and probably book a table. Tables aren’t very comfortable. Staff is friendly and grills are being changed constantly for sparkly clean ones. Food was ok, I have tried better Korean bbq places but this was pretty much ok.

Watch out for the bill. They put a 18% service fee for a group of 5 people and still pass the card machine asking for a tip. The waitress said nothing about it. Only found out after we left by checking the receipt.

Well, I've been here a good handful of times now. The staff is very welcoming and has been of great service each time I'm there for food. I highly recommend as the pricing is fair and the portions are just right, as a chef I really appreciate their quality of meat and their pork bone soup is on point!

Honestly this place is a gem. It’s a small place but the demand for it is high so I don’t recommend walking in and expecting a table, always make a reservation the day before if possible. The service has been exceptional every single time and it’s always been a clean and orderly establishment. It’s the perfect spot for a fun and intimate dinner with delicious Banchan. Definitely recommend the potato banchan.

Family dinner for four. Presented with a variety of delicious appies. Homemade kimchi, cabbage salad, sprouts, green bean salad. I could have made a meal, just from that! We all shared the stir-fried squid. Zowie, beautiful rich sauce with tender veggies. Onto the main courses. I ordered the Pork stone rice dish. Was told it was quite spicy, but I didn't find it so. Delicious! Served in a hot black bowl, with crunchy rice. My bro ordered the spicy beef soup, sooo good & on point. My husband ordered a large dish of beef, which you BBQ @ your table! Smokin cool & fun. We all thoroughly enjoyed Gang Nam & would return.

This was one of the least smokey Korean barbecue places I've ever. Excellent Service, excellent food.

I might not drive across town to eat here however it's a great barbecue place in Richmond.

Honestly if there was an option for 0 star i'll definitely rate 0. No matter how good the food is, the whole dinning experience was ruined by the waitress who kept collecting our plates and bowls with unfinished food without our consent. She took away our soup when we weren't noticing it and told us we didn't say no when she did that. How ridiculous. I thought affirmative consent is the only consent in 21st century. Hope she reads the comment and make some self-reflection on her attitude.

I walked in today around 6: 15 and the lady told us that there’s no table available for us and asked us to come back at 7: 15. I have double checked with her that we will be back at 7: 15 and she said yes before we left, which means that we do have a 7: 15 reservation now. When we came back to the restaurant at 7: 05 the lady said oh sorry she has canceled my reservation because I didn’t answer her phone. I understand that its my fault that didn’t pick up the phone cuz I’m driving, but it’s only 7: 05, I’m 10minutes earlier before the reservation. They do have a sign at the front desk which said they will keep the reservation table for 15minutes but they didn’t do that. I am really angry and feel that they didn’t respect the customer at all, don’t understand why can they canceled the reservation before time, it’s really really rude! Hope nothing like this happen again!

My partner and I went for dinner on a Saturday - reservation definitely needed. We shared a combo meal which came with an oxbone hotpot, a plate of bulgogi, tongue and ribs as well as some assorted banchan and rice. Great deal for the price and really deliciois meats and soup!
