Garry Point Park

I'd give it a four if the City of Richmond would leave the geese alone that migrate there. The geese add character to Garry Point's natural, rustic & wild beauty. Let nature be natural please. Ps. I took the snowy tree pics this Feb 2019. It was very pretty with the snow.

No idea there was such a great historical site there, Britannia Shipyard. Hidden gem. Highly recommended

A great place for family and friends gathering on a weekend to relax and have fun. I saw many lovely kites flying in the sky.

Love this place! It has a wide green field and a big bay. When I went there in last spring there was a movie project going on there and they moved a lot of old houses to that place which made it even better for the view. Definitely like the place. It also has a good long seaside trail for both walking and biking.

Not crowded at all, brought my daughter for a bike ride and ice cream! We played on one of the beaches, had a great time, bought fish and shrimp fresh off the boats a couple blocks away on the docks. Excellent place that's not very crowded at all, will definitely be coming back.

Nice place for a light walk along the dyke. Wheelchair accessible. Can be windy so bring a light jacket.

Beautiful place and we'll laid out. Really appreciated the shade from the trees as it was a pretty warm day when we went.

This is close to where my son lives. Parked and walked over and picked him up. Was surprised it was free public parking with lots of available spots. We purchased fries at the concession there which were delicious. Walked along the waterfront it was very beautiful and a really nice park.

If you travel to Steveston for lunch, dinner or shopping, take in Garry Point Park. It is on the mouth of the Fraser River and is a great place for dog walks or for children to play along the shoreline. It's always interesting to watch the tugs, fishing boats and the occasional BC Ferry travel along the river. Also a good place to fly a kite on a windy day.

Beautiful park, really nice trail around the area with gorgeous ocean views and golden rolling fields beside. Nice area for flying kites and you can get some food nearby - they say they close at 6 but actually stay open longer when it's a busy day

Liked this place. I just wish City would plant more trees in the middle so more people can use it for picnic. Right now trees are just on the sides

Whether you're here to ride around or pass through on a bike, fly a kite on the park's windy days, or even watch and/or take pictures of the beautiful sunset or sunrise, this beautiful beach park has a lot!

Many people love to set up little social gathering spots for their loved ones, co-workers, or even a social group of theirs to come and hang out at this beautiful sunset haven.

I recommend Garry Point Park as it is one of, if not, my favourite place to take a sunset picture at!

So we were on a day adventure. Actually got a cloudy day so the temperature was tolerable. Allowed us to stay cool and enjoy the ocean breeze. We found people dune bug kiting. Was fun to watch. Then we went for fish and chips. Walked around the little town and enjoyed my day.

Great place for walking. Nice trails and great views over the water. Minimal shade so plan accordingly in the summertime.

An excellent park to unwind with the whole family. I just wish some of the people who uses the park to not litter or leave any of their trash laying around.be responsible. Don't vandalize the facilities provided for us to use please. I know how and what it means to spend that moment with your family at the park.please let's try to help keep the park clean and preserve the park's history.

Epic beach. Way less crowded than the beaches downtown and due to the river water, smells less salty. Great environment for dogs too.

The walking path boards the ocean, public restroom available. Spend the day flying kites and eat famous fish and chips at Pagos.

Mesmerizing place, especially when spring comes when Cherry Blossoms are in bloom. You will enjoy walking here while the ocean whispers healing to your mind. Best for picnics and photography.

We often take our kids for last few years.
For just walk around to see river, beautiful nature, sky and sun.

Or for biking or fishing.

Also, there is fish&chips at by the beach!

This is great outing place within a minute from the city!

The garry point park is a park by the fisheries town of stevenston, and it is super big. It may take an hour just to go around the park. Super chill and a good place to go for a picnic to watch the sunset. I think it is super amazing! You can bring dogs for friendly dog place too. The cherry blossom is amazing as well! We came here looking for a penny machine, and not finding one at the fish shop, we took a stroll along the waterfront. There is a small Japanese garden to walk through, and our family enjoyed hopping from compass point to compass point at the fisherman's memorial. A fun place to spend an afternoon.

