Gardens of Gethsemani

The staff at Gardens of Gethsemani set up the site for the inurnment beautifully and then stayed close by, ready to help with any assistance, including helping my dad, recently widowed, who has mobility issues. They were in no rush for us to leave and made the time at the cemetery very peaceful and uplifting.

Gardens of Gethsemani Catholic Cementery was my choice after researching several cemeteries in the lower mainland. Having considered the quality, the location and the value of the price I pay, I decided with Garden of Gethsemani as my mother's final resting place. I think I made the right decision.

The most beautiful cemetery I have ever been to! The staff are caring, kind and made me feel welcome and supported.

This is a lovely cemetery. Lots of flowers and trees. Peaceful. A big pond and nice structures on acres of land. A few resident Canadian geese over the last few years. I have been coming here since 2000 and watched it develop with the addition of buildings and landscaping and new roads.

Mary was very helpful and caring during our saddest time when we lost our Mom. We were able to secure a lot at a beautiful spot in the Garden in a very short period of time. I purchased my spot too. My family flew in from different parts of the world to spend the last few days with my Mom. There was a small window of time before they had to fly back home and the Garden of Gethsemani was able to accommodate the burial service within the time frame. The Garden's staff takes such good care of the place. It is indeed a beautiful garden where I go every week to pray, chat and be in silence with my Mom. I see many families visiting regularly as well and they also gather around their loved ones to enjoy the peace this place brings. I appreciate they have a memorial mass on the last Sunday of every mass. I find it helps with healing. I am forever grateful to the staff at the Garden and to the Archdioceses of Vancouver for providing such a beautiful and affordable resting place to the faithful and their loved ones.

Our experience with Mary from pre-purchases to services at Gardens of Gethsemani was exceptional. Each time I visit the Gardens it is peaceful and striking as the grounds are always manicured and well kept. I highly recommend Gardens of Gethsemani.

The service was excellent. The people there are great and efficient even in a pandemic. I would highly recommend this cemetery.

The grounds were well maintained. The service advisor was caring, helpful and knowledgeable. Although, the location was far from where we live it was very serene and beautiful. Being Catholic we were happy that our loved one had his final resting place there.

Patti recently helped me make arrangements for my Dad. She answered all of my questions and was able to make suggestions that were just right for our family.

My experience with Gardens of Gethsemane have been entirely positive. At every step of the process, from our initial purchase of our grave-site to the burial of my beloved spouse Maria was entirely well done, and with the greatest amount of care and compassion. Their demeanor and their willingness to care for details is unsurpassed by any other encounter I had during this time of loss. Only Kearney Funeral homes reflected the same care and attention as the staff at Gethsemane gardens. I know when my time comes that my remains will be treated respectfully.

The staff members I dealt with are very knowledgeable, polite, caring and understanding the needs of families.

The grounds and facilities are well maintained and peaceful. All the staff, from groundskeepers to planning specialists, were friendly, compassionate, and respectful. They maintain the Catholic philosophy that ever person is loved by Jesus and treat the deceased with the appropriate reverence

We appreciated Patti Adams help in planning the funeral for our daughter. When a problem arose, she immediately contacted us and spent an additional 3 hours helping us to solve the problem without adding any additional stress to the situation.

Her grandmother is also buried at the Gardens of Gethsemani. We were pleased with the service when we buried her 10 years ago. The important things have not changed since her interment. We highly recommend this cemetery for your loved one.

I had often wanted to end my days at Gardens of Gethsemani, but for some time, I put it off. Finally, a death in my own family prompted me to take action and request a meeting. During and after the meeting, with a well qualified representative, I felt much better. I feel that by arranging a place for myself and others, my earthly remains are secure, in holy ground and a sign for those following us of what we all stood for when we lived.

I found the staff and support at Garden of Gethsemani warm and approachable. Even though I was late for my appointment, they were very gracious and understanding. I chose to walk around the cemetery (after completing a purchase of a cremation plot) and experienced the solemn peace in this wonderful place of final rest and comfort.

I just want to say thank you to Kenneth Deacon Fung our advisor who took me touring the Garden of Gethsemani where I decided to be the resting place of my husband. Kenneth is so helpful and caring of my family. The garden is beautiful, quiet, clean and tidy. The ground staffs are so nice and professional. I also need to thank Patti Adam who told me there's a Memorial Mass each month and provided me the link for the live stream during the Covid-19.

Starting the process of selecting a forever resting place for my husband and me at the Gardens of Gethsemani was a warm, "down to earth" experience, mixed with humour! We knew our budget and the consultant gave us the best advice. We are ready to buy our last piece of real estate!

Last year my father and I attended the Mass of All Souls at the beautiful Gardens in memory of my mother. While she is laid to rest at another cemetery close to our home in Vancouver, we were so happy to take the trip to the Gardens for this special Mass. The last time we were there was decades ago as one of my uncle's ashes is interred at the Gardens. We are blown away by the magnificence of the sprawling landscape and the new buildings. It was so peaceful in its grandeur. The serenity. The sacredness. We had arrived at dusk but what we saw was breathtaking. I can only imagine how this beauty supports families in healing their broken hearts.

I experienced warm, attentive and caring customer service the moment I stepped into Gardens of Gethsemani. The grounds are beautiful, peaceful and well-kept. The staff are faith-filled and are truly concerned about the spiritual welfare of the customers and not about making a sale. I highly recommend that you and your loved ones plan to visit this place.

The staff at Gardens of Gethsemani are kind, attentive and respectful in difficult times of mourning. The property is stunning and well maintained- the most beautiful I've seen anywhere. This is a wonderful faith centered resting place for loved ones. Highly recommend.

We waited for two years to decide where to get a burial plot that my family can afford and I am truly grateful for the discount last year and a monthly installment plan on the balance that made our purchase affordable. The advisor, Brenda Villaraza, helped us in making an informed decision as to the details of our decision. Because we were very satisfied, we right away recommended a family friend who also purchased a plot around the same time we did. People should really check out the Gardens of Gethsemani!

Excellent. Patient. Professional. Compassionate. And so much more. Every single staff member at Gardens was committed to helping our family after a sudden death of our loved one. They understood the difficulties of the decisions we had to make, and gave us the space to make decisions that were best for our family. The burial ceremony was done with the most beautiful respect for our grieving family. Looking back, we now share that priceless memory and remark at how well cared for we felt on that day. I am so grateful to know how deeply the staff care for the community when I go back and visit our family members grave. It is felt in the beautiful way they keep the grounds, to the reverence and warmth with which we are greeted.

Through the course of researching and selecting our cemetery plots, my wife and I were shocked just how much less pressure we received for a sale and how much more affordable the Gardens of Gethsemani was compared to the other cemeteries. Whilst the other guys said they were on our side, they definitely wanted to up-sell us (commission-based?). This wasn't the case with Gardens of Gethsemani. I thought there must be a catch.but there wasn't. In fact, they offered more: more respect, more listening, more disclosure, more nature, and certainly more value. I'd definitely come again if I had a second life!

The Family Services Advisor was so patient and kind; answered all our questions over and over again. The grounds team were so professional and respectful. While the day was a deeply sad one for us, we truly felt that we had chosen a beautiful final resting place for our dear brother.