Perfect place to sit down and relax while enjoying the sunset, you can see seals and sea lions, nice little loop walk about 15 mins and close to Steveston Village.

Its very open has nice walkway u can go fly kites play around and theres an ice cream parlor and has public WASHROOMS. Very rare Commodity sweet

The 5km walk here is fabulous! On one side you can see the airport from terra nova Park, and watch the planes/riverboats go by, and on the other side is Steveston, which is packed full of west coast maritime heritage. Along the walk, the marshes have been preserved making it a good area to spot field hawks, eagles and other birds. Great for scenic photographs too.

Great place regardless of weather. Kites flying almost all year. About 1.2km around, depending on if you go out to each point or lap through the centre. Washrooms and water available. Paul's Fish and Chips right near the parking lot. Only 800m from the parking lot by the Cannery - the gateway to Steveston Village.

I like going here for walk in the evening with my husband n we both likes the surroundings, so peaceful and fresh.

Great views of the Fraser River and Scottish slough. Lots of free parking. Beaches and kite flying area.

This place was really cool to visit. I saw a really big boat come by the park, it was crazy! I am happy I was able to visit this cool park.

Gary Point Park is an excellent park for those who like the beach, flying kites, cycling and picnics.

It is a wide, open park which is perfect to soak some rays in. It is at the mouth of the river and although the water is not very clean, many people swim in it.

The water is temperate and the small "beaches" are protected. The wide-open area is perfect for kite-flying. In fact there are usually at least five or six families flying kites and at least one or two parasail carts present.

If cycling is your thing, Garry Point is an excellent start-end point for families who want to do the Dyke trail from Garry Point to Terranova. It is around 17km both ways and at the end the family can have a picnic sitting on the grass or one of the many available picnic tables.

If you want to be catered to, there is Pajos and their fantastic (and pricy) fish and chips (or hotdogs and burgers for those against eating fish). It is also within walking distance from many other restaurants, should you decide that a picnic is not in the cards.

Sunsets are beautiful here. A nice way to end the weekend for sure.

Great ocean and fraser river viewpoint. Marshland waterfowl area west of the dyke north of garry point. Enjoy!

It's a nice place but it's hard to get a parking. There's a big impark parking but it's so expensive. You can look around and be lucky to find open parking on the street just have to walk far from the park. The park though is huge and a good place for kiting and cycling.

Nice and quiet if you walk around the path with Pajo's fish and chips restaurant around the parking area.

Perfect place to relax and to bring your friendly pet to play! Depending the day, you can bring your kite!

Amazing place for spending weekend afternoon in sun. We take flying disk, kite, bike and other outdoor games.

Wonderful little park that has great walking paths and an awesome place to watch the sunset. Check it out in Richmond if you're in the neighbourhood. A quiet place to get fresh air by the ocean.

This is such a great place to kill time or go on a stroll. The park alone has a short yet quaint walkthrough by the water, there is a connector that takes you to various restaurants that have a really nice selection in their menus (I recommend Blue Canoe). There are also boats down the pier selling fish and shrimp (bring cash). Or you can just keep walking past the Britannia shipyards or the Cannery, never a dull moment.

Great beaches and seawall walk. The suns shines more frequently in #Steveston so if you want to get away from the Vancouver rain this might be the place. Also great seafood restaurants are close by.

Great park for kites, dog walking and just taking a stroll. There's a small Japanese garden here that really blooms during the spring.

A very spacious and natural park where you could spent a few hours strolling or jogging or simply sit on the driftwood meditating, watching sunset!

Every year in the last week of March first week of April, the cherry blossoms open in spectacular fashion!

Sunset is amazing great. Peaceful and quiet. All worries are gone and you will think nothing but only enjoy watching the beautiful scene

One of the most beautiful places to visit specially in spring during the cherry blossom season.
The combination of ocean view plus green grass and trees in full bloom looks like unreal.
It’s windy almost always so dress properly.
